Werewolf
Rejected Their Broken Luna Chapter 67: Chap-67*Am I A Snatcher?*
**Cynthia Dion: **
Rosalie stood in front of me, her eyes brimming with anger. I raised my face and put my hand on my cheek, feeling a sharp pain that numbed my jaw.
"What did you do, Rosalie? What on earth?" Enzo stepped forward and put his arm around her to pull her away from me. She struggled to free herself from his grip, while he kept trying to restrain her from reaching me.
Atticus remained passive, leaning against the wall with his arms folded across his chest. I was taken aback that he was also present, silently observing his partner in crime attacking me.
Her wolf was already flickering in her eyes as she glared at me. "I despise people like her who try to steal mates!" she yelled, ensuring everyone could hear. It seemed like she might transform any second.
Changing on school grounds would get her banned from the school.
I wished I could stand up and confront her, but I hadn't shifted yet, so that wasn't possible for me.
"Look at her, she's so audacious, returning to school," Rosalie grumbled and shouted, but Atticus decided to intervene and cut her off.
I expected him to tell her to back off, but all I could think was that I had set my hopes high for someone who had consistently disappointed me.
"Come here," he let her go from Enzo's grip and then wrapped his arm around her, drawing her into a close embrace right in front of me. Uncomfortably, Enzo moved aside, clearly frustrated. They seemed to be in disagreement with each other.
At that moment, my vision started to blur.
"Hush! Calm down, baby!" He gently stroked her cheeks as she began to cry softly.
"Why is your heart racing so fast?" He broke the hug and held her face in his hands, doing all of this right in front of me.
"I'm jus---I just hate her for what she did to your sister," she almost whimpered, but her whimpering ceased when Atticus pressed his lips against hers, silencing her. I just sat on the floor, tears streaming heavily down my cheeks.
"I think it's time for us to head out for training. I mean---Rosalie needs to join us on the training grounds," Enzo's gentle tap on Atticus's back broke them apart. Seeing how comforted Rosalie looked made me wonder: Why did the Moon Goddess give me so many mates when none of them could comfort me?
They departed quietly after putting on their little show.
After they had pushed me to my limit, I managed to get up and noticed that the teacher was now giving us instructions for training.
"Everyone, take your positions," Mr. Lowell commanded, observing as everyone found their place.
My unfortunate luck placed me right in front of Rosalie in the queue. I knew Mr. Lowell would assign us challenging tasks and expect us to push our limits, given that he possessed a very powerful wolf.
"Now, today we'll learn how to seize and hold onto what we desire," he announced the lesson of the day, and I started to feel dizzy. That blow had really thrown me off balance; I was seeing stars in broad daylight. Nevertheless, I managed to maintain my composure when I noticed that Enzo and Atticus had joined the group.
The audience had gathered to mock and taunt us, all in the name of making us stronger, and that was the most difficult part of the whole situation.
I knew today I'd be the one criticized by everyone.
My ears rang like a bell as the instructor said, "There are six balls here that will be placed in the center of the field. After the timer runs out, anyone who doesn't have at least one ball will be eliminated and won't continue in this contest." I had no clue they had advanced to this stage in training. I hadn't attended many sessions, and now I was going to pay for it.
"Did someone mention snatching? We all know who's going to win this round," Enzo shouted, and everyone burst into laughter.
Everyone started sizing me up and down, laughing. I ignored them and focused on the red balls, noticing that some of the others were beginning to growl softly.
"Remember, even if you can't shift, you can still harness your wolf's charm and power in various ways. It's a good idea to have a backup plan in case you can't shift for some reason," Mr. Lowell added.
Despite the pain in my cheek and the distracting comments, I held my ground. When the whistle sounded, everyone in my vicinity lunged for the balls, each of us trying to grab at least one. I worried about getting a ball because there were so many of us and only six balls to go around.
As the scramble began, the grumbles grew louder.
"Rosalie, hooray!" everyone cheered.
For a moment, I was distracted by the cheering before I closed my eyes and kept sprinting towards the balls. Despite others being faster than me, I pushed on because I had a goal.
In the distance, I spotted one ball that probably went unnoticed because everyone was too focused on relying on their wolf's power rather than their own wits, as others crowded around the balls.
Before I could get back on my feet, I fell to the ground and tucked the ball into my shirt. Instantly, I felt as light as a feather.
Rosalie pushed me aside to check if I was holding a ball, but she left me when she couldn't find anything and started chasing after others. It was too chaotic to keep track of how many balls had been found. I decided to stick with the crowd as they sprinted, not wanting to linger behind and seem untrustworthy.
In the midst of the chaos, the group I was in got hit by a groaning Rosalie, causing a ball to drop right in front of me. Groups were clashing over these balls.
As I looked up and saw all of their wolves staring at me with their changed eye colors, my whole body trembled. I was too afraid to reach for the ball.
