“Alpha, may I collect my mother….?” Asked the girl submissively. All heads were bowed, and I felt almost as if I had taken a drug. I didn’t hear the pack swear their loyalties. I didn’t see past my own clawed hands. I was filled with testosterone, and I wanted more bloodshed, but there were none to punish. I nodded and she slowly walked to me, terrified at what I had done.

“I told him to leave you alone. I told him. He wouldn’t listen.” She mumbled, and I knelt to her eye level before her daughter got to her.

“Do not blame yourself, that is not what any Alpha would want of his Luna.” She shook at me being so near, and I could tell by the reflection in her brown eyes that mine were black right now. This color did not exist, so it only made her more fearful.

“Alpha, thank you for your kind words. Please allow us to stay in the pack… there is nowhere we could run.” She said looking at my feet.

“As long as you are no threat, I have no issue.” I told her. I didn’t feel this way toward the women. They hadn’t done anything. I wanted specifically the blood of my enemies.

“Thank you Alpha.” She whispered with a bowed head. Her mother looked at her blood covered hands, and back at her mate, but her daughter shielded her eyes.

Her daughter then grabbed her, and carried her away with a bowed head. She was a warrior by the looks of it, she hopefully could comfort her better than I could. I released my horns, and it relieved some of the intense desire for bloodshed with it.

“Hear me, OpalMoon. You are now BeastMoon. I am your Alpha. I would not come if I had not felt that your Alpha was a threat to my pups. I am no tyrant, but if you cross me, it will be the last thing you fucking do.” I roared, and none responded. They were afraid at what they had seen. I had defeated another Alpha without shifting. I had defeated him so thoroughly, that there was hardly anything of him left.

“Send his pelt to Alpha Ryan, my new neighbor.” I commanded to no one in particular, and a wolf timidly shifted, picking it up and slowly backing away.

“Mercy Alpha.” He mumbled quietly. He was his wolf, and he looked about ready to piss himself.

I walked to my new packhouse, not bothering to get stitches. It would heal on its own in a few days, and that terrified the wolves more. A cut this bad would need staples, pain medicine, and time to heal, but I needed none of that. I was a Beast; I felt no pain.

This packhouse was Victorian styled and brick. It was bigger than HalfMoon’s and I wondered would my mate like to live here instead. I did this for her…. she needed to be safe. I stood in the threshold of the door until I was tossed a pair of shorts.

I went upstairs and took the name off the nameplate on the door. I began looking for the Alpha login on his computer. I needed to figure it out, and I sighed. Someone was at the door, waiting to be allowed in. It was Chris’s son. I believe his name was Tokki.

“Sir I have a wet rag for you.” He said respectfully, tossing it to me.

“What do you want?” I asked him, and he stiffened up. Whatever it was he was going to say at first slipped his mind. I shut my wolf out in advance.

“I congratulate you on your conquest, Alpha.” He said with a bowed head and I pointed him to sit.

“You didn’t come all the way up here for that.” I watched him timidly sit, his mate was now at the door, looking fearful for his safety. They shared links, but he took a deep breath.

“I’m next, aren’t I?” He asked, looking me in the eyes with defiance. I would allow it.

“Depends. Are you a threat to my mate, pups, or pack?” I asked and he shook his head immediately.

“No Alpha, I’m not a coward.” He said and I showed him my fangs. I gave him a small snarl. I wanted to see what he would do. He was terrified, but he didn’t run away.

“It seems so.” I leaned back in my chair. This damn thing would need to be replaced; it creaked under my weight. “So go on ahead and tell me how much you hate the spawn of the Horned One for taking your old man away.” I saw the look on his face earlier. He hated me.

“That isn’t why I hate you…. I hate you because all you’ve done is take. I hate you because the fear you place in the hearts of your own pack…. And I do hate you for killing my father… but If he had done the same to Lilac, I would have done the same thing.” He gritted his teeth, speaking bitterly.

“You tell me that I take, but you still have the gift of life. Had I not released my horns back at the border, my wolf would have killed you before you finished. I also cannot control who fears me, and I have never killed an Alpha who didn’t fucking deserve it. You’re young. You will be given this mercy, though I suggest you take it and leave.” I told him, going back to my computer.

“Are you banishing me?” He asked concerned.

“I should kill you.” I stared at him with black eyes. “But no. I want you out my office dumbass.” I flicked him on the forehead, though I was careful not to crack his skull.

His mate slapped him so hard, that I saw spit come out his mouth, and she screamed at him down the hall. It put a smile on my face to know that there was someone so bold as to challenge me. Though, the kid was no older than 40, I could smell it. I rummaged around for the password so I could change the pack name and merge it with mine, but I gave up after an hour.

I would have to call the council to reset the password. I used the office phone on my desk, and called. Phillip answered.

“Bryson what are you doing at Opal? Don’t answer that. If you’re going to kill Ryan too, let me know now, because I’m going on vacation from you pups.” He snarled.

“No, just a password reset. The sniveling bastard probably remembers when I broke his legs a century ago.” I almost killed him, but there wasn’t a point, he would’ve been replaced.

“Ah, hang up and wait 5 minutes.” He said casually pecking on I assumed was his computer. “Oh and congratulations.”

“Thank you.” I hung up and waited. I now had 6 packs…. 10,452 wolves now called me Alpha. How did it get so big? Lady.

There was a tap at the threshold of the door. I motioned for them to come in. “I’m Beta Santos, and this is Gamma Oscar, we oath our blood to you sir.” They kneeled, and I cut my hand as well. They looked almost like twins, though one smelled much older than the other. They were brothers, both with raven black hair and dark brown eyes.

“And I oath my blood that I will be the best Alpha I can. Now what do you need?” I asked a little impatiently.

“Sir I know you’re down a Beta…. His father could come out of retirement if you wish.” He said respectfully.

“That’s fine. Beta Zackery is your superior, and I look forward to working with you.” I stood from my chair and shook their hands.

“Sir would you like me to round up any sacrifices?” Asked Gamma Oscar.

“What? No! Why would I want that?!” I yelled at him, and he submitted fully.

“I heard Delta Jima say that you ate the souls of the damned.” He retorted quietly.

“Please forgive my stupid brother.” Said Beta Santos, and I shook my head.

“Just get out.” I said with a sigh.

“…. Are we banished sir?” asked my Gamma and I growled at them both.

“No! Now get out!” I yelled at them, though I wasn’t as agitated as I sounded.

Zackery came with my phone and things, but I would leave my mate alone. She was busy with pups, probably asleep like she should be. I shook my head. I was not a soul eating cannibal…. Good Lady damnit. I stayed in the office until about 2 in the morning, organizing everything he left. It was a fucking mess. If he was alive, I would kill him again.

I could go home now.

I ran down the stairs, causing everyone in the living room to panic. I wondered did they see the smile I had on my face? I saw a minivan in the garage, and went back to get the keys for it, then a basket for the pups. He had other things, including some kind of sports car, but I didn’t need any of that. I needed my mate…

I zoomed down the interstate, not caring if I got a ticket. I could pay it; I needed to know she was alright. I needed to hold her, and smell her scent one more time. I didn’t question why I couldn’t retract my horns, or why I still felt bloodthirsty. It would most likely go away when I got back.
