Werewolf
Rejected Their Broken Luna Chapter 107: Chap-107*The Mate He Never Wanted.*
**Cynthia Dion: **
"Rosalie!" I heard the guys say it together, but it was my argument. I'm gonna do things my way.
I flung the door open, startling them, and stormed into the room. She looked furious, and my arrival only made it worse for her.
"Is that why you're all here tonight?" I began shouting, fed up with it all. "What's going on?" Atticus frowned at me.
"I don't want you to bring me more problems, alright?" I blurted out, disregarding his buddies behind him.
Rosalie and Enzo kept their eyes fixed on my face.
"And care to tell me, what've I done this time?" Atticus placed his hands on his hips and gave me a once-over.
"Just stay out of my business," I grumbled.
"Why don't you give her a good talking to, to remind her how she used to meddle in everyone's affairs and mess things up?" Rosalie interjected, making my blood boil.
"You don't need to school him. I'm sure he's old enough to make his own choices," I tilted my head and shouted at Rosalie, surprising her because she probably didn't expect me to stand up to her.
"How dare--," she began, as if she was about to charge at me, but Enzo grabbing her arm put a stop to it.
"Is nobody gonna tell him not to talk to me like this?" Rosalie yelled in frustration, but neither Enzo nor Atticus took a stand for her.
"Enzo, can you please take her away for now?" Atticus rolled his eyes when mentioning her became dramatic. She had her mouth wide open in shock.
"You don't need to ask anyone to give me a ride. I'm not like Cynthia, who relies on her mates to chauffeur her around," Rosalie groaned, but it was clear she didn't plan to leave.
"Now tell me, what's bothering you?" Atticus asked.
"I heard what she was saying," I replied, pointing at Rosalie, who unfurrowed her brow and rolled her eyes at me.
"Regardless of what's true, you expect us to keep quiet?" She shouted back at me, causing Atticus to close his eyes in frustration at her refusal to be silent.
"I'm not a fey," I declared, raising my voice.
"Ah! That's why you're so upset--because you heard that I'm going to expose you," Rosalie scoffed loudly, breaking free from Enzo's grasp and making it appear as if she wanted to confront me.
"Rosalie! Don't you see me standing right here?" Atticus finally turned to her and yelled so loudly that she gasped and stepped back.
Enzo appeared upset, but not at me – at Rosalie for constantly pushing Atticus' patience.
"As for you!" He then pivoted to face me, and I stood my ground, lifting my chin and maintaining eye contact with him.
There was a brief moment of silence before he shook his head to continue.
"I know you're not a fey," his tone softened.
"How? She just mentioned a few hours ago that she has all these mates. How is that even possible?" Rosalie argued, clearly displeased with Atticus' protective stance toward me.
"Rosalie!" Enzo muttered under his breath, attempting to pull her away from us, but she once again shook herself free.
"You two are Alphas, and you're supposed to look after your pack--don't let a fey roam freely, and certainly don't defend her," she persisted, trying to provoke them to put me before the Council.
Her discovering this was not a favorable development. I'm certain she tried to find a reason why I have so many mates, especially when I made it clear that Enzo is one of them.
"Mr. Holt is her second chance mate, and she is also his second chance mate," Atticus began to clarify, but it still didn't explain why I was the first mate of both Atticus and Enzo.
"And Enzo! Do you have something to add?" At that moment, Atticus approached him and gave his shoulder a gentle pat.
I was perplexed by what he wanted Enzo to say to me.
Enzo nodded and approached me with his head lowered, then raised it, locking eyes with me.
"You are not my first mate," he said with a shrug, causing me to frown.
"What?" I asked, taken aback.
"You're mistaken!" Rosalie shouted, swiftly moving toward him and gripping his arm to turn him toward her.
"Why would I lie?" Enzo questioned.
"You never sensed a mate bond with me," Rosalie argued.
"Rosalie! You're not the only she-wolf in the pack or in the world," Enzo wore an annoyed expression.
Rosalie seemed to think that if he didn't feel a mate bond with her, he couldn't feel it with anyone else.
"Then who was it?" she persisted in pestering him.
"Rosalie! He doesn't need to answer all that. Just know that the Council is already aware of this issue, and it's been proven to them that Cynthia is not a fey," Atticus interjected, coming to Enzo's rescue, though it was clear Enzo was oddly secretive about his mate.
"Now, if you don't mind, you should leave," Atticus told Rosalie, who appeared offended but remained bewildered.
"I'll drop you off at your car," he ensured her departure, walking toward the room's exit with her following. As they left, I turned to Enzo.
"Is it true? I wasn't your first mate?" I inquired, and after a brief pause, he nodded.
"Then who is it? If you don't mind sharing--," I didn't even have to ask him a second time because he ended up saying it himself.
"Natalie Brooke!" he replied.
"Mrs. Virginia's daughter?" I was utterly surprised. She was a teacher at our school and was particularly active during the contest form-filling phase. The same teacher who had about half of her wolf visible on her body.
"Did you turn her down because of her mother?" I asked, and he shook his head vigorously.
"Natalie is just strange and overly attached. Or in simple words, she is very clingy and weird. She gave me the creeps," he shared, not holding back any information.
