I was still in his arms while everyone was rising to their feet, coming out of our house and neighboring homes to see what was happening. The audacity of them to still be able to show their faces after what they have done baffled me.

"Before you claim we can't give her a deserving title of a slut, our lord, we've got the green light," Mr. York added, just to be on the safe side in case Atticus starts losing his mind again. I was badly wounded but still staying awake because I didn’t want to pass out and miss any decision made against me.

“She is a no one anymore,” he said.

"Hm!" Atticus gently placed me on the ground, steadying me on my feet by gripping my arms.

"If that's the main worry – that she's no longer somebody, then I'll turn her into somebody tonight," Atticus made certain they were all taken aback when he proclaimed that. My thoughts were a jumbled mess. Each word was a headache, but I remained in place because he was keeping me on my feet with a firm grip.

"What do you mean, your highness?" Mr. York's tone shifted as he grasped the gravity of their actions and the fact that Atticus had to take action now.

"I, Atticus Snow, the Alpha of the Eclipse Warriors Pack, accept Cynthia as my mate," the instant he uttered those words, everyone gasped, myself included.

I raised my head and met his gaze. "Furthermore, I will finalize the marriage documents before taking her home with me. Now, having said that, you've all transgressed against the pack's Luna."

Those words and the mention of that title sent shockwaves through the ground beneath me.

"From this moment onward, she is the Luna and my wife, my mate. Let's see anyone dare to speak against her," Atticus's booming voice reverberated through the air, and then an awkward silence followed before my father began applauding.

After Atticus publicly acknowledged me, he drove me to the werewolf counseling session, with my father accompanying us in the car to officiate our marriage.

"Are you absolutely certain you want to marry her?" the elderly man inquired, casting a sidelong glance at me.

"She is my mate," Atticus declared, seated in his chair, while I occupied a separate one, donning his coat.

My wounds still throbbed, and all I wanted was to rest, but he wasn't paying any heed and brought me here.

"Did you inform your sister about your intentions?" the werewolf lawyer inquired, keeping a close eye on me and then turning to Atticus.

"Why? Am I a 9-year-old who can't do anything without his sister's consent?" Atticus seemed rather irritated by the question.

"That's not what I meant. Well, if that's your choice, then..." Before the lawyer could continue, I interjected.

"I am not marrying you," my words were met with a taunting chuckle from the lawyer.

"Show some professionalism," I scolded the lawyer, making eye contact with him as he made a spectacle of himself, acting like a teenager.

"I'll leave you two to have a moment," the lawyer stood and exited his office, allowing us to discuss this further.

"I said I'm not marrying you," I reiterated before Atticus could inquire why I had refused.

"Weren't you there when all that happened? People will tear you apart if we don't grant you a name and status now," he argued, turning his attention towards me.

"Then I'll marry Jack; I'm certain he'll be willing to--," I was in the middle of speaking when Atticus grunted and cut me off.

"I don't want to hear his name again. His father attempted to--do you not grasp the situation? Are you that naive?" He added with anger, smacking his own forehead. "And what's with you all of a sudden, forgiving Jack? Is he your new goal--," as he mentioned that part, I assisted him in completing the sentence.

"My new goal? Why are you so determined to protect me when you believe I'm a... and everything horrible that's occurred is my fault? Why?" I wanted to raise my voice, but my swollen lip was holding me back.

"Cynthia! We can argue as much as we want, but this must be done," he said, pen in hand, extending it to me. "See! These people won't stop until they achieve their desires. Just sign the darn papers," he said, gritting his teeth, growing more forceful with each passing minute.

"No!" I shook my head, adamantly refusing to marry him. "And you must reject me immediately," I stated with firmly pressed lips, my gaze fixed on him.

"I will, once this entire mess calms down in a month, alright? We have an agreement," he waved the pen assertively at me, but I refused to accept it once more.

"That's what your brother-in-law told me, and just look where I am now," my utterance of those words caused him to lower the pen and zone out for a moment.

"I wi--ll --I will locate your sister if you sign these marriage documents now," once he snapped out of his momentary daze, he presented me with a proposition he knew I wouldn't be able to decline.

"Cynthia! I won't only track her down, but I'll ensure you two reunite," he added, and the anger on my face began to dissipate. My sister was all I had left, and I longed to see her once more and ensure she was safe.

"Now! Will you sign these marriage papers?" He held the pen up again, and this time, I couldn't refuse. I reached out steadily, taking the pen from his hand. He motioned for the guard to bring the lawyer back in and adjusted his seat.

"And I'm nothing like Zeon Holt. I'll keep my word," he whispered before the lawyer rejoined us.

I was still reeling from what had transpired; I stayed quiet, drifting in and out of sleep. We completed the marriage paperwork, and that marked the end of the night. I was now legally wed to the Alpha and had also become the Luna of the pack.
