I went to the bathroom in my room and grumbled. How dare they keep me out the loop… but if it meant that it would happen, then I wouldn’t have a choice but to leave well enough alone. I hated that. It made me feel like I was a pup! I washed my hands and looked at myself in the mirror. I had bags, and my hair was dull and less fluffy than its usual self. The birthing really had done a number on me, but I looked better than yesterday. I also put my hands on the thin lines on my face… it was almost unnoticeable, but I know my mate saw…. I bet he blamed himself for this. You had to really stare to see them… but they were there.

Why would he? Complained Glitter, and she was right, but permanent scars…. Not only are they rare, but even rarer on a she wolf. We didn’t usually fight males. Even if the she wolf warriors did, they were in a unit. Like my guards at the packhouse.

I left out my room a little down, walking down the hall. I heard noise in my dad’s office? I wondered how long I’d been up there, but I know my mother was in a heated argument with my dad.

“Izzy come here I want to ask you something.” Yelled dad, and I walked a little faster to see that my parents were in their office. They both looked angry, which was rare….

“Yeah dad?” I asked, sitting in his office chair.

“I love you, my smallest pup. I ask that you stay here a little longer, Luna Isabelle of BeastMoon.” He said formally, shooting mom a look.

“Dad I must formally decline, as I have responsibilities to my people.” I said flatly, shooting him a glare, and mom cried.

“Isabelle, please stay here…” She hugged my neck, and I patted her head. I loved my mother, and as strong as she was…. I’d only seen her cry maybe twice in my life.

“Mom I Have to go. There is no place for me here. as I am needed at my mate’s side. Without me, he’d probably be getting into allot of fights.” I chuckled, making a joke, but it made her more upset. She sniffled on me slightly, calming herself.

“Ok… but know we love you, and you’re always welcome here.” She said quietly, and Dad handed her some tea.

“Sorry I raised my voice.” He said softly, but his face was still stern. It was an Alpha’s way of pretty much saying that his mind wasn’t changed, and she accepted whatever it was.

“Sorry Shimmer bit you.” She said sheepishly. Honestly, mom’s wolf would be scary if she were Charred.

“Ah, babygirl don’t worry about it.” He said with a sly smirk.

I left without saying anything and there was a slap sound along with giggles. I figured. They can’t keep their hands off each other.

I felt a firm squeeze on my butt, and I whipped around crashing into the steeled chest of my mate. “I guess my hands slipped.” He said with a chuckle, and Grace wiggled in his arms. They softly squealed looking for me, and it warmed my heart, but pissed me off that they woke up out of their schedule.

“What did you do!” I said, grabbing my awake little babies, glaring at him.

“It’s not my fault I sneezed! How is it that you can growl at full volume, and they rest no problem, but I sneeze and they started screaming and I had no idea what to do!” He complained, and I full on laughed.

“They’re mamma’s boys and girl.” I giggled, because they quieted nearly instantly.

“Lady… I was coming up to ask did you want to stay with your family another week while I do one last patrol?” He asked with concern, but I shook my head.

“Bryson. I trust our pack that they are competent enough to protect me. You literally made an entire unit Just to watch me.” I complained and he kissed me on the forehead.

He hummed a deep hum before his eyes were black. “That does not settle with me little mate. Father will not save you a second time, I can feel it. You are my responsibility.” He grumbled, and I stood on tip toe to try and kiss him, but he didn’t bend down.

“Jackass!” I grumbled, and his wolf smiled.

“Oh, little mate…” He leaned down and kissed me softly on the lips, before pulling away mischievously.

“Don’t you ‘little mate’ me!” I snarled, going into my room, and he full on laughed at me. I had never heard his wolf do that, as this kind of thing is rare, but I was a little steamed regardless.

I sat on the bed, and watched my little ones crawl a little faster than yesterday… they were also growing like weeds. They were about one whole pound and a half a piece, though I needed to weigh them. Grace was starting to catch up in size with her brothers, though I knew…. She wouldn’t be as strong. It was just the way things were but I knew she was going to be able to do what I couldn’t. My dream was to be an Alpha, one so strong grown men would quake to their knees.

“But you have that.” Said Ven, eating of all things, canned peaches out the can with his claws. He must have put them up here.

“Yes, Ven but that’s because of You… I wanted to be like that on my own, but I’m not scary.” I complained and he chuckled.

“No. Tiny wolves are scary. I do not like your sister. She can do things.” He said honestly, and I shook my head.

“Ven, she’s probably the most timid wolf I know, well her and Mini… she’s not a wolf. You know what I mean.” I said and he smiled, looking at our pups.

“My little mate, you look tired… let me watch them.” He said shifting in my room. He was going to scratch up the hardwood and mom would be pissed, but I would take the help. He picked them up and put them on the floor, and nudged me until I was in bed. Sleep. He commanded me, but the sun was still out.

“Ven No, it’s only 3.” I complained and he put his paw on my chest to make me lay down.

Relax on your phone for a while then, but do not get up. I will not let you. He linked with a grin in his voice.

I grumbled a fine, texting Gabby while he played with the pups. Their eyes were barely open, so I doubt they could see very well, but they crawled, almost walking to him. They were absolutely helpless.

Gabby told me that the pack was running smoothly, but in a way I almost didn’t by it. I interrogated her, but she didn’t waver…. Then I had an idea.

I got Bryson’s phone.

They would lie to me, because no one wanted me to worry. I was still healing yes, but not so much that I needed to be put in the dark.

It wasn’t hard, he had his pants on the bed, and his wolf could give two shits about anything human.

Report. I texted Alex, trying to think like my mate would. I knew he wouldn’t question me if I messed up and didn’t sound like Bryson.

Alpha, sir everything is good. I did everything you said. He Responded quickly.

Details. I texted.

Alpha Ryan got Greg’s pelt, and his son challenged Zack and lost, but he’s in a holding cell for you… he responded back with a wax sealed letter for you to read when you return. Ryan most likely is begging for you to forgive him. We wrote the council from your laptop, and Alpha Phillip said he wouldn’t hold another trial, that anyone who challenges you forfeits that right if they die or get maimed. We added extra patrols in Half and BeastMoon areas of the pack, and All the Rogues have either joined and await you, were killed, or fled.

Good. what of the preparations for my mate? I texted him, feeling Ven was going to put the pups to bed, so he was distracted. They would be up again on their own about 7ish, when we had dinner.

Sir, we have combed through every wolf in this pack. Backgrounds as well as observation, and I would like to say she is safe. He texted, and I wondered would he be satisfied with that.

Good, but I want Half secure. We will be arriving in the morning. Thank you, Alex. I texted and then I mentally slapped myself after I sent it. He always calls him his full name! Fuck!

He didn’t text back, so he was either suspicious, or shit his pants.

Alpha don’t stress. I know it’s hard not to, but we got your back sir. He texted, and it touched me that he sent that.

“It touched me too.” Said my unamused mate.

I jumped, and he looked upset, but let out a sigh. “Ask him how many men are patrolling the north border.” He asked and I went with it.

Beta mobilized every warrior Sir. There isn’t a wolf on duty that isn’t looking out for you, even the pack wolves are volunteering. I think the total yesterday was 650 wolves at each major border, but we can send more from the other pack zones. Beta also gave him a personal call, being a former Alpha himself.

“Good. We will leave in the morning about 3am.” He scratched his stubble, and put each pup in bed with me, kissing me on the forehead. “Wildflower…” He said softly, kissing me on the lips. It was tender…. And I couldn’t wait to go home. He ran his hand through my hair and gripped it suddenly.

“Bryson.” I said gasping a little. He kissed me roughly, passionately, getting in bed with me, and I had to stop him. As aroused as I was getting, I couldn’t have him mating me in my old room.

“Are you not in the mood?” He asked with concern. “Are you still hurting?” He interrogated in a hushed whisper.

“No, but we are in my father’s house! Mate or not I will not disrespect him.” I whisper-yelled, and he huffed.

“Then allow me to go take a shower…” He mumbled, giving me one last kiss on the forehead.

“Go, my prince.” I teased and he smiled. He got a unicorn towel out my closet, and took a shower while I texted more wolves as Bryson. I wanted to know how everything was going from anyone that held rank if I could help it.
