"I don't have any plans," his words made me close my eyes briefly and sigh in relief, until she added.

"That's not an issue. We can sit down together and come up with a good plan to take her down," she said, sounding excited but still crying heavily.

"There's no plan; there will never be a plan," he raised his voice, and my muscles relaxed.

"What do you mean by that?" She sniffled, not appearing very pleased with her brother.

"You just have to accept that your brother is a failure. I lost! I can't win with my heart. That girl--I can't breathe when I hurt her. Whenever I cause her pain, my wolf feels weak. I--and my wolf--we're captives of her love; can't you see I get sick when she's not around?" The way he said all of this in a shaky tone sent shivers down my spine.

"Atticus!" Maleeka gasped. I was also taken aback.

"It was her who drew attention to my health, and I'm feeling much better after this session," he mumbled, but she didn't even pay attention to it.

"I tried to seek vengeance against her, your vengeance against her, but it's painful! She sheds a tear, and it feels like a silver dagger stabbing my heart," he might be gritting his teeth because I heard a hint of sob in his voice.

"It's okay. Why don't you watch the tapes? Huh? They'll make you angry," she suggested in a panicked tone. The mention of tapes made me furrow my brows and stay focused.

"Nothing works, it doesn't matter if she cheats on me right in front of my eyes; nothing really works," he shouted at the top of his lungs before he calmed down and gasped at himself.

"Atticus! Then leak the videos. Once the world constantly tells you what she is, you'll hate her too. Or you can just expose her and keep her as your slave; nobody will question the alpha of the pack," I was shocked by her suggestions; she disliked me so much that she was proposing her brother become this evil figure and completely ruin me.

"NO! I won't allow anyone to do that," his voice took command. "I'll get you a new house, or I can get Cynthia a new house; we'll move out, but nobody is tarnishing her reputation again," the anger in his tone surprised me.

"I want those videos," she said in a flat tone. "Tapes?"

What were these videos they were discussing?

"No!" Atticus stated firmly. "This conversation ends here. You can't keep your beloved husband with you while expecting me to punish my mate." I felt like I needed to leave before he came out and saw me. I'd heard enough; my heart was reassured about Atticus's intentions toward me, but I would still be cautious around him.

I heard footsteps, and instead of leaving, I rushed back to the hallway behind our rooms. I was pretty sure Atticus was going to the garden, and Maleeka would probably follow him to eavesdrop on his conversation with my father. So, I stayed there, positioning myself near the corner, just in case someone came by and I needed to hide in the storeroom. As I approached the storeroom, I heard moans and groans from inside. It wouldn't be the first time I heard those noises.
