The Prisoner’s Princess Chapter 87

I wore shades of magical creation since I wasn’t putting those disks in my eyes. I also hated the airport, and both of us agreed to keep our horns put away until after we got to the castle. I had agreed to this form of travel since it was supposedly faster, but I hated the stench of this place.
We had no bags to check so when it was time to go, I followed Jerold. The plane was supposed to be a small one, but I was silently impressed. I’d never seen one up close.…It was much bigger in person than the small spec in the sky I had always seen above me. However I would not share this with anyone except my mate when I got back. I said nothing as I got on, being bowed to an incredibly small red-haired woman. The stewardess was a human, as well as the captain, but they seemed to know what we were.
“King Hadeon of the Goblins sends his regards, King Aeschylus.” She said with a small smile.
“Ah, thank you. Send word that I will also have need of a rental. I wish to interact with as few mortals as possible.” He said quietly, and she scampered off, I assume to follow his order.
I watched the human show me how to buckle the seatbelt before takeoff, and I finally felt comfortable enough to take off my shades. She reacted about as I expected, however I was thankful that she didn’t scream. I had that affect on people. I saw her scamper behind a curtain before take off, and I leaned back, thinking about what she’d said.
I wondered why this King Hadeon would help Jerold. I’d never met a goblin, but I assumed they both had their reasons. I didn’t trust them; I trusted my mate. She’d known them her entire life, and I’d hoped that Jerold would have some attachment to her enough not to fuck me over.
“I heard that you little shit. I’m doing this Because of Isabelle. You are her mate, and I’d hate to see her heart broken any more than she’s already been. I know the feeling of the broken bond for only moments… she endured it for months…” he grumbled.
“I didn’t realize.” I said quietly.
“There are no words to describe it, there is no salve that can mend it. I know in my heart I do the right thing, because if they did what they had planned, you would follow your father’s footsteps.” He said with a frown.
I remained silent until we arrived. There were no more words to share, and I didn’t want to hear their plan. I had an inkling as to what it was, the same as the lower council.
Kill me. My pups, My mate. Erase all of me in hopes that I would not return. But I would…. And I would have not cared who was in my way.
I noticed Jerold had heard me, but he didn’t say anything. I half expected him to chastise me, however he pulled out a book and began to read. His continued silence meant I was right. He was only a few chairs away, and I chose to look out the window. I saw the occasional dragon, witch, or Pegasus; however, I was sure the human saw nothing.
“Would you like anything sir?” She asked, and I shook my head no. She looked like she wanted to ask more, but my glare deterred her.
“He is a werewolf. Please stop thinking so loudly.” Asked Jerold with a growl, and the stewardess ran back to the front of the plane.
“I feel bad for doing it, but it’s hard to read with someone else’s thoughts louder than your own.” He mumbled.
“Have you ever tried doing anything near Isabelle?” I joked and he chuckled.
“My Lady Above…. I remember when she was small, she would bite my ankles, but she would think about it for at least half an hour first. ‘I’m gonna do it’, but then she wouldn’t because I would glare at her.” He imitated her perfectly. “… ‘He’s gonna get scared and I’m gonna kick his butt’ or my favorite ‘he looks mad, I should ask is he ok first before I do it’.” we both chuckled.
“What always gets me are those innocent eyes.” I told him honestly, and he shook his head.
“She got her father with that one. She’d cry once he put her in the corner, and to her he’d look stern, but he’d pace in his office debating on letting her out early.” He chuckled.
“I can’t wait to get home…” I said quietly.
“I second that… knowing Noah he’s probably juggling flaming bowling pins to impress a hoard of vampires or something.” He grumbled. That was oddly specific… “Yes, he’s done that; it’s why they didn’t eat him.” He snorted steam.
We put back on our seatbelts, as it was time to land. There was a car waiting for us, and I was glad that I didn’t have to wait. I was also glad I didn’t have to be driven hours, as it was already 10pm with all the delay. I would ride another two hours, then he would bring me in handcuffs to the other royals. I would also ware my shades in case we were stopped, though I doubted it.
The drive was uneventful, and I could feel the old kings and queens’ power. The fresh smell of pine made me feel at home, but I kept up my guard once I smelled we were close. I knew that my senses were duller, because I could almost see the lights in the darkness before I could scent it. It made me miss my wolf more… especially since I knew even the witches could sense me by now…
“Alright, put on these cuffs.” He said casually, handing them to me while he drove.
“These look like they’re made for mortals.” I said feeling them, and I was pretty grateful for that.
“Yup.” Jerold said as if it were a normal thing to do with a ‘highly dangerous criminal’. He was leaving me an out in case things went sour. I could break them if I wanted, but I would play their game if it meant they would leave me the fuck alone after this. It’s why he was confident that I would behave.
We got out the car, and he immediately let his horns out, and I did as well. He took my shades off for me, and put them in his pocket. “Your highness.” Bowed and Omega with reddish brown hair. He seemed unphased by me, nor Jerold, escorting Jerold away. Warriors took me to I assumed to some kind of holding area. I was no guest here, but they didn’t treat me too badly.
I was taken downstairs to a well-lit, but old dungeon. Torches lined the walls, and the doors looked ancient. This place smelled thousands of years old…. I was led to a shower area made of stone, but the water forever flowed from the ceiling and into a drain underneath. “If you resist, we will beat you until you are too weak to. Do you understand Old One?” Asked a female warrior, standing in front of all the males. They submitted to her, so she must have been their Luna, but I would respect her. She was only doing her job.
“As long as I am here no longer than 24 hours, no one will have issue with me.” I told her breaking the cuffs, then releasing the metal cuffs from my wrists by snapping the hinges with my fingers. I grabbed a sponge, and took my clothes off. I didn’t care if they watched, as we were all adult shifters. I didn’t think they were wolves, but I knew they turned into something. I could tell that even with my dulled senses. She hesitated, but soon she stepped to me like an Alpha. I ignored her.
“You will not disrespect me pup.” She snarled, and I sighed.
“If you are so easily offended, leave. I will not argue with you small woman.” I told her and walked into the cold water. It almost reminded me of river water, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was. I thought this to myself, turning my back to her. It showed them all that I didn’t see any of them as any kind of challenge, and I offended them all. However, the only one they looked to was the she shifter.
“I cannot engage you for words alone… yet prisoner. You have made an enemy this day.” She snarled and I completely ignored her now. I wasn’t here for challenges.
“You disrespect Alpha prisoner.” Snarled one, though I continued my actions. They had not stepped to me proper, but their hesitation to do so meant I was right about being stronger anyway. It would also give reason to hold me longer. So long as I made no aggressive moves, I wouldn’t have to fight them. I wouldn’t have the nice cool water of this place stained with the guts of countless guards overreacting to me defending myself. It was almost like they wanted me to start killing….
They all seemed upset as I clothed myself, and walked past them sitting down in my cell, closing the door behind myself, getting looks of disgust, but they otherwise left. I sighed deeply, having old memories dredged from the back of my mind… I looked at the sleeves of the orange jumpsuit, but I was more upset about the clothing than anything else. It reminded me when packs caged me, when the other Alphas deemed me a freak, when I was an outcast.
I could only guess that I never stopped being one. There would always be suspicion thrown on me. “Bryson the Beast, it is time to see their majesties.” Snarled the woman, opening the door, putting thick cuffs on me of pure silver. It didn’t burn since Ven was not there…. but they were made for much smaller creatures. She tried pushing me, but I felt I was much stronger than her, because I couldn’t feel them, but I knew she was doing it. It reminded me of when Isabelle tried to be playfully rough with me, though with this Warrior, it was done in a place of anger since I didn’t kneel to her. The light change blinded me, though I did not show it.
