The Prisoner’s Princess Chapter 44
Isabelle
I clawed the bathroom wall. Who could be so cruel? To kill a pup… the innocent. She should suffer. She should die slowly and be made an example. My wolf agreed, and I laid in bed with red eyes. I could not calm down. I didn’t want to. I wanted to sit on this rage until she screamed under my mate’s boot.
“Isabelle… this rage isn’t good for the baby.” Said my mother, calmly putting a hand on mine. My mate had left an hour ago, and if he saw me like this, he’d have said the same thing.
“I pray that the Horned One take their souls and torment them for e-fucking-ternity!” I screamed, and I tried calming down… I took deep breaths and made sure I didn’t put any grip to my hands… mom is a very small wolf, almost an Omega. I could really hurt her…
“That’s it, let it out.” She told me, like when I was little. I calmed down, as much as I didn’t want to… I didn’t want to hurt my baby. She brushed my hair, and Mini came into the room with fearful eyes. She looked afraid of me.
“I came to check on you Isabelle.” She said very shyly.
“I’m fine Mini, just overwhelmed. I’m supposed to lead these people, while watching my back. What if I was trusting like I used to be? I’d be dead….” I told her, and she hugged me. My wolf allowed it because she was a childhood friend.
“I love you like the sister I never had… please don’t become someone different.” She said very quietly. She looked submissive as she held onto me, and I felt bad that I scared my friend.
“Mini… I know it sounds crazy, but you’re gonna be a Luna too, and even more, you’re a Prince’s mate. Caleb may have to do the same things…. I know dad probably did.” I looked at him and he nodded arms crossed, eyes red.
“Though… I never skinned anyone. No one ever pissed me off enough to do it.” he admitted.
“What about the rug on the floor in your office?” I asked him.
“That’s grandfather’s doing.” He chuckled.
Mini looked a little scared, but she calmed down when Caleb put her in his arms. “I promise I won’t let you see if I ever have to fight little mate.” He said quietly and pat her head.
I groaned and laid back in bed. I didn’t want to see my little brother make out with his mate. He chuckled and planted a kiss on my forehead. “Get better sis, I’m taking Mini to our room.” He grinned evilly.
“I-Didn’t-Need-to-know-that-Get-OUT” I yelled all at once and he carried her out the room.
“Well I’m sure our pup probably wants us to scram too. Link me if you need me, I need to get an update on Charred by your Aunt.” Said dad, who held mom’s hand. I nodded and put my head under the covers. I was tired, hot, and angry. A nap would fix the crankiness.
-----Bryson-----
This was my first time driving to PineMoon, but I figured it out. I recognized the smells of the pack from the highway, and got off on the wrong exit, but I was close. He probably knew that I was coming for him, but what was he planning?
There was silence when I got to the border, but it was a strange feeling that came with it. I felt watched. They let me drive into the pack, as they most likely had a trap waiting for me. I pulled over and got out the car. The sun was setting, and I pulled off my pants, and put them in the backseat. I howled in dominance, and there was no response. Odd… I got my pants and trotted with them in my mouth, tail high, and on guard. It was as if the place was abandoned, but I could smell fresh wolf on the wind.
Come out coward. I roared in a common link, and his scouts were compelled to respond to me.
They growled, but they had their tails low in submission. Alpha Bryson, Alpha and Luna Pine are abandoning us. He growled. I shook my fur, and stretched my legs.
I’ll be damned before I let that happen. I snarled, running to the strongest scent of them that I had, but it split in two…. I had two options. I could Kill Vincent, and hunt the mother later, or I could kill her, and hope he comes back for revenge later. … or I could keep them alive.
I went right, the woman would lore her mate to me. Even if she were a mark mate, he would at least come for his son. I ran, finding a route that was more efficient than the way they were going, because in a car they could only go on the road.
They drove faster, and I ran as fast as I could; my muscles were strained, and my back began to feel num, but I leaped, landing on the roof of the car. I shifted, clawing it back like a tin can, and they jumped out. I got off the roof.
They were surrounded by their own pack, and no one wanted to save them. “Please I have money.” She begged.
I sighed, shifting. I had lost my pants along the way, but she stared at my nakedness, which made me growl. “I don’t need that.”
“…my body.” She offered, about to take off her shirt.
“I have a mate.” I said flatly. She wasn’t my type anyway: A bitch.
“Please.” She begged, holding her toddler children. I sighed. They were too twin boys about 4 or 5, not even old enough to shift yet. They were still in booster seats when I got them out… so they weren’t in school yet.
“Put them in my car.” I commanded. Warriors shifted and picked her up by the arms. I was given some sweatpants. It was a two-hour walk, and they looked beat, almost glad that they got to sit down.
A warrior put the child safety lock on the doors so they couldn’t jump out again, and I drove out the pack with Vincent’s mate and 2 pups. They had their father’s silver hair, and their mother’s eyes.
“Mom what’s he gonna do to us.” Whispered one twin, who sat on the right.
“Shh! Don’t make him mad! I heard he skins you and eats your liver.” Said the boy on the left.
“It’s going to be alright… your father will save us.” She lied to her children. She held them, and I could see her beg with pleading eyes. She had the wrong mate. Maybe Isabelle would show mercy, though from her hormonal speech, probably not. If my mate wishes the pups killed. I will do it. If she wants them fashioned into boots, I will do that too. You think to much. We kill them, they are the pups of our enemy, and will grow to hate us. It is simple. Snarled Ven, and the mother saw my eyes flash. She chose to say nothing.
“Yes, I Do kill and skin wolves, but I don’t eat them, and only to enemies.” I said flatly, and the life drained from their eyes. The two boys were filled with dread.
“…. Did you really kill Grahkes?” Asked the one on the right.
“Nimmy leave him alone.” Squealed his brother. “I’m so very sorry Mr Beast sir, we won’t ask anymore questions.” He shook. I chuckled, making them all freeze.
“Nummy be quiet! Please Mr. Beast….” Said the other.
“Well, it was the king that put Grahkes back to sleep, I just un-brainwashed about 117 wolves by killing the mind controlled idiot that called himself ‘Master.’ And yes, I have horns.” I said, hearing the thought of the one on the right. I let them spiral out, and it felt like a strain off my scalp.
“Wow.” They both said.
“You’re a real piece of work.” Sneered their mother. “You get their hopes up so you can torture them later. You truly are the son of the Devil.”
“No, they asked questions, and they were polite. Something I wouldn’t expect from you. I never once tried to poison anyone’s pups, yet you’ve killed a few I’ve heard.” I said, pulling off the highway, we had about 15 minutes left to drive.
“Momma is that true...?” asked the boy on the right. She was quiet a long time.
Lie to them. I dare you. I linked her.
“Your papa made me do it… but that didn’t make it right.” She said truthfully.
“Is that why Mr. Beast is gonna eat us?” Asked the one on the left.
“No, I’m not eating anyone.” I sighed.
I linked my warriors, and they had the packhouse still on lockdown.
“Alpha, Luna is awake and is in the living room.” Said Beta Zachary.
“Hi!” She waved, holding a stuffed unicorn. I remember seeing it on her backpack, she must truly love it to still hold on to it. It smelled like something I wanted to put in my mouth and tear to shreds , but I knew it would make her angry if I did that.
The woman broke out of the female warrior’s grip and kneeled before my mate. “Please, Luna. Please spare my pups! They are innocent. They are too young to know the harshness I placed on others. Please I beg you.” She cried, but Isabelle looked unphased.
“They are now mine.” She said flatly. “Bring them here.” She motioned with her hand.
The two pups walked to Isabelle and looked terrified. It was then that her heart softened.
