The Prisoner’s Princess Chapter 82
Isabelle
“Alpha what? Really…. Did you meet the Horned One too?” Asked Alex, who was now in the room with almost all the ranked Warriors of HalfMoon side.
“He’s actually a very reasonable God. I thought you went to your posts?” He said like it was common knowledge, and we all wanted details. Now.
“I came to report a request from an Alpha to enter the border tomorrow, but I don’t know what they’re here for.” He said with a small smile, and my mate looked at the rest of them with a raised eyebrow. They gulped, leaving immediately.
“Whoever it is, it’s granted so long as they’re stripped.
“We came to tell you that Warrior Lionel has successfully been transferred to Half Prison sir.” Said a black haired, buzz-cut warrior.
“Alpha, spill it!” I demanded, and he rolled his eyes.
“It’s nothing more than I already told you, now all of you get to work, we have a pack to run.” He said seriously, but there was the smallest smile on his face.
“Right away Alpha.” Said Zack, practically prancing downstairs. The presence of Bryson meant that he could do what he seemed to love most; being Beta.
It’s hard to find wolves who Want to be support instead of lead willingly. Most of the time, it’s because they know they aren’t strong enough, so they contribute until they have a shot. But Zack was different; he had his shot and lost it. He never wanted it back either it seems. He could have easily stolen the pack from under my nose since I wasn’t here, but he didn’t do that. I loved my pack for that.
“I love that they chose to keep you healthy and safe….” Said Bryson, wiggling his fingers on the floor to attract the pups. They almost walked to him, only to attack their father. “And we need to pup proof everything. I can start to feel teeth.”
“I know! Isn’t it exciting?” I asked him, and he chuckled, walking to me, kissing me on the lips. It was passionate, and intense. I had craved this man’s touch for months…. But it would have to wait for tonight.
“Not as exciting as what I have planned for you.” He chuckled, grabbing my hands and raising them over my head. The pups crawled on our feet oblivious as to what we were doing but they knew something was happening.
“…. babysitter?” I asked, but he kissed me gently before releasing me.
“No, not yet.” He said softly, picking them up one by one, and redirecting them to play with the thousands of toys he had in his desk. “I know it may sound selfish but right now honestly… I just miss being with my family...” He said quietly, though when he rose to walk to his desk, I saw he was partly lying. I left him alone though, I didn’t mind waiting for my mate to feel ready. I did sit next to him however, so that we could read all the things that dad and Zack sent together.
We skimmed over what was missed by my mate until well into late at night. He wasn’t overwhelmed or impatient. He still skimmed like it was due right now, but he wasn’t rash about any decisions. Anything that he couldn’t rule at the moment, he put it aside for tomorrow. There were many proposals, including one for a secret joining road, but that and the enlarged central hospital in the middle of the territory got approved. Wolves were starting to flock to the HalfMoon side of the pack, because they felt safer near Alpha.
Though there were just as many that felt this was too much to take in, and I had seen many applications for transfer to the northernmost border. I glanced to see he had the pup’s milk while he scratched his horns. I could understand why anyone else would be completely terrified. I could understand the suspicion placed on my pups too, seeing as they didn’t have human forms yet. They would later, probably during puberty when most others would get a wolf, they would get a human form. He began to feed them their bottles, and honestly, I had gotten hungry.
“Alpha, do you want something to eat?” I asked but he continued to put the milk in the microwave to warm it.
“No, go ahead.” He said with a small smile. They were all put on his desk and happily ate loudly for us. It was one thing I never worried about; they loved to eat.
I went downstairs, being greeted by warriors. I knew he would be up until he crashed, so I would make sure to get him something anyway. I rummaged around the fridge and got us both some beef to nibble on. My fridge was pretty bare, but clean since I wasn’t there a while.
“Luna, would you like me to fry some ham and cheese for you two?” Asked Gabby, who had a fried ham and cheese sandwich for Libby, but she wasn’t done cooking yet.
“Honestly, I wanted to just go back upstairs.” I told her, but damn near every female in the packhouse insisted that I sit with them and catch up.
“No Luna please! I know you’ve been through allot and none of us have had a chance to really talk to you….” She said looking disappointed, and I sat in a chair. I would have to know that I saw how upset they were, even the women I hadn’t met yet….
“Fine.” I said with a fake drawn out sigh, only to get giggles.
“Luna we missed you, things have been so hectic without a leader.” Said Rose, who had a pup in her arms… I wanted to hold her, but I doubt if she would. She saw me looking at her pup, and let me hold her. She was so small to be a baby…. She was so quiet. This pup would have been the daughter of an Alpha, with a strong wolf, but now she might not get one… I prayed to the Lady that some justice would be given to this innocent, because it wasn’t fair.

“Alpha, may we come in?” Asked Zack closing the door, and I distinctly remember telling him to go to his office. It was so he could calm down. All the hyperactive energy of the pack was a bit too much for me right now.
“No, but I know you will keep asking so come and sit.”
“Well, it’s important. Now that it’s just you in here… I wanted to know if you were, ok?” He was genuinely concerned for me, and I knew I couldn’t lie to him. I wasn’t used to this… I half expected the pack to only know if I was battle ready, and shun me for being a freak, but I was learning that real pack members were genuinely supportive.
“Honestly, no. I’m tired and irritable after being revived. I feel vulnerable, and weak.” I said quietly in case my mate was coming back up.
“You may be like this until the next moon at the latest.” He looked to see if I was upset, but I was just impatient.
“The moon was waxing when I rose, so hopefully if I sit outside a couple nights, I will regain my power.”
“Until then, I’ll make sure I take any challengers…. But since you revived, all the Rouges that were on the outskirts of the territory have fled.” He said with a small smile, pouring me some coffee.
“That won’t be needed Zackery, it would bring fear to the pack… Also, I know my second life will reach the ears of the High Council soon…. Don’t tell Isabelle… you may have to watch the pack again.” I told him firmly, but he leaned back in the chair across from me.
“Alpha I really don’t like this…. But I will respect your wishes.” He said getting up and bowing before leaving out. My office was silent, but I was fine with it. I knew my mate was just down the stairs, and my pups were asleep at my feet. I dared not move either, as Grace was close to my toes, but I didn’t have the heart to move her.
They hummed in their sleep, and for the first time since I died, I felt calm. I wasn’t worried about tomorrow, because I knew it would be ok. I also smelled food. My mate had brought me up raw and human food for both of us, and I didn’t know quite what to make of it. “Thank you, little mate.” I told her, taking the plates so she could put the pups in the basket. She did it lightly enough that they didn’t wake, and I was silently impressed.
“Thank Gabby, and have you seen Rose’s pup? She was born only four pounds.” She said quietly, and I knew my mate; she was blaming herself.
“No, but I’ll see what I can do about healing her and the pup. It’s the least I can do.” I told her to calm her, but I heard her suspicions.
“I’m not hiding anything Isabelle.” I grumbled, but she narrowed her eyes at me, and stared a long time before dropping it.
“Ok, but I want you to go sit in the clearing and pray to the Lady. Give thanks that you live…. Because I don’t know how much more of that I could have taken….” She said clearly upset, and I held her gently,
“Ok, but to be sure you’re safe, I’ll have Warrior Makai watch the floor while I’m gone.” I kissed her on the forehead, and she sniffled on my chest.
“Swear to me that I won’t wake up in my father’s house.” She said quietly, and I held her as if she were made of glass. She had to have been strong for so long, that she was breaking that she felt she could.
