Werewolf
Rejected Their Broken Luna Chapter 187: Chap-187*The Bitches Planning Against Me.*
Cynthia Dion:
I don’t know how long they stayed out because it seemed like only an hour when my bedroom door opened and closed. I was jolted awake by the noise, straightening my back to see who had come to my room.
"Atticus! Weren’t you supposed to be with them?" I rubbed my eyes in confusion, glancing at the clock on the wall. He had come early. I thought they would at least take a few hours because Mara had made some plans for a movie night as well.
"Well, as soon as the food arrived, I packed it and dashed here. I mean, I wasn’t really feeling the vibe, and besides, you were here," he said, holding the food bags with a sweet smile.
"You didn’t have to skip the celebration plans for me," I didn’t want to focus on him, on us. There might come a day when I will finally be able to forgive him, but it is too soon for now.
He sat down on the bed and shook his head very steadily. "I couldn’t eat thinking you were left alone," he didn’t raise his eyes at me when talking about being worried about me.
"I will not bring any sort of harm to your sister," I whispered, and he only nodded his head. "I don’t know what proof you have, but trust me, I am not a monster." It just broke my heart that everybody thinks I am capable of murdering unborn babies.
"I know," he mumbled under his breath, "that's why I'm looking into it now with an open mind and accepting all sorts of possibilities as to why all that happened," he managed to speak a lot without giving out much.
"For now, let’s eat," he handed me a plate that he had brought and assisted me with the steak burger, my favorite.
"I actually wanted to know about your family," he suddenly brought up my family, and a frown appeared on my forehead.
"What about my family?" I inquired, and he cleared his throat while pretending to be too busy with the sauce.
"Umm, like, who was your mother? What was she like--what--" he paused once he realized it was making me curious.
"Why would you want to know about my mother? Please tell me you don’t think I got this serial killer gene from her," I put the food down because it just annoyed me. I understand he was trying to help, but why not just accept the possibility that I didn’t do anything instead of imagining why I did it?
"No! It is not what you think it is. I just came across something, and since you have never mentioned it before, I got a little curious," he corrected instantly so that he doesn’t piss me off, "Did you know your mother used to be a teacher?" he asked, and I recalled Flora and I always talking about it.
"Yes!" I nodded my head. He let out a little sigh in response.
"Did you know that she was also teaching a class in our school?" As soon as he mentioned that, I just felt a little lost.
"I actually don’t know much about her because that man I used to call dad would never let us talk. I just know that she taught at a few different schools. Why?" I asked once again, as my curiosity piqued.
"It’s just becau---se---nothing," he suddenly dropped the subject while I stayed looking at his face.
"Tell me what it is," I insisted, but I knew he didn’t have full information, so he wouldn’t tell me no matter what I said.
"I will try to get more information and will then let you know. Hey, I think I will take some rest now," he got up on his feet to take the food plates back to the kitchen, and I noticed how tired he was. He had been taking care of the mansion, doing office work, and even studying for exams. He was under a lot of stress, and somewhere between Maleeka and my fight, we had forgotten to take care of him.
"Why don’t you change and rest? I will take these to the kitchen," that would be the first time I offered to lighten his load. He looked impressed but didn’t point it out.
Once he had left for the bathroom, I walked out with the plates and noticed the cars in the driveway. The others must have arrived too, because Atticus and I spent a lot of time talking and eating. I am pretty sure they dropped the idea of watching a movie once Atticus left them. They would die before leaving the mansion alone for the two of us.
I reached the kitchen and noticed Mara and Maleeka inside.
"I am telling you she will not rest. She was looking at your belly like she would rip it open and kill the baby inside you," Mara was whispering things to Maleeka, scaring her. Little did she know, Maleeka is also someone who lies about me spilling the oil for her so that she loses the baby.
"I don’t know. Did you not see how Atticus got upset when I said the same thing? I cannot keep pressuring my brother; he will get upset," she argued back and explained why she wasn’t fighting with Atticus about this topic anymore.
"Listen, I don’t mean to be pushy, but I too have needs. I want Atticus to accept me before I end up in a mess," Mara muttered, but I knew what it was all about.
"Wait! I got an idea," Mara said, displaying a sudden excitement that intrigued me. She must be up to something very evil, or else she wouldn’t smirk so widely.
"What is it?" Maleeka was all ears. The two would do anything to make Atticus kick me out of the mansion.
"What if you pretend like somebody pushed you?" Mara talking about a plan made my skin crawl.
"What?" Maleeka acted like she had not accused me wrongly before.
"Just sit on the floor and start crying when Cynthia and I are around. I can become the witness, and Cynthia will come off as a crazy bitch who tried hurting you and your baby," as she explained further, Maleeka looked convinced.
"Are you sure it will be the right thing to do? We are going to wrongfully accuse her," Maleeka seemed like she wanted to do it but was confused regarding whether it was the right or wrong situation. What I didn’t understand was the fact that she had done it before too.
"Think about your child. Your child needs this. If she stayed here, she would make sure you didn’t get to see this baby ever again," Mara was on and on about how it is important that they plan all this, and I was just shocked; she was really an evil person.
"Fine, I wi---ll do it just for my baby," Maleeka had finally been convinced, and now it was going to be a battle against them.
"Great! I can’t wait for her to be kicked out of here and Atticus’s life once and for all," Mara grunted as she exposed herself even more.
