The Prisoner’s Princess Chapter 63
Isabelle
“Auntie Let Me Out!” I snarled with all I had. I knew I wouldn’t be much help, but I knew my mate. He was hiding something, something big.
“No. If I unlock this door other than to check on you or warming up your meat, you will try and sneak out. Think of your pups…. They can only drink your milk.” She said quietly.
I was quiet as well… because I knew she was right. My milk was thick, but also no one else was on a meat only diet. I couldn’t have anything else, because I was still healing. I looked at them happily squeak, half asleep. They couldn’t go because of my yelling.
“Then at least tell me why he left.” I mumbled, but I knew she heard me. I was missing him….
“I don’t know.” She lied. I could tell even through the door.
“Auntie…. Please. I will worry either way.” I told her quietly, stroking Tyson with both my hands until he went to sleep, then Kaizen, then Grace. She was the quietest of the three, and also the smallest. She was half the size of her brothers.
“…. someone killed your Beta and the Forest Guardian. I was upstairs on patrol when I heard the phone call.” She said very quietly, and I heard dad snarl. He was telling her that she said too much, and she disregarded him, growling back that I would have found out eventually.
I was worried, but I played it off as best as I could. “Which Beta?” I asked quietly at the door. We had 4.
“I don’t know.” She admitted and I put my hand on my forehead. I had recovered mostly from the blood loss, but not from the muscle tears and fatigue.
“Ok…. Well, I need to make some phone calls.” I said, reaching for my phone to call Zack, then Franklin, Yale, then Marvin. Finally, someone answered.
“Beta Marvin Martini, in my Lamborghini. Bustin’ mad rhymes all the time. Who’s this? how can I help you?” He said with a smile in his voice. He was the Beta of BlackMoon.
“Do you know where Beta Franklin and Zackary are?” I asked and he was quiet a long time.
“Alpha Opal killed Franklin…. And Elion, but the trees aren’t dying anymore, so Alpha must have done something….” He said finally. Gamma Dani would be Beta now… but I wasn’t sure if he was ready for that kind of responsibility. Franklin had been Beta of two packs for over a century. This cut me deep… I liked all the Betas and Gammas we had; they worked hard to defend the pack.
“Do you think you can link him for me?” I asked and he choked on his own air.
“Luna, I haven’t Met Alpha…. I don’t want to talk to him, Or Beta Zachary. I like my pelt where it is…. On Me.” He said fearfully, and I facepalmed.
“I swear he won’t, just link him.” He crackled paper.
“My Luna, the Only order he has ever directly given me Was Not Telling You What I Just Said. Please. Don’t command me to do this.” He whined.
“I just need to know.” I said calmly, trying to soothe his fear. It was understandable, Bryson would be mad at him that he disobeyed an order.
“Oh, I’m breaking up, bye!” He said swiftly and I nearly growled, but I held it in for my pup’s sake. They curled up in little balls, touching each other near my lap. They soothed me somewhat. I wasn’t here just for myself anymore, I was here for them now. I would die for my little ones. I would kill for them too.
I called Gamma Alexander, Dani, Ria, and Nelson, but no one answered, meaning Marvin let them know not to. I sighed in my room, feeling unnaturally sleepy, feeling a presence in the room.
-----Bryson-----
Stop Strange Wolf. Linked a tan furred warrior, in front of all the others. There had to be at least 20 of them.
Your wolves have killed my Beta. It is my right to challenge. I snarled back in common link, which made them submit automatically.
Alpha has denied your request on the grounds of your refusal of cooperation. By law, you are already perceived as hostile, and initiated the encounter by your wolves entering our territory without showing any faith of good will. He snarled with a smile on his muzzle.
There have been no deaths. I snarled.
That means nothing. You declare war, then become angry when you lost casualties. He sneered. I howled for more warriors, and soon there were at least two hundred behind me.
I heard the click of a camera. “Wait until the council sees this. Even if you do kill me, you and yours will be on the fucking streets.” He chuckled. He held a smug look on his face, riding an ATV to the border’s edge. There were more wolves on his side, which equaled my own. I would call for more, but my pride got the better of me.
I shifted. “I do not care about the law Greg. You have broken your oath, therefore even if they revoked all my other packs, I would still own yours after I pull your heart out through your stomach.” I snarled. His eyes grew wide, but upon hearing that his wolves murmured to themselves, parting the way for me to enter.
“You stay on your side.” He warned, about to drive away until he saw the look on his wolves’ faces. To leave now was forfeit, and he would still belong to me.
“Oath Breaker…” some murmured
“He lies…. Alpha would never kneel to that tyrant.” Snarled others.
“I will give you an advantage. I will not shift.” I chuckled darkly, but he seemed to muster up more courage on hearing that. He shifted into his dark sterling wolf, and all the other wolves from both sides made a circle to watch in the forest full of deep cover and fallen logs.
He snarled, lunging at me without warning. I grabbed him by his gaping mouth, shoving him to the side. There were jeers on both sides, roaring bets and fighting among the opposing sides while we fought. He lunged again, biting my shoulder, and I slammed my fist on his snout. He was larger than me because he was a wolf, but he would not win this fight.
He let go and I clawed the side of his neck, missing his jugular, “Shit.” I mumbled, charging him, and he reared above me. He jumped, aiming at my throat, but I ducked. I grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and slammed him down. He kicked dirt snapping at me like a rabid dog, but I would savor this.
You will release me. He commanded, clawing me on the chest, exposing my ribs but I would not let go. I broke his legs with my grip one by one, hearing him scream. It was like music to my ears, and I hummed in contentment. It completely stopped the commotion of wolves, so they could see what was going on. I heard the hum of another ATV, and they made way so she could get out and kneel. It was his mate.
“Alpha Bryson, you have won, please release my mate. Please give my mate mercy!” Cried his Luna. She was an average she wolf of flaxen hair and hazel eyes. She fell to her hands and knees, but the males knew. This was a death match. If I let him go, he would only come back to be a thorn in my side. I looked at her in the eyes, holding him high in the air, though he could breathe. I wouldn’t let him pass out. He wouldn’t get that accidental mercy.
“You might want to look away.” I told her, and she shook her had at my feet. He looked at her with fear in his eyes.
“Mom Move!” Screamed her daughter, but she shook her head. Her and her mate stood at a distance, too afraid to get any closer. I recognized that boy as Chris’s son. He looked at me with disgust, but I knew he would do nothing. I could see in his eyes that I submitted his wolf, and I hadn’t done anything yet.
Please. Let her live. She is a small wolf. She is no threat. He screamed in wolf with the last air I allowed him to have.
“Alpha Bryson, my father is defeated please.” She begged, taking a few steps forward. She looked like her mother, only taller with her father’s blue eyes.
“Your father broke a blood oath. I would have ignored his pestering had he not killed Franklin. His wolves entered my territory, thinking that I would not retaliate. He killed Elion, poisoning the forest, killing almost all the trees under 50, and leaving the rest to become sick. Elion was the protector of all the forest, and he saved my life when I was a pup. The earth itself demands his blood. Your father has done this to himself. You should stop begging mercy for him, and you should start worrying about yourself.”
I raked my claws up his belly slowly, hearing him shriek a high pitched whine that rang throughout the forest. His guts fell on his mate, and she screamed a sorrowful wail. It felt really good. There was just something so gratifying about ripping apart an enemy… it made my heart race. He was already dead, so there was no point in skinning him. But I did anyway in a swift tug, tossing it to the side with no effort. There was something in me that had snapped, but what scared me was that I liked it.
