Werewolf
Rejected Their Broken Luna Chapter 218: Chap-218*Buying His Mate Bond*
Years Ago:
Author’s POV:
"What's going on with you? Why are you so angry?" Millie, Maleeka’s best friend, had been talking to her for the last few minutes, sensing that something was amiss with her friend.
"He found a mate," Maleeka muttered under her breath, making sure only Millie could hear it.
"What? Zeon?" Millie was shocked because she knew how much Maleeka loved him.
"It's that new girl," even thinking about it made Maleeka close her eyes and clench her jaw angrily.
"Oh, no! That's such a downgrade for him," Millie commented, sympathizing with Maleeka, but also aware that Maleeka was not one to accept defeat easily.
"We have to do anything we can to make sure that girl is out of his life," Maleeka declared, her determination shining through. Losing was not in Maleeka's vocabulary.
"But you guys are not even mates," Millie pointed out, reminding Maleeka of a crucial fact she seemed to overlook.
"So? Is a stupid mate bond going to decide if I can have him or not?" Maleeka almost raised her voice, catching the attention of onlookers. Realizing this, she closed her eyes, lowered her tone, and continued, "I'm telling you, he is only mine," she pointed a finger at her chest, glaring at her friend, who had no clue how to navigate Maleeka's emotions.
"I don’t know; do you have anything on your mind?" Millie asked, having noticed Maleeka deep in thought. She assumed Maleeka must have already devised a plan.
"I have one plan," Maleeka muttered under her breath, checking her nails calmly while a sinister smile played on her lips.
"What are you thinking of doing, Maleeka?" Millie questioned, a hint of fear in her voice. Maleeka's sudden smile only meant trouble was brewing in her head.
"Well, for starters, I am going to make a promise to Zeon," she revealed, her eyes gleaming with mischief.
"Okay! I don’t see how it will go well for you," Millie said, understanding the power of the mate bond. If Zeon didn't feel it, her friend's plan was bound to fail.
"Well, I will tell him that I have felt the mate bond," Maleeka added, but Millie remained unimpressed.
"Maleeka! If he doesn’t feel it, then it is a shut and done case," Millie felt a pang of sympathy for her friend. Maleeka had never seemed this confused and desperate before.
"Of course, he will feel the mate bond; once I give him a Mercedes as a gift, do you think he will tell anyone that he never felt the mate bond with me?" Maleeka explained her half-baked idea, and Millie, despite her reservations, couldn't help but smirk.
"Now that might work," she agreed with Maleeka, acknowledging that showing Zeon what he could get if he admitted to feeling the mate bond might just do the trick. The two of them would be the only ones who knew the truth, but they would never say it aloud.
And so, it was decided that very soon, Maleeka was going to introduce Zeon to the school as her mate.
That night, Zeon and Eva had their first date, and it went extremely well. The two discovered they had almost everything in common, and Zeon couldn't keep his hands off her the entire time.
He could have sworn she was the best thing that had happened to him, and she thought the same.
"I'll be honest with you. When you first asked me out, I didn’t think we would have this much fun. I was afraid; I didn’t even know if we would make it to the restaurant," Eva admitted as they walked down the road, holding hands. Zeon felt like the happiest man alive.
"Really? I was worried too," he murmured. "I was only worried that you would reject my offer. I knew the moment you arrived that I would have fun. You are the only one I had in mind for years, Eva. I knew there was something special about you that me and my wolf couldn’t forget about, and when we finally saw you again, I realized why I felt so strongly towards you," Zeon was holding her hand tightly, confident he would never let her go.
"Aren’t you concerned about your friend?" Eva asked him, aware that Maleeka could be a significant source of trouble for them.
"Maleeka? I don’t think she should have, but I know she will have some trouble. That is who she is. She wants her friends to stay beside her and not even look at others," he acknowledged that Maleeka could be possessive and even he didn't like it.
"This is what we'll do for now. We'll keep our relationship a secret so that we both survive the bullying until we are eighteen, and then we will tell everyone in the school," Zeon suggested, but Eva didn’t find it very convincing.
"Does that mean we cannot speak to each other in school?" She inquired, and he nodded weakly. He wasn’t only doing it for himself; he was aware that if Maleeka saw him with Eva, she would make Eva’s life a living hell.
"We must keep it a secret, or she will make it so hard for you to survive in the school," he added, pulling her close until she was near his chest. They were walking back home while he was side-hugging her. He couldn’t believe he had to drop her off and wait for the next time they met.
"I will take care of you, I promise," Zeon whispered, kissing her forehead and taking her back home. The next few days at school went by peacefully until Maleeka started getting too clingy for Zeon.
"So, you are coming home tonight, right?" She asked Zeon, holding hands with him and walking towards the exit.
"Why? What is the occasion?" Zeon asked, trying to free his hand as he didn’t feel comfortable with her closeness.
"We are having a movie night," Maleeka rested her head on his shoulder when she realized they were being watched by Eva.
Eva was having a hard time watching them together all the time. It had been days since Zeon and Eva had sat together and spoken face-to-face.
