The Prisoner’s Princess Chapter 138
Bryson
I walked through the door of… of all things the damn mall. He wanted my advice on what to get my mother. I said a keepsake or something, not knowing that there was a place that could get him those things here. On the outside of the building in the large city, it looked just like the other window-shopping stores, except for an alley of shops both up and downstairs.
“What about Old Dark Blue?” He asked, pointing at the store ran by succubus demons. They were very attractive, wearing clothes that were very revealing, and flirting with any male who entered, except us. It was well known that we had mates, and they respected that.
“I’ve heard my mate talk about this place. We’ve never been, but I was thinking of taking her to a human store one day.” I mumbled.
“Why wait? Son you’re literally the God of Retribution and Law…. Live a little.” He said rolling his eyes, and I paused.
He’d never done that before.
“I learned it from seeing your mate do it to you.” He giggled.
“Damnit.” I chuckled with him.
“Welcome Master and Young Master!” Beamed the clerk with a bow as we went in. Thankfully doors here weren’t so low that I always had to check, and the ceiling was very high. It was made for beasts 15 feet tall and under. I knew that because the threshold of the door had a horn clearance sign above it.
Inside Old Dark Blue there were many items to choose from. I figured women liked hoodies, shoes, and things…. But that wasn’t the case with wolves… material things meant nothing to a being who will destroy them with a single shift… but I think with mother… that she would be happy that she got anything.
I saw a hoodie with the logo on it, just words that read ‘Old Dark Blue’, and I figured That would be something she liked.
“What size would she wear?” I asked.
“Her mortal size?... I think with her height she would need a XL? Do you think she would want fabric though?” he scratched his chin.
“Master…. If I may.” Said the succubus who fearfully approached us. She was unlike the others, as she was objectively more beautiful than the rest of them. Her horns were larger, almost as big as mine, and her eyes were a flaming emerald. Her skin color was a dark ebony, but for some reason, I felt like I could trust her words.
“You may speak Lillitey’nya.”
“Perhaps she would like mortal things as we do… you gave me life when the world of men formed … yet even I appreciate anything given to me by my beloved Slyvik.” She said quietly.
“Ah, I remember making you. How goes life after your defeat?” He asked. “She tried to become the Succubus Queen in an attempt to overthrow Slyvik’lah’ish, the Demon Lord of Sex. He rules the Second Ring.”
“…well… um… we got married my lord….” She giggled shyly. “Afterwards I am the only female he pairs with.”
He laughed. “Well played. Technically you’re a Queen then. Congratulations. As I said I would not interfere… And he will not lay with other women because you sate all his needs. I cannot make mates, but pairs feel something close. I wish for my little ones to be happy with their forever spouse. He will not leave you, nor will he want for more.”
I picked up the hoodie, and put it in his hands.
“I know brand named items are good gifts. I say get her the hoodie, some perfume, and makeup since I’m sure she gets offerings of food all the time.” I said thinking about how he’s offered me food from his followers since the first time I was sent here…. Also, I said that to change the subject.
I was in hell. It would only make sense that there were lords of debauchery.
That didn’t mean that I wanted to hear about it though.
“Thank you son. I know she will appreciate this token.” He smiled wide, but soon, thousands of flaming raindrops fell from the sky. “I have so many to punish. Of Course They Appear Tonight.” He grumbled.
“Who are they?” I asked as we walked out, and other demons gave him fruits and candies.
“A mortal who gained your brother’s attention. Be careful whom you bless, or curse, you may be young, but a fourth of Tartaron belongs to you. Your lands meld into the undeveloped lands here, as this world is a never ending plain.” He smiled.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” I said walking with him, and I followed him through a black portal.
“Walk faster.” He complained.
“We could have walked.” I said not liking magic.
“That would be too slow.” He said excitedly, using more magic to make a large black basket. Inside were the clothes, shoes, and scented oils he got. He simply left with them, and I could understand that. He was King, they probably wrote off what he ‘bought’.
We landed in the courtyard of his castle, though the black, combed sand around rocks, green plants from the realm, and fruit trees were new. The plants were small, honestly shrubs, except for one mango tree that held an abundance on it. Those mangos were honestly the size of small watermelons, and the tree was as thick around as an oak. It had to be thousands of years old, but I wouldn’t expect anything else.
He slowly walked to an altar made of white stone, carved into mother’s likeness, with her hands together outstretched…. That was technically the first time I’d seen her since my birth… and she was a beautiful, full-figured woman with thick curly hair. The white marble was out of place here, but so were her gentle smile and downcast eyes… He carved it himself, and I had to admit, it almost looked alive it was so well done. The basket filled with fruits and a love letter as well, but I didn’t know when he had time to write it.
“When you live as long as I have, you have eternity to learn anything that catches your interest my youngest…. My love… please accept a basket filled with the fruit from the first tree we planted…. I brought it here to preserve it. It almost died, but I did all I could to keep my promise. It is free from Hell’s touch. I also got you fashionable lady clothes and undergarments... soon may we hold hands… This is the one night I can see you even here.” He said with a small smile.
The basket disappeared, but the statue’s benevolent smile became moving lips.
“I love you.” Said mother.
“I love you my small wife.” Said the Horned One. “Say something son. This is likely the only chance you will get for a while.” He said pushing me forward.
“Hello mother… I miss you.” I said truthfully. I wished I had a normal upbringing, that I knew what to do with my pups… “The little ones will attend the bonfire this year.”
“I have seen my grandchildren. It warms me…. I love you my youngest, and our blood …. I hope I can hold you soon…. But I regret that I missed doing that while you were a babe…. What… what is this? Beloved you did not have to send so much! There is so much energy here…. I cannot send you anything in return!” She said as if she were embarrassed, and the cheeks of the statue turned a rosy red.
He chuckled. “I know you cannot hear me now, but I love you so much… my small wife…. Bryson cherish the love your mortal mate gives…. Cherish her with the power of a god, and I will aid you myself should she be taken. I swear this. That was our end of the deal.” He said putting a clawed hand on my shoulder. He looked as if he were holding back tears. “Fuck I miss her….” He said quietly.
The sound of her voice was one I swear I remembered… “I do too… I feel robbed.” I said putting my hand on my chest. Was this what the love of a mother felt like…. Was This what my pups felt toward me?
“It is my youngest…. It is why she asks for prayers…. It is how she is able to use all she has for one night every few decades, sometimes centuries.”
“… Why did the rain increase?” I asked. The rain became a torrent that did not hit the ground in the city, but you could see it.
“Xaxas culled the wolves who threatened to kill his mate. He leaves the ones who serve on the counsel as examples, but about twelve thousand souls need to be judged.” His eyes glowed red momentarily. “They all stay in my room of judgment.”
“Why did he kill entire packs? I assume Jang and the Fourteenth seat live by your wording…”
“Yes, but he does not care. I would do the same thing. Kill them all; make the transgressor Suffer.” He snarled. “He will read their souls and cull every creature that ever dared be a threat to his mate, yours as well. He roams as a spirit, using the loophole I left him to exercise his authority.” He said waving his hand, and another black portal appeared.
“Take me to him.” I said seeing him smile.
“I would have stayed with the statue I made, but Lulliba is gone, and she will not be able to contact me for at least a century.” He said walking through a portal, and I followed.
Thousands of wolves were huddled in fear, but the sight of us made them all scream and cower. I could see that in the grand throne room. There were actually multiple thrones in this room, three in total… though the chairs were massive. They looked like they were for 12-foot-tall men.
The left throne held a Hammer, the center held the Horned One’s mark, and the third was Scales. The thrones were black, and the fabric was red, but the ‘room’ was more of a giant black floor with no walls, save the flaming one behind the thrones. In front of the center throne was a hole about 5 feet in diameter, that led to the other Rings of Punishment.
It was a pool of black and red bubbling magma, so that as they were tossed in by hulking, flying demons that stood at the corners of the immense square floor. There were also black serpents at each corner, ones big enough to be at least 500 meters tall…. Though only three were shifted.
Why they were there I had no idea, but they had the ability to become men. Men with hands. Men who could hold flaming swords. The only shifted serpent was in armor, wielding a flaming double-bladed scythe, and a flaming sword on his hip.
“This is my Room of Judgment. Xaxas, should he ever access his realm, will have his own Center Judgment Chair one day, as will you.” He said sitting. “Sit.” He commanded.
He was his true height, and the moment I touched mine, I was about 10 feet tall myself. Xaxas appeared as well, though he was see-through. I was as well. I almost felt stretched, but I would not say anything. I would allow their actions to speak for themselves. If I sat on a throne, my use as a Judge was needed, or likely just wanted.
“Mortals.” Said my brother with anger in his voice.
All our horns held the floating crowns, and I felt as a King again… I didn’t like that. I felt above the men below me, all kneeling on hands and knees on the black marble throne floor. There were thousands… all ages… all races…. Any who held to Jang, died last night but I did not blame him. All the while, hundreds more poured onto the slab, dropped on the stone by flying demons, since all did not land here. Those they held were partially eaten, but I felt no pity.
Xaxas had done me a favor… it made it easier to protect not only My mate, but His as well.
