Rejected Their Broken Luna Chapter 65: Chap-65*Having Another Man In My Room.*
**Cynthia Dion:**
I glared at the person standing before me, a mix of defiance and fear in my eyes.
"What do you think you're doing? Why are you in my room at this time of night, Atticus?" I pushed my anxiety aside and demanded an explanation. He was acting so domineering and overbearing, ignoring the fact that he had coerced me into ruining my life.
"Why? Were you expecting your husband, your second mate, to come tonight?" He smirked, slamming his hand against the wall, blocking my way.
"It's none of your business what I do. He is my husband, and you mean nothing to me anymore. So, get out of here," I asserted. When I told him to leave me alone, I made sure to maintain eye contact, but the tension in his jaw indicated that I had only infuriated him further.
"Really? You're going to give me advice on what to do in my own mansion?" He leaned in close, glaring at my face and clenching his teeth. "Perhaps you're forgetting that this is my mansion, not your husband's. You settled for less," he sneered.
I avoided looking him in the eye; he had to lower himself to my level, and I had to lift my face to meet his gaze. Instead, I used the chain around his neck as a distraction to prevent eye contact.
"Settled for less? I didn't have the option to settle for anything. You forced us into this situation," I muttered, keeping my head down.
"You managed to trap him," his response shocked me so much that I had to raise my face and look at him in disbelief.
"What?" I scowled, struggling to comprehend what he had just said.
"You thought I didn't know about your scheme when you and your father brought him to the house to trap him, didn't you?" His eyes bore into me, his anger intensifying.
"Oh, you mean I trapped your precious baby brother-in-law," I scoffed, shaking my head in disbelief.
"Don't pretend to be so shocked, as if you have no clue what I'm referring to," he said, striking the wall lightly this time and raising his voice when I remained silent in the face of his accusations.
"When did you realize that your brother-in-law had feelings for me?" As I tried to piece things together, my chest felt heavy, and my breath caught in my throat.
He turned away and replied, "Before you even turned 18," hitting the wall with his hands and making me flinch.
"You were already making promises to accept him once you reached the legal age," he added.
"You rejec---Ted me because you tho---," I struggled to speak through my tears. It was all becoming clear now. That day at school, when he rejected me, it had all been because of Mr. Holt.
"Never forget one thing; I'm not Mr. Holt, who would fall for your tears," he cautioned me angrily, compelling me to meet his gaze. "Don't cry in front of me; your tears mean nothing to me," he pushed his body back before taking hold of my arm and pulling me a bit closer to him.
The explanation for why he had rejected me caught me by surprise, leaving me in a state of shock.
"I had no idea your brother-in-law was coming to my place for that reason," I'd had enough of their accusations. They were blaming a young girl who had just turned 18 instead of the man who had frequently revealed his true nature.
"Your brother-in-law can go to hell with you. Do you think I wanted to be his second mate?" Despite the tears in my eyes, I muttered angrily, glaring at him. Why had they turned against me like this?
"You kidnapped me, and that helped him get to me. He came as my savior," I yelled, pointing at my face to emphasize my point.
"You expect me to believe you after I caught you with him in the parking lot, don't you?" He scowled at me and made an attempt to grab hold of me.
"What? You're the one challenging me?" I shouted, seemingly unaware of the fact that it was nighttime and I was supposed to be alone. "I saw you kissing Rosalie at that house party."
The look on his face revealed that he was taken aback by the fact that I had seen him with Rosalie, which meant he couldn't pretend to be completely innocent.
Before we could continue our conversation, I heard his smartphone buzzing in his pocket.
"Yes? What's wrong?" He stepped away, his voice hushed. "Maleeka! Calm down and tell me what's going on."
"Oh, I... just wanted some answers," he muttered, causing me to realize that she knew he was in my room.
Wait! Did that mean Zeon had heard us talking?
"Alright, I'm going," he declared, ending his call with her. "Your husband suspects you have someone in the room. I've suffered enough in this web of betrayal and deceit. It's time he experiences the same," Atticus's eyes showed genuine emotion. It was quite clear that he genuinely believed that my father and I had attempted to trap Mr. Holt because we believed it would be easier to deceive him into providing us with money than trapping an alpha.
"You must be pleased with yourself for ruining another one of my nights," I muttered bitterly. He simply turned his face away, his jaw clenched tightly, indicating his frustration.
"Enjoy your wonderful night with your mate," his eyes held a mysterious mist, making it difficult for me to discern his true emotions. The blank look he gave me before turning away sent shivers down my spine.
Atticus managed to slip out of the room without being caught, but it provided me with little relief. Soon, Mr. Holt would arrive and begin questioning me, and I knew it wouldn't end well for me.
I hurried to my bed and huddled beneath the blankets, trembling at the sound of his approaching footsteps. I was shaking, my mind racing with thoughts of what he might do to me now.
