Werewolf
Rejected Their Broken Luna Chapter 178: Chap-178*Finally, Respected.*
Cynthia Dion:
"What do they want to talk to me about?" I asked, as I couldn't recall them ever being fond of me.
I'd heard that Rosalie had woken up and was feeling much better, but I hadn't had a chance to see her again.
"I don't know, but you don't need to worry. I'll be there with you," he said softly, reassuring me that I'd be fine with him by my side.
"Ah! Thank you for offering to help, but I can handle it myself," I didn't want to say it to him, but my newfound confidence made me feel capable of anything. Now that I didn't have to worry about my health either, I believed I could stand up to anyone I wanted.
Although I should thank him for all his help, I'll just consider it his way of making amends.
"That's great," he said, taking a deep breath before adding, "shall we go out?" He gestured to the door, and I led the way. We walked out to the garden, where everyone was gathered. Rosalie appeared a bit weaker than before, but Enzo looked genuinely pleased to be there.
Mara and Maleeka were seated together, glancing at me and whispering in each other's ears.
I knew they were eagerly waiting for me to be humiliated by Rosalie, as Enzo's mother had accused me of some things the last time. Mr. Holt remained silent, not moving a muscle, but he kept glaring at me.
I sat down with Atticus and watched as Rosalie prepared to speak to me.
"I wanted to come here and meet you in person to say what I'm about to say," her smile was very reassuring; it didn't seem like something that would bring out negativity.
"Of course, you can say whatever you want, but trust me, it won't have much of an effect on her. She's stubborn," Maleeka mumbled, crossing her arms and frowning when Atticus shook his head at her.
Rosalie listened silently and then turned her attention back to me.
"I don't know how I can ever go back in time and prevent myself from being mean to you, but I do know that you've proven me wrong," she began in a completely different way from what others had expected from her.
"Cynthia! No matter who was there that day, not even my closest friends. I can't believe they would risk their lives like you did. The way you stood up for me, offered yourself to him on my behalf, and carried me knowing it could be deadly for you--all for your bully? Who does that?" Tears welled up in her eyes, and just hearing it made me teary-eyed too. "We all thought you were this mean person who just wanted to take others' partners and hurt them." She paused as her tears began to choke her. The others were surprised. Mr. Holt looked down, disappointed by what she was saying.
"I can't thank you enough; you-- you proved everyone wrong," she weakly smiled at me and then sniffled. "Cynthia! Please forgive me for being mean to you," tears streamed from her eyes, and she got up in a hurry.
My heart raced as I watched her grasp my feet and cry.
"Hey, Rosalie!" It made me feel uneasy. "I didn't do it for this. I did it because I never want any she-wolf to go through what I've experienced." It was tough to talk with so many eyes on us.
I took hold of her arms and helped her to her feet. "You know, you realizing your mistake and talking to me is good enough for me," I smiled, and she embraced me immediately.
"What!" Maleeka quietly muttered, clearly shocked.
"I don't believe what others say about you," Rosalie let go of the hug and held my face in her hands. "You're a real hero." As she spoke those words, Maleeka stood up abruptly, tears streaming down her face, and hurried back into the mansion.
"It's okay, Zeon will go and check on her, won't you, Zeon?" Atticus was urging him not to sit around like a prince and to put some effort into making Maleeka feel better.
Zeon nodded and unsteadily rose to his feet, his eyes sending me a warning, but I wasn't scared of him. I had plans for him. If only he knew what was in store, he might beg for mercy.
After we all patched things up, Mara excused herself and walked away from us because she was too angry to see me being praised by everyone. Atticus stayed quiet. I'm sure Rosalie's words had a strong impact on him.
With just the four of us now, Enzo straightened up and said, "I know you want to discuss rejection as much as I do. I think it's the right time. But please, can we remain friends afterward?" He seemed very sincere. I nodded with a smile.
"And then we ca---," but just as Rosalie was about to speak with a smile on her face, Atticus interrupted her.
"Wait, let them reject each other first," he clearly wanted it to happen soon.
"I, Luna Cynthia, reject you as my mate," I told Enzo.
"I accept your rejection, your highness," he smiled.
Rosalie and Enzo left a few minutes later, and my father came out of the room.
"Have breakfast; it will make you feel better," I offered my father, and I glanced at Atticus, who was happily filling a plate for my dad. It stung because he was prioritizing me over his sister, even though he still believed I had wronged her. He was accepting to defend me no matter how horrible I was proven by some faulty proof.
"Why don't you go and check on Maleeka?" I whispered to Atticus, who looked at me in confusion.
"Thanks," he smiled weakly, stood up, and walked into the mansion.
"Why don't you go and see what they're discussing?" My father looked up from his plate and suggested. I rolled my eyes in response. Some people never change.
"They're siblings; they can have a private conversation," I rolled my eyes again, but my father's expression remained unchanged.
"You know she dislikes you. Why don't you think smart and listen in on their conversation?" The way he put it, I felt like it wouldn't hurt to eavesdrop on them a bit.
