Zeon’s confession of love to Eva has left everyone in shock. Prior to this day, everybody assumed Zeon was going to accept Maleeka, but it all changed. Zeon didn’t hesitate to send back everything Maleeka had bought him in order to keep him to herself. He had cut ties with Maleeka entirely and had Eva move in. He was back in his old home, but because Eva was happy there, he didn’t feel any difference. In fact, he liked it more that way.

One day, when Eva had fallen asleep, Maleeka kept blowing up his number. It had been months since Zeon and Eva had moved in together. He had been taking care of her in school to make sure nobody bullied her. He knew the instant he left her alone, Maleeka would approach her to say something.

"Talk to her; give her closure," Eva finally raised her face and told Zeon to speak to Maleeka.

"I have many times. She is not ready to understand anything," Zeon got up from behind Eva as he unwrapped his arms from around her and picked up the phone.

"Just talk to her one last time," Eva felt bad for Maleeka. She felt like Maleeka needed someone to love her. Agreeing to Eva’s idea, Zeon got out of bed and attended the call as he exited the room.

"What’s wrong, Maleeka?" Zeon asked in a tired voice. He knew Maleeka had used her money to blind him. Although he didn’t entirely blame her because it was his own personal choice to pick money over Eva at that time, he was getting annoyed with her contacting him over and over again now.

"I want to know what you see in her. What is it about her that you cannot see in me?" Maleeka was sitting in her armchair, drinking herself to no end, and crying.

"Maleeka! I love her. There is no other answer," Zeon was tired of telling Maleeka he doesn’t love her. Even when she was bombarding him with gifts, he never made a move or told her he liked her. Whenever she would use words like babe or baby, he would frown and sometimes even stop her, but Maleeka was stubborn.

"Fine. I understand that you don’t want me as your mate, but can we at least remain friends?" She was sobbing and begging a beta member of her pack to accept her. Zeon shook his head as he saw the time. It was over midnight, and she kept going on.

"That’s not possible," he answered, imagining Maleeka getting closer to them so that she could be mean to Eva.

"Is it because Eva doesn’t like me?" She grunted, but hid it perfectly. All he could hear were her words mixed with whimpers.

"Eva has nothing to do with it. She is the one who persuaded me to attend your call," Zeon raised his voice at her when he heard her talk about Eva. She was shocked and disappointed that, in order to speak to her, Eva had to convince him.

"Go to bed, Maleeka," Zeon yawned and cut the call. He couldn’t tolerate hearing her cry to gain his sympathy and talk badly about Eva.

"So Eva is who I need to convince Zeon," Maleeka muttered, cleaning the tears from her cheek and thinking of a plan.

"Even if I have to befriend her to get closer to you, I’ll do it," Maleeka determinedly devised a plan. The next day, Maleeka waited for Eva to be alone, which was almost never. There were only twenty minutes after school when Zeon would go to get her food, and together they would sit down and eat in a park. Maleeka had made her way to the park so that she could talk to Eva without wasting a minute. Once she saw Zeon leaving, she instantly came into Eva’s view. Eva had no clue she would find Maleeka in the park, so she was caught off guard.

"Maleeka!" Eva got up on her feet when she saw Maleeka’s face. She was expecting some insults to be thrown her way.

"I want to talk to you," Maleeka used a very calming and soothing tone to get her attention. She knew Eva was afraid of her, so the first thing she had to do was come off as sweet as she could be.

"About what?" Eva asked softly, feeling a little scared of Maleeka.

"I know I’ve been nothing but mean and rude to you. I was being a fool and insecure about you," Maleeka paused because she knew Eva would have something to add.

"Insecure of me?" As Eva asked Maleeka, she noticed Maleeka lowering her face and letting out a sad sigh.

"I feared you would steal my friend from me. I was so stupid that I didn’t realize it was I who had pushed him away. I know he is your mate, but he used to be my friend, too. Eva! I don’t have anyone in my life. All I ever wanted was for someone to be my friend. And now I’ve lost him. Once again, I’m all alone in my mansion. The walls and decors seem like my enemies now. There is no one who I can talk to," Maleeka covered her face in her hands and began to sob in front of Eva.

Unlike others, Eva couldn’t ever tell who was being honest with her and who was playing with her. Her heart crumbled like cookies while watching Maleeka cry.

"Please don’t be sad. You can call me whenever you need someone to speak to. I know I’m not Zeon, but I can be someone who listens to you and comforts you," Eva, being naïve and too pure, let Maleeka know she will be available for her.

"Really? You would do that for me?" Maleeka faked a smile and instantly pulled Eva into a tight hug. It surprised Eva, because Maleeka had never been nicer to her.

"Yes! You can always rely on me," As Eva smiled and broke the hug, they found Zeon watching the two in shock. He didn’t like Maleeka talking to Eva. He was kind of aware of Maleeka’s nature and Eva’s innocence.

"Goodbye," Maleeka smiled and walked past Zeon without looking at him. The moment she had walked far away from them, she grunted.

"I’ll see who is insecure," she groaned under her breath and sped away to her car.
