Eva was hanging out with Maleeka a lot after that day. She told Zeon that Maleeka apologized and promised to act well around her. Although he didn’t believe Maleeka, he couldn’t force Eva into deciding who to hang out with and who to ignore.

He was just too concerned because Eva was too pure in her heart. One day, when Zeon was sent to the councillors for some pack-related stuff since he was supposed to be the royal beta of the pack in the future, Maleeka visited Eva.

She knew Eva would be alone at home, so she didn’t want to miss this opportunity to mess things up for her. She has heard from Eva’s friend that Eva was pregnant, and it has enraged Maleeka.

She was glad she heard her friends talking because she was ready to do any dirty job in order to stop Eva from giving Zeon an heir.

"I am so happy," Eva was pleased, clapping hands every two minutes and imaging having a child with Zeon.

"You two got married, too. I am surprised you hid it from me," Maleeka was not at all there to celebrate with her. She was just angry that they did all that behind her back.

The more they were getting into a serious relationship, the more Maleeka was feeling like she was going to lose Zeon.

"I am sorry! Zeon and I cannot afford big events. And if you were to get invited, it would have caught your eye. It was just a small little gathering," Eva stole eyes from her as she served her food.

It wasn’t the truth, actually; Zeon wasn’t comfortable inviting Maleeka to the mating ceremony.

The good excuse he gave to Eva was that Maleeka might feel lonely if she attended the ceremony.

"Oh! We are missing fresh juice," Maleeka suddenly frowned, and Eva got on her feet to rush into the kitchen.

Taking some crushed pills out of her bag, Maleeka instantly mixed them into Eva’s food.

"Here!" Eva sat down again and started finishing her food. After the two were done eating, Maleeka made sure she stayed behind for Eva to finish cleaning the dishes.

"I will head home now," Maleeka pretended to be tired, hugging Eva goodbye. She noticed the color change in Eva’s face but didn’t point it out.

She wanted to be out of here before the pills did their job. Once Eva was left alone, she started to feel like throwing up.

"Ugh! What is happening to me?" She complained to herself, her head dizzy and her throat gagging. It was then that she dropped to her knees and passed out.

By the time Zeon arrived home, he found her passed out on the floor. He was beyond devastated when he took her to the hospital, and the doctors told him she had passed out.

He asked for the reason, and all they could tell him was that she was weak and probably not taking care of herself. They were paid a good amount to not tell Zeon the truth about Eva being poisoned.

It was indeed a difficult night for Zeon. The doctors constantly trying to tell Zeon his mate didn’t take care of his baby didn’t make Zeon believe them.

He was concerned about her and would never blame her. Life without her was impossible for him. If there was anything he wanted in his life, it would be Eva.

After Eva got discharged from the hospital in the next two days, Zeon brought her home. She hadn’t spoken to him or anyone. She was feeling this emptiness that she couldn’t explain after losing her baby.

"It will be all fine, we will be given other chances too," Zeon was sitting beside her and convincing her to eat something, but she wouldn’t open her mouth and take a bite.

"I lost our baby," she repeated herself. That was the only thing she had been saying in days.

"Eva! You need to understand and realize you cannot punish yourself for something that isn’t your fault. Those doctors didn’t know what they were talking about. They were not here with you to say you were not taking care of yourself. Just forget about it. We will have another chance; we will have a baby together," it broke his heart watching her drift into a pit of sorrow because of those doctors.

"Please?" After much convincing, she finally accepted her fate and promised to move on and live her life to the fullest.

It took him some time, but he saw a good change in her again. She had skipped school all these days, and Maleeka tried her best to spend time with Zeon now that Eva wasn’t with him. She wasn’t successful in doing so because Zeon was highly allergic to her company now, it seemed.

Things were back to normal, and Eva was once again attending school and sticking around with Zeon when, after a month, she received the good news again.

She shared it with Zeon, and the two celebrated it happily. Eva agreed with Zeon regarding getting a second chance. This was their second chance, but little did they know there was somebody not happy once again.

She was devastated because now she couldn’t send Zeon anywhere or poison Eva because it would be too obvious for Eva to catch her. She cannot be the only one visiting her, and hours later, Eva has a miscarriage.

Eva had finished taking a class and was headed downstairs when Maleeka started chasing after her. She was beyond frustrated and annoyed.

It appeared to her that she felt like she would not have a second chance if she didn’t do anything right now. So she did whatever her mind could come up with at that time. Without looking downstairs and spotting a teacher, she rushed forward and pushed Eva downstairs, who didn’t know Eva was coming after her until she landed down and laid there with her eyes staring at Maleeka, running away from the crime scene.

Her body seemed to be paralyzed for a moment before a pool of blood covered her.

"Hey! Oh, MY GOD!" Mrs. Dion, a teacher and Cynthia’s mother, rushed for her aid. "We need an ambulance," she screamed at the top of her lungs while Eva passed out.
