The pups had been fed and Bryson was asleep like a rock. He was drunk, and I wasn’t. He snored loudly, and I found out today that he was a happy one. I was glad for that, since he was a naturally aggressive male. He was also very powerful, and I know there was no way I could stop him if he picked a fight with anyone.

“Luna, are you awake?” Knocked a familiar voice. It was an Omega messenger. He tapped as gently as he could, and it sounded as if he were going to leave, but I stopped him.

“It’s unlocked. Turn on the light.” I told him, and he timidly opened the door. He was escorted by the inner and outer guard, and he held what looked like paperwork in his hands.

He became more timid when Alpha woke up, and yawned, stretching a bit. “Um, Alpha and Luna… I’m Omega Arnold Flowers from SaltMoon… Alpha Ryan requests the release of his son, and as an offer of good will, the delivery have has a sacrifice of three hundred thousand dollars for his safe release.” He shook. Looking at my mate.

He was so weak that he almost smelled human, and he feared for his life. He kneeled as low as he could, and Bryson sat up, yawning. “Calm down, I may be a demigod, but I’m not a fucking monster. I won’t kill you for waking me.” He rubbed his eyes, and he got up. He had responded to the thought of the Omega, which freaked him out more. He didn’t know we could hear him, and he desperately wanted to leave.

“I’m only a messenger sir, I have no power.” He stumbled over his words, and I shook my head.

“Bryson, from what I understand, the kid came here to challenge you, lost to Zack, and is in holding.” I said and he grumbled a sleepy yes.

“Tell him to come himself in the morning, you can stay the night; it’s late.” Said Bryson, but Omega Arnold shook his head.

“Alpha sir, please allow me to leave your pack, I did not mean to wake you, I wouldn’t if my Alpha hadn’t made me.” He felt blocked in, and I felt bad for him.

“No, you misunderstand. I’m not holding you. You look so afraid and tired, and I’m offering you rest before you drive from the bottom of Missoura to the border of Iawee. He runs you ragged, doesn’t he?” Asked my mate.

“We are on call sir. I must do as I am told.” He said quietly, and Bryson hummed.

“I want to talk to Ryan personally. I feel like you really should take my offer, I don’t want you falling asleep on the road, or having to stop in a human town.” He got up, and reached his hand down, helping him stand. “I’m not that kind of Alpha. You don’t have to grovel.” He told him gently. I don’t think he was drunk anymore, but he didn’t mind showing others his nice side.

“Yes Alpha.” he said quietly, and I could get it. Bryson has a well-deserved reputation, and this guy has no powers. He has a dormant wolf. It might not even have a name. It’s intimidating to be in a room with a wolf everyone thinks-

“Wait, did you say sacrifice?” I said in confusion.

“Yes Luna, Alpha Ryan wishes to appease you both somehow, and he has no idea what to do. Everyone is afraid ma’am. No one wants to die… no one wants to be soul bound to this earth as a wondering spirit…. Or devoured.” He looked at my mate who was confused until he looked pretty pissed.

“I don’t eat souls, and I don’t need sacrifices… Lady Damnit.” He grumbled, and the Omega saw that as his cue to take his leave. He had done the one thing he was afraid he’d do, though I doubt he could ever make him mad enough to hurt him. That wasn’t who my mate was.

“Bryson it’s ok. Wolves don’t know because well, they see how strong you are, and think you’re like all the other Alphas they’ve encountered. Wanting tribute and absolute submission would be something a stereotypical Alpha as strong as you would want.” I said to soothe him, and he dropped his shoulders, relaxing a bit.

“Lady… could you imagine if any of the dumb fucks at the council had Ven?” He laughed, and I could hear his wolf was offended.

“Alpha if they had Ven, even for three seconds they would power trip like a super villain in a cheesy movie.” I warned with a small giggle, and the warrior unit escorted the Omega hopefully to a room.

He turned off the light, closed the door and laid down next to me and the pups, holding me gently.

“…. I don’t like this. Maybe just do this without seeing him in person?” I asked.

“It would make more trouble…. Making me look weak. This would put you in danger” he mumbled.

“I guess as long as you aren’t the one going to fight him…. Then you should be safe.” I said quietly.

“Wait.” He said in the darkness.

“What?” I asked.

“I was going to kill that little shit when I got back but I forgot. This is the event. I was going to kill him, and Ryan would have retaliated.” He said, but I was tired, not understanding what he meant.

“Explain…” I yawned.

“I will not kill him now…. I wonder… I think this should alter my fate. He mumbled, and we both drifted off. It was hard to stay sleep, but for the sake of the pups’ schedule, I tired not to move too much.

I got up and stretched, seeing that Bryson was feeding them, already dressed and shaved, speaking to them in wolf.

Your father loves you little ones. Do not cry, I am here. He soothed, and they stopped screaming somewhat. “They cry for you.” He said with a small smile, and he put his thumb in between Grace’s horns, rubbing gently in little circles. She became gelatin, completely stoping her wiggles. She hummed so quietly, and he did Tyson, then Kaizen next. They weren’t asleep… but he really had them calmed.

I think I’d learned something.

While he was crouched down with them on the bed, I stood up, and patted in between his horns.

“Holy shit.” He growled an approving rumble, and I massaged the area where they sprouted. I scratched behind his ears too, and he pushed me gently, forcing me to sit, so he could put his head in my lap. “Unlearn this right now.” He grumbled, but made no effort to move.

The pups didn’t either, and I chuckled. “It seems I found the off button.” I told him and he glared at me.

“Yes you did, I’m at your mercy.” He mumbled.

“Who’s your Alpha.” I demanded playfully.

“You are, please no more, I have never felt this level of pleasure that wasn’t sex and I don’t know what to do with this information.” He complained. He’d never had the loving touch of affection…. It made me a little sad.

“I love you Bryson.” I kissed him on the top of the head, and I felt a wetness on my lap…..

“I love you too wildflower.” He mumbled, wiping away the single tear off his face.

“Holy shit sorry. I didn’t mean to make you cry.” I told him, stopping so I could hug his neck. I also put the pups on the floor from out their basket to wiggle around. They were getting faster, and soon they might get the hang of it.

“It was going to happen. Isabelle I never had love or affection like this aside from you. Everything until this point in my life was only done for me out of necessity. It makes me feel things I still don’t know how to process….” He admitted honestly. He wasn’t the kind of man who lied about things. He was blunt and honest, even with sensitive things. Though, it was implied no one ever know of this moment.

“I don’t care if wolves know that my mate found a spot that feels so good, I get emotional, but don’t Ever try this in public.” He glared and I nodded.

We were like this an hour longer, as it was only five in the morning. His office didn’t open until seven, and we went down so I could make breakfast for us. I pan fried some eggs, elk, toast, and cheese cubes. I also made some really strong coffee, but my mate liked it that way. I used allot of milk, and the pups were still awake, so they played on the carpet with a few pups who were tiny toddlers. Their mothers made sure that they were monitored with them, while many of the she wolves were starting to pup. Some already had a few days after me, but in a few weeks, it would be full again.

“Alpha, I have news.” Said a gray-haired warrior.

“Speak.” He told him.

“Alpha Ryan requested entrance to the pack early this morning, and he is now within pack territory.”

“Where?”

“He should arrive at the packhouse within 10 minutes. The Inner Warrior Guard relayed the message of allowing him this morning.” He said on panted breath. He smelled as if he’d just shifted, so he probably ran all the way to Half from the WaterMoon side border.

“Well he can meet me here in the living room. I want the inner and outer guard warriors in their stations, and at least 20 inside the packhouse now.” He commanded calmly. She wolves with pups were taken upstairs, and I was escorted by Warrior Makai and her unit. I trusted them, while their mates stood at the door. I wanted to stay down there so badly, but I had to do this for my pups. I didn’t trust any other outside wolf around them, and neither did my mate.
