My heart raced inside my chest as I stared at Enzo, my mind still processing the forceful kiss he had forced upon me just an hour ago. The memory of his tight grip and his lips on mine without my consent sent shivers down my spine. Anger and frustration bubbled within me as I did my best to avoid making eye contact with him.

"Don't tell me my jacket reminded you of that kiss we shared," he remarked, his voice dripping with confidence. But he appeared oblivious to the situation. He moved closer to me, his eyes filled with arrogance and a smirk on his face.

"Do you have no shame or remorse?" I snapped at him, my voice filled with bitterness. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his words.

"Okay, okay, I know I messed up," he said, his tone condescending, raising his hands in mock surrender.

"But it's not like you didn't want it at the moment," he shrugged.

I could feel the anger welling up inside me, threatening to overflow. How dare he try to justify his actions with such a pathetic excuse?

"I did not want it," I said it in clear words.

"You just don't understand, do you?" I muttered through clenched teeth, my voice quivering with rage.

"You had no right to force yourself on me like that," I added, watching him roll his eyes at me, as if I were being overly dramatic for his taste.

"Come on, Cynthia, don't be like that. It was just a kiss. No big deal," he sounded dismissive of my emotions and concerns. "I'm your mate. You should be happy I'm giving you some attention," he added arrogantly.

"No big deal?" I repeated, my voice rising in pitch. My jaw dropped in disbelief at his words. How could he be so clueless?

"You've crossed a line, Enzo. A line you should never have crossed," I wanted to shout until my throat bled.

"I know you enjoyed it. But maybe you're acting disgusted because you're scared. I might just tell Atticus that we shared a kiss," there was a hidden threat in his tone. I frowned and then scoffed.

"Go ahead, tell him. I don't care about what either of you think," I blatantly lied. In reality, I was deeply concerned about my reputation and couldn't let that happen.

"Really?" he smirked, casually running his finger over his bottom lip, making my jaw clench.

"You're repulsive," my voice barely came out in a whisper.

"You are so addicting," A wave of nausea washed over me at his words.

Before he could continue harassing me, we were interrupted. "Enzo! What are you doing out there?" Rosalie yelled from Atticus' room. She must have convinced Atticus to put the past behind them, but I didn't care anyway.

"Go, your mommy is calling for you," I whispered, making sure I said it quietly so that he didn't hear.

After Enzo left, I filled a bowl with soup and pondered how I would give it to Atticus now.

As I entered the room, I found Rosalie sitting on his bed beside him, and Enzo on the couch. I didn't want to show it, but my eyes involuntarily glanced in her direction, and a frown crept onto my face.

I bet he noticed.

"Here," I mumbled, sensing the sudden silence that descended upon the room as I walked in. Their eyes were fixed on me as if I were a new animal in a zoo.

"Thank you," Atticus whispered, his face lifting to meet my gaze.

As soon as I entered the room, Rosalie's intense gaze became apparent to me. I could sense disapproval in her eyes, likely because she was aware of what had transpired with Enzo. I tried to ignore her and focus on placing a napkin on Atticus' lap, but her presence weighed heavily on me.

"Cynthia, I need my coffee," she demanded in a stern and unpleasant voice. I could feel my anger rising at her words. How dare she treat me like this?

I straightened my back to turn around and face her. "I am--" Before I could retort, Atticus intervened.

"Go make yourself one," Atticus stated firmly, ensuring she met his gaze because he wanted her to understand that she couldn't mistreat me. She looked embarrassed, quickly glancing at all of us before nodding. I could tell her scheming mind was already at work.

"Do you know they kissed earlier? I was starting to think maybe Enzo had taken a liking to her," she laughed, trying to downplay it, but the atmosphere in the room grew tense as Enzo's expression hardened and Atticus narrowed his eyes in shock.

Rosalie's revelation to Atticus left me in shock. My palms grew sweaty, and my heart raced. I had no idea she would use Enzo and me kissing earlier in the day against me in such a way. I glanced over at Enzo, who appeared just as embarrassed as I was. Atticus seemed agitated, but I found myself at a loss for words. The tension between him and Enzo made the situation incredibly awkward. Even though I didn't owe anyone an explanation, I couldn't help but feel uneasy and trapped.

As the silence hung heavy in the air, the tension continued to build. I had no idea what to do or say to make things better. I wished I could just vanish. Atticus was studying my face with confusion, his lips slightly parted, and his eyes locked onto mine.

I was certain that Atticus was grappling with his thoughts. From seeing me in Enzo's jacket to learning about our kiss, it must have been quite unsettling for him.

"It wasn't--" Enzo attempted to explain, but there really was no explanation.

"It's true. Enzo kissed me," I admitted without averting my gaze from Rosalie, who clenched her jaw in response to my audacity for owning up to it.

But before Atticus could react, I added, "That's just how Enzo operates; he does whatever he wants, even if the other person doesn't consent."
