Werewolf
Rejected Their Broken Luna Chapter 64: Chap-64*Watch Him Bully Me.*
**Cynthia Dion:**
After Atticus remained silent and Maleeka shot Zeon an angry look, Mr. Holt shifted his approach.
"What if he changes schools? It might be easier for him to adapt," Mr. Holt proposed. He reclined back in his chair, gesturing repeatedly at Atticus, who sat upright, his face lowered, and his breath quickening.
"He's the Alpha King. He can't leave his pack," Maleeka countered, observing Mr. Holt scrunch his nose.
The argument was becoming excessive and absurd at this point. Even Atticus appeared worn out by it all.
"It's fine! Nobody needs to change schools. You two can stop now," Atticus put an end to the argument with a grunt, his eyes shifting to me, implying that this whole conflict was because of me.
"Ah! The food is here," Mr. Holt cheered like an excited child as he glanced at the dishes.
"Cynthia! Fill your plate now. You've probably never seen this much food before," Mr. Holt's remark drew Maleeka's attention. If she thought we were a happy couple, she would now witness her mate bullying me. Perhaps then she would grasp that I had no role in this situation.
The two siblings exchanged a surprised glance, both evidently taken aback by Zeon's apparent efforts to ridicule me.
"Um, Cynthia, let me fill your--," Maleeka started to offer assistance when she noticed my embarrassment, but she took a deep breath and mumbled softly, trying to help me. However, Atticus gently nudged her and pulled her back.
"Yeah, have something," Mr. Holt whispered, filling his plate and chewing noisily. Atticus snorted and then began eating as well. After a few minutes of my hesitating to eat, Maleeka finally took charge of my plate and loaded it with food for me.
Without making eye contact, she urged in a hushed tone, "Eat something."
How could someone leave her for another mate? He didn't explicitly reject her, but it appeared that he had shifted his attention from her to me.
She was the most beautiful and kind-hearted person one could ever meet.
Following the uncomfortable meal, we made our way back home while the three of them discussed business matters and methods for educating young wolves.
I contemplated asking Mr. Holt to tutor me or, at the very least, help me find someone to train me. I couldn't forget about the upcoming competition, which was just a few days away.
Mr. Holt left me at my room after repeating several times that he was waiting for the right moment, although I didn't quite grasp what he was aiming for with that. Fortunately, he chose to spend the night with his first mate.
I secretly hoped that the "perfect moment" he spoke of would never arrive.
I didn't mind being left alone in my room. I didn't care how much time he spent with her or what he did; all I wanted was to be left alone.
As my eyes landed on my luggage and clothes, a wave of nostalgia for my sister brought tears to my eyes. I worried about her mental well-being and feared my father's cruelty, now that she was alone with him.
"Ah!" I sighed when I discovered a letter that Flora had secretly placed in my suitcase. She must have been so disappointed that I hadn't seen her before leaving. When Mr. Holt was taking me home, he had made so many promises, and up to now, he had broken most of them. I was beginning to feel like I had been deceived. I started to read my sister's letter.
"You are so lucky. Mr. Holt is the best husband for you. He loves you and promises to take care of you. You know, he got me so much stuff today and even told Dad not to lay a finger on me. He then told Dad that if he treats me well, Mr. Holt will pay him every day. I am so happy. He is helping me with my tuition and has even hired a car to pick me up and drop me off at school. I have never eaten so much food before. Dad was nice to me for the first time because there was a guard set outside our house to make sure I was safe inside. I’m so happy. I miss you so much, but I am relieved that you are happy too. I am sure he will keep you safe and loved. He told me you did all this for me. You are the best sister in the world. Love you forever, Cynthia."
Tears welled up in my eyes after reading her message, and I clutched the note close to my chest.
"I love you too, Flora. If my pain and misery bring you happiness, then I'm willing to endure it. If he's willing to do all this for you, I'm willing to tolerate him for now," I whispered, tears streaming down my face. I felt a mix of sadness and relief knowing that my sister could now have the life I had always wanted for both of us.
Even if I ended up getting hurt, my life had already been through so much. My wolf had decided to remain dormant for a while. My first mate had been the reason I rushed into marrying my second mate, who was not only much older than me but also a sadist, even worse than my father. But none of it mattered as long as my sister was content.
I was sobbing quietly to myself when I heard a gentle tap at the door. After Mr. Holt had mentioned his plan to spend the night with Maleeka, I hadn't anticipated that he would come to visit me in my room.
Frowning, I approached the door, opening it slowly because I had no desire for anyone else to stay the night with me. However, before I could fully open it, the person on the other side pushed it open, entered, and locked it behind us.
The furrowed brow and anger in his eyes froze me in place, rendering me silent and immobile. It wasn't Mr. Holt.
"Atticus!" I gasped.
