The Prisoner’s Princess Chapter 66
Bryson
“Nope. That human show had them pretty much foaming at the mouth.” Said Connor, passing me a beer.
“Not me.” Protested another cousin of hers, who looked like Connor, but with green eyes. He shot his father a glare. He ruffled his hair, earning a small growl from him.
“Jason, I need you for a second.” Said Caleb seriously, and they both walked off to discuss something. To my understanding the other three littermates ran the other side of his father’s pack, and I believe it would be something I do with my pups. What I didn’t understand was why the small red haired she wolf, Heidi, walked out with them. I knew that was his sister, but it must have been something they didn’t want the others to hear.
“In light or night, we do what’s right. Friendship forever.” Teased her Aunt Shelly, and I saw her daughter look embarrassed as well.
“Remember when she wanted you to get her a real unicorn, so you got her that little white pony instead?” Asked her Uncle Connor, he ruffled her hair and she growled at him.
“A pony?” I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. She tried to deny it. She was so embarrassed that it made me chuckle.
“You sure you don’t want to ride Stardash? He’s still in the field behind the house.” Asked Kaiden and she screamed into a pillow.
“I hate all of you!” She snarled and they laughed. My little mate’s agitation at their light teasing was amusing, and she grunted in frustration. Our pups crawled to her feet, making noise as they did so. They were much faster than I remembered, and I couldn’t help but watch happily. She picked them up, and I noticed that their eyes were the slightest bit open. They were greyish blue. Most pups and cubs of beast held this color until they got a bit older.
“It seems the pups smelled you were agitated.” Said her mother, who came over with a cup of orange juice, and a little satchel that had their bottles. I had fed them already, but she had done us a favor.
“Bryson, why don’t you go outside, I got this.” Chirped Eclipse with a small smile. I figured it was because she wanted to talk to her child. I got up, and I went outside, dodging a clawed swipe from Kaiden’s brother. He was lucky I was full and in a good mood with his nonsense…
He chuckled, and gave me a firm pat on the back. “Lighten up.” He said with a goofy grin, and he earned a snarl. Their pups were outside as well, and they seemed to get a small kick out of this sillyness as well.
“Leave him alone.” Complained Kaiden, who slapped his brother on the back of the head, though I could tell it wasn’t enough to hurt.
“Bryson, we came outside because we didn’t want Isabelle to hear… but Heidi had a vision a moment ago…. You’re going to die.” Said Caleb with a small frown, and I wasn’t amused.
I glared at him like he was joking, but he was as serious as I was. I also saw the little red-haired girl timidly walk up to me.
“Um, that isn’t exactly it, but if you fight the wolf with brown and blonde fur, you’re going to …” she said quietly, and I bent to her eye level.
“Is that so? How.” I demanded, but I scared her. The others growled at me, and I rolled my eyes. It was something I picked up from my mate. This pipsqueak would be fine. I wouldn’t hurt my mate’s sister regardless if she smelled of dark magic.
“Um… you get shot with silver in the chest by his beta. He cheats…and I shouldn’t have said anything, but I was told to.” She said looking away from me, and then what Ven said dawned on me.
“By our father.” I said with my arms crossed. Her eyes flashed silver, and she took a step away from me. Her reaction said it all, but she seemed to be very timid by nature.
“He only created my soul…and is the source of my power” She said quietly, and I nodded my head. She kept staring in my eyes, and I realized she thought I was my wolf. I let my eyes flash black.
“Holy shit.” She stepped back, and Kaiden growled a little deeper. I had to link him that he misread me. They all were. I internally sighed.
“You misunderstand me. I won’t hurt you…. what of my mate?” I asked her quietly, but she was still pretty fearful of me.
“She was upset… here with the pups safe….You just feel so much like Him…” She said quietly and she left to go inside. She didn’t like me that was for damn sure, but the feeling was mutual… I don’t like magic casters…. Especially ones who smell that powerful.
“What are you going to do?” Asked Connor, but I shook my head.
“Well, he hasn’t done anything yet, and honestly, I would rather spend my last days with my mate than in battle.” I said casually, going inside. If I died, she would be fine. She could just go home, and Kaiden was more than strong enough to inherit my pack until my pups grow up. I knew that they were going to become as strong as the King, being born only the wolf.
Whatever you choose, I’m behind you. Linked Kaiden, but I didn’t look back. This news only made all the time I had with my family more precious. I smiled at seeing her argue with her brother. She argued that she didn’t name Kaizen after her father, she just needed a good name for our son, but he was just teasing her.
My pups were asleep in little balls in Isabelle’s lap, despite how loud she was growling. It was probably because they knew better. She was only joking around because she missed them. She loved her family, and didn’t want to leave, but we didn’t really have a choice. I had to eventually go back to ruling my enormous pack, and I needed my Luna at my side. I would not fight Ryan unless he gave me a reason and chances are, when I get home there will be.
The rest of the day, I let her socialize, because I think she knew without telling her that I was taking her back to the pack soon. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
“Bryson can you hold the pups while I go to the bathroom? She asked sweetly, and I thought nothing of it.

The pups were completely full, asleep and didn’t have a care in the world, while I wanted to know why everyone in my family, except mom and my aunt, went outside with my mate.
My first Victim was Jason. I hunted him down with my super senses, seeing he was in the living room, about 10 steps away, talking to my brother. I would have to separate them. If they were together, they wouldn’t crack, and I needed to know what was happening.
I casually walked to them, seeing my mate was talking with my mother. He seemed to like her most out of all my family members, and that made sense; she was the second person besides me that ever treated him like a regular wolf.
“No.” Said Caleb, before I could even try.
“Just tell me damnit.” I said impatiently.
“Cuz, you don’t want to know, plus it was just a vision. If we tell you, it will alter the result-ow!” He said being flicked on the ear by my brother.
“Izzy just chill about this one, I know you want to know, but if we tell you, it will probably be the thing to trigger the chain of events that cause the calamity to happen, ok? Remember when Heidi had the vision that Michelle was going to break her leg, but it didn’t happen until we told Aunt Shelly?” Said Connor, and Heidi saw us, and ran over to us.
“Don’t tell her!” She said angrily, jumping up and pulling them both by the ear. “I told you first because I thought you two were responsible enough to handle it.” They both had to fully bend over, and it got laughs from everyone else.
“Sis let me go!” Whined my cousin and she didn’t listen. She was fearless when it came to us, because she knew we wouldn’t do anything.
“You will release me!” Complained Caleb, but she growled at him.
“I’m warning you two!” She said sternly, letting them go, and then her angry gaze fell on me. “If you find out so help me, I’m erasing your memory.” She warned, and the packhouse was quiet. I didn’t know if she could do that or not…. but I didn’t want to find out.
“Lady, damn fine!” I complained, faking that I was annoyed, but really, it stressed me. What was so bad that she had to threaten me?
“Sorry,” She said sheepishly, and gave me a small hug. My mate’s gaze was stern, but to my surprise, he didn’t growl at her like I thought he would…. He agreed with her. It had to be something really bad…
“Heidi you’re scary when you’re mad.” Joked her mate, and she blushed a little. Wolves relaxed once they realized that she was just fooling around but I knew better. She was a very strong magic caster, created by the Horned One himself. She wasn’t that kind of witch to do that kind of thing to someone; that was the only think keeping her from being a scary campfire story.
Something was up, but for the sake of peace, I would drop it for now.
