I slept next to my completely tuckered out mate, my pups, and half sleepily opened my eyes to see the night sky full of stars as if I were camping…. Mini was still here with Caleb, and I wanted her baby to be born here. I didn’t want her to go… I knew something was telling me I was right on this, and in the morning, I would just ask. Dad and Uncle Connor could take care of his pack…

“You aren’t wrong.” Said the Horned One. I knew I was asleep. The sky can’t be that vivid with street lights. I also knew I wasn’t home…

I was on the way to the castle right now, but he must have wanted to get my attention.

“But Why?” I asked.

“Why not?” He retorted with crossed arms. “This place has my blessing,” He motioned his hand with a wave, and I saw flashes of the pack. Just random places…. But it seemed that it was the Entire pack… not just one part or the places that were marked by him. “Is that not enough reason?” He asked.

I woke up to Kaizen licking me, his little tail was wagging fast enough to take flight if he kept that up… I was almost at the castle.

The Goblin King let uncle Jerold use his Jet, and by that extension us. Tyson and Grace were putting their feet in Bryson’s mouth, and he let them. I rolled my eyes. Uncle Noah stayed behind so his guards would protect him, Mini, and my brother.

“What.” He said sounding as if his mouth was full.

What? Asked Tyson.

Mouth. Said Bryson in wolf.

Mou? He tilted his head to the side…. They’d learned another word.

“They’re learning faster than a regular child.” Said Jerold. “They copied ‘what’ from me while you were asleep, and now it’s all they ask.” He smiled.

“That’s good…. but I have a question….” I didn’t want to ask with my uncle around… he was a King… if he didn’t like it, he had the full right to do something about it, though his stern face told me he was listening to me…

“Go ahead.” Said Bryson. He too was serious, though the eyes and minds of ones so powerful on me was a little intimidating to Glitter.

“I just dreamt of the Horned One… He wants Mini to have her child in our pack…” I looked at my mate. His eyes told me I shouldn’t have said anything, but he otherwise held my hand gently.

Jerold looked a little surprised, though he spoke calmly. “She will birth the High Queen. He probably wishes to know where they are when she’s born. Xaxas will wake only when she’s ready for him, but once she’s born technically, he could get up if he wanted.” He mumbled.

“You sound almost as if you’re nervous.” Said Bryson, but I didn’t pick that up. Jerold smiled.

“I can’t hide anything from you. It seems no matter how much time has passed, I still remember my defeat. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wished he would just Stay asleep forever, but I knew this time would come eventually…” he mumbled. His eyes glowed red a little.

“I can’t speak for him, but for me… getting a mate calmed down my temper allot.” He mumbled.

“Same here, but I don’t worry for his temper…. I worry for his absolute power over this world. He isn’t called ‘Master’, the ‘King of All the Realm’, and the ‘High King’ for nothing. He is the God of Judgment inside a mortal body. Dealing with him is like playing with briar thorned molten lava.” He said with a shiver.

“…. Why does that sound really specific?” I asked.

“Because he can and has done that… he has raised entire cities in minutes… We are champions because the other gods Don’t want to deal with him. He is the son of a Higher God. One who once ruled as the Light’s equal. The only thing stopping him from taking his place in the pantheon was what the Lord of Light did to him. He left us to deal with the Night’s children. No offense Bryson; I actually find you pleasant.” He mumbled.

“None taken. But as I told Caleb, we will keep this from the other kings.” He scratched the back of his horns.

“Only me and Ash know as we were the only ones alive when the deal was struck, but we chose to fain ignorance. They think the volcanic activity is because of Sky, as she announced she was with foal. Twins I think. This will be her sixth and seventh.” He smiled. The pups were nibbling Jerold’s feet to be picked up, and he did, letting them playfight on his lap while Kaizen snuggled into me. He yawned having mommy all to himself.

“I think she might have figured it out too when she tried helping me pup.” I mumbled.

“You wouldn’t be wrong. She is the one who has visions of their management in the first place.” Said Jerold, scratching his chin.

The attendant came out, looking confused and fearful; she was human. She had no idea of who we were talking about, but she knew Jerold was a King. It made her hesitate to tell us to buckle our seatbelts.

“Human, I know you report to King Hadeon. Tell him that this would not benefit him to mess with the High King’s mate.” Said Bryson. She nodded, running out.

I didn’t know him personally, but I knew goblins well enough through dad’s meetings as a pup. He would probably wait until she was an adult to do anything. It wouldn’t make sense to try something now, and get the anger of my mate, the High King, and the God of Destruction’s attention. I think he also had the King of Serpents, Asanguis, the Acidic One, as a brother too…

We landed, and I had no choice but to put the pups in a pet carrier until we got into a car. I didn’t want anyone to be suspicious of a lady carrying a basket around, because to humans they would look like three month old puppies. They seemed to sort of age as a human or werewolf pup would.

They complained, screaming bloody murder unto we got to the black SUV the Goblin King lent us with a driver. They weren’t coming to meet in the castle, it was just a few favors that Jerold could pull as a peer. We didn’t think he’d do it for us, and I didn’t know how much this costed… I was grateful though.

Jerold was always there for us, almost even more than my grandfather, though since they talked and he already lived here, I could only assume that was why. He sat in the front seat while me and Bryson watched the pups that played in the trunk of the SUV. The drive was quiet except for Grace pulling Tyson’s ear too roughly, and the play fighting that came from it. I let them have at it, they weren’t hurting each other, mostly because they were too small and innocent for that.

The guard at the gate recognized the driver, as he was part of some kind of royal shuttle service ran by the Goblin King.

I remembered this place well enough… it was a grand estate with many floors, a perfect lawn, and many servants. All were Omegas, as they were immune to the auras of kings. Their wolves were dormant, so there wasn’t an instinct to kneel to the presence of one fathoms greater.

I assume as much would have to be the case for Bryson’s brother, but I would keep that to myself. Soon I would be surrounded by eyes and ears that could pry… I loved that as much as I hated it. Since my powers were awakened, I too could hear the buzzing minds of those who were weaker, though for me it sounded almost like a out of tune radio. It also hurt to try and force it, but I never needed too. It was just something I kind of drowned out and ignored, being cheeky and letting my mate handle it.

The tree lined driveway ended in a U now, still perfectly manicured, with a place for parking not seen. That was apparently up to the driver to know, and thankfully I think he did. Once we got out, our bags were taken and the pups wished to walk between me and Bryson, so I let them. They were only about a ten inches tall... and most was fluff, but I walked ahead while my mate was behind, and beside him was Jerold. He only came because he wanted to speak with grandfather privately.

Those two shared more secrets than with any other kings it seemed, as Jerold walked up the stairs immediately, as if he were on a mission. Likely he was, to make sure no stray wolf heard them. Many of the council members were mostly in their offices, except the Dead One, John, Heidi, and the Second Seat. They waved, though I made no real effort to come near them just yet, I still had to think of my little ones.

I almost didn’t want to bring them, but they would be in danger if I didn’t. Bryson came for me, and royal guard or not, no one could feed them or care for them like we could. I waved, picking up my squirming pups to the sound of rushed clacks. She was already her wolf, and I smiled wide, though I could feel my mate wasn’t necessarily appreciative. She was too fast, hugging me tightly with all the pups too since I’d picked them up.

“Awe! Bryson come with me!” She beamed, but he seemed a bit stiff.

“I’m sorry your highness but we are a set. I cannot allow you to take them.” He said with crossed arms. Falcon pouted.

“No one will touch them.” She complained, but he shook his head, releasing his horns.

“No, I can’t. They’re too small.” He said sternly, linking her. She linked back.

“Very well. I can agree to those terms.” She said patting him on the back.

“Deal.” He smiled, and they shook wrists. What did they bargain?!

The King came down the stairs, in a suit that befitted his title, though I think Jerold was still up there… I wondered what secrets they shared too. I assumed the King of Halves knew more than what he let on. He was the Battle Bull after all… Grandpa waved, but otherwise went straight to the council room carrying a whip. I’d almost forgotten that he was supposed to punish Bryson because of me…

“Isabelle come over here!” Smiled Heidi, and I reluctantly came, though I played it off. It wasn’t her or John I was worried about. I didn’t like the other wolves. I didn’t know them well enough.

Bryson kept them at a distance while I hugged my sister and brother in law. “How’s council life?” I asked.

“Boring.” She smiled.

“Lies.” I hissed playfully.

“Come on Bryson, I get to show you the Luna’s Council. Since Izzy is the Third seat… you have to fill the Third Luna’s spot.” She smiled. Bryson did too.

“Well, I guess I’ll be the first Lune on the council then.” He joked, getting chuckles. As it was, he smelled about as strong as the Second Seat, so he definitely should be the one sitting in there, but I could probably make a difference….

“And you must be Alpha Oliver.” I shook his hand. He felt cold… like he really was dead. I heard no heartbeat, and he wasn’t breathing. He smelled of witch. That was probably the reason…. They walked off with the pups, and I hated to see them go, but with grandma, Heidi, and Bryson in there, they would be fine. He also mentioned he’d be in there later with me to see how everything went.

“I see you’ve already noticed.” He said with a small smile. He only took a breath to speak…

“It’s hard not to…. Where’s your mate?” I asked.

“At home where she belongs.” He held a growl, and I narrowed my eyes at him. “I kid. I kid, she’s over there speaking with the Second’s mate. Autumn is a human born Omega.” He smiled, pointing to a white-haired girl the same size as me.

I cannot thank you enough for what you did your highness. I have never felt so comfortable with her so far away. He linked, looking around to see if anyone would be in range to hear us.
