The Prisoner’s Princess Chapter 33
Bryson
I didn’t understand the King, yet, I felt pulled to him. My wolf said nothing, behaving in his presence. It was strange. He felt so approachable, like I could ask him why he was following me, yet I felt danger emitting from him. He was only the wolf; he doesn’t think like we do. It isn’t for a reason I would think of, but I wouldn’t have the time to speak with him in private, as Isabelle told him of all our travels while I did chores with the warriors and gave them instructions. Before I left with the King and 50 men, I gave my Beta Instructions.
“If I die, kill Chris so you have HalfMoon at your disposal. Though I have the full intention of coming back. Do not let my Luna leave this camp until I return.” I looked at her sternly.
“What?! That’s Bullshit!” She snarled, and I snarled back.
“This is not up for discussion. I can’t leave knowing you’re out there somewhere getting into Lady knows what.” I said firmly with crossed arms.
“Don’t you trust me?” She challenged.
“Yes, always, but this is entirely different. If they get their grubby paws on you, I can’t guarantee that I can get to you in time.” I said firmly. “Beta I do not care how you keep her here. but she does not go farther than the river.” And with that I turned getting ready to leave.
“My Smallest grandpup, you will listen to your mate, his words are wise. If he leaves with a worried heart, he may not return to you, as it is very distracting in battle…” Said the King. Her grandfather said nothing, he merely observed until now. I had actually forgot he was there.
She opened her mouth, and the King’s gaze fell on her. I almost felt bad for her, but I would take whatever help I could get. She was so stubborn to be so small… Lady. I cleared my throat and stood before the warriors that would come with us.
“Men, mates, pups. My pack, you all have come here on your own, and have tasted the wilds, if only for a moment. I have been your Alpha for only a short time… and though I know some of you fear me for my past, know now that I fight for the future. Our Future. Together we march to battle today, and pray we return to you.” I told them and they bowed their heads. Warriors had made peace with their families, and we all started to shift, so we could run faster.
The king shifted, and I understood why he was a children’s tale. He was nearly twice my size. He let out a roar that filled my soul with dread. I could see that his teeth were black, and there was an orange glow that you could see in the back of his throat. Ashes under his feet cause his paws to smoke. This is what my mate would become one day, when she is old enough to obtain her powers.
Finally, I am in fur. He linked pleased with himself.
Isabelle ran over to me, put her arms around my neck and hugged me tight. “I promise I won’t do anything rash…. I love you.” she said smelling my scent. I smelled hers as well.
I will be back, my princess. I said amused, seeing her pout made me snort. I love you more. I told her and we slowly left each other’s embrace… I trotted beside the king, though he held the lead.
There were quite a few men in the pack, and they that were left behind watched the women. I tried to have as many unmated males join, but ultimately a little more than half were. I didn’t want any to die, only to have a mate waiting for them to return. I wondered how many lives had I destroyed…. Maybe this was why I never got a mate until now.
I shook the this from my mind as best as I could. Now was not the time for this. We put our pants in our mouths and all stretched a bit before we ran full speed with the king in front, followed by me. The former Rouges gave directions as we ran. We were not going to stop until late into the night, and sleep then.

I grumbled in my mind as I sewed Bryson’s pants with Gabby. Beta Zack’s idea wasn’t what I had planned today, but he did need better jeans. He was a pretty big man though, so I would either have to order him some, or find a nomadic trader for his size.
“Like this Luna,” She beamed. Gabby’s a great stich, and was done much faster than I could dream.
“Luna, you do not have to do this.” Said one of the females.
“Just because I’m Luna doesn’t mean I don’t get to contribute.” I said with a small smile.
“I thought princesses sewed and stuff.” Said a teen girl a little too rudely for my taste. Glitter growled in my head. But I would let it slide.
“Emma! My Luna forgive my brat child, we spoiled her too much.” Said her mother worriedly.
“I’m tired of sleeping on the ground, eating shit and mending clothes.” She stomped her foot, another disrespect. One I would not accept. Contradictory I know, but her unrest could cause others her age to follow her.
Her mother was about to bow but I held my hand in front of her, before approaching the teenager. She looked like she was about 17, and she was already 6’1. This was an average size of a female. Most men were about 6’3 and up. I was the smallest adult wolf in the pack, and she thought she could express dominance by looking down on me.
“I don’t like your attitude. You would be wise to fix it little girl.” I sneered. “Everyone here works hard to do their part. Every meal is made with love.” I looked to the really-realy tall ebony woman, and her daughter, who looked like a fairy tale princess. “Every stich is one less ruined garment.” I smiled at Gabby, who bowed. “There are no shops out here yet, nor any BuckStars, or malls, but we have the pack.” I said confidently. I heard hearty murmurs of agreement behind me.
She raised her chin in defiance. “That’s great and all, but I am tired of living in a pile of dirt, being bossed around by a monster and his bitch who’s only place is with her legs wide.” She said and there were gasps. I had had enough.
“Kneel.” I said calmly. Probably too calm, but my wolf had been gnawing at the forefront of my mind a while now. It was all I could do not to choke her out. She is a teenager; she doesn’t know any better. I repeated to myself over and over, but my anger didn’t want to subside. For her sake, I was the bigger person.
“Fuck you.” She challenged and shifted. I shifted too, and those that had not seen yet, realized that I was just a tad smaller than Beta Zack. I pinned her to the ground and had her by the throat.
If my mate’s name ever comes out your mouth again, I will rip your tongue out myself. You have no right to pass judgement on My mate, whose out there challenging a demigod so we can sleep at night. You would be best to be silent, and be grateful you have your life. Now Shift. I commanded in a common link so everyone could hear, and she shifted.
Kneel. I growled, and she did a full kneel before my wolf on her hands and knees.
I shifted back, and everyone showed their necks as low as they could. They wanted no part of my wrath. “…. Forgive me Luna. I was out of place.” She mumbled in fear.
“You’re forgiven, now apologize to those you have offended. Everyone is going through the same thing as you. You have no right to your shit behavior.” I commanded softly.
Slowly she apologized, and I thanked the Lady that my mate didn’t hear her.
I stood on a log so everyone could see me. “Hear me pack… as someone who lived in a pack, I know your pains. Convenience and human technology is great, and soon we will have it again. Be patient a little while longer. With the rights to the pack, as well as official pack papers, we can build right here, and make this a real town square with roads, shops and everything. This pack isn’t even a month old, while the ones around us were created 200 years ago.” Wolves seemed to all agree with me, except some of the young teens. They wanted their lives back, not really understanding their parent’s logic. If they would hold out a little longer, they would see the vision.
One day, this will be a sprawling little town with window shops and a packhouse.
