Werewolf
Rejected Their Broken Luna Chapter 201: Chap-201*Always A Loser!*
Cynthia Dion:
"AHHHH!" I wailed as I yanked the dagger from my thigh and pursued him. Clutching the dagger, I scanned the darkness; he must have concealed himself.
But I didn’t have time to even think twice before looking for ways to save her from his evil plans.
"Maleeka!" I called out, hoping to locate her and escape the mansion together. Her silence fueled my fear; I couldn't let her fall victim to him. After finding out that her anger towards me was not a mere jealousy thing, I decided to earn her forgiveness by saving her from this disgusting man.
Frantically, I overturned objects, searching for her like a madwoman. "You need to come out; I won’t hurt you," I exclaimed loudly, worried she might be hiding or coerced into silence.
"Maleeka!" I continued to call, desperately hoping she'd reveal herself and come with me. The night had already been chaotic, and now I had no idea where they both were.
"Maleeka! You're not safe here," I shouted, trying to make my voice reach her. The main door burst open, and the guards stormed in, blinding me with their flashing lights.
"Oh My God! Thank goodness you guys are here," exclaimed Maleeka. She emerged from her hiding spot with a bloodied Mr. Holt beside her.
"Maleeka! Stay away from hi--," I attempted to warn her, but the guards aimed their guns at me, leaving a dry taste in my mouth. I looked over at Maleeka and then at the guards. They were not here to arrest Mr. Holt. Instead, they had been called here for me.
“Stay away from her,” the guard yelled.
“But I am not doing anything. I came here---,” as I watched their eyes landing on the dagger, I realized how wrong it seemed.
“This is not for her,” I held my hand up, making them square up even more. My heart was beating hard in my chest at this point.
Atticus arrived after being informed, scanning the scene until he noticed the dagger I held in the air. "She came all the way here to kill me," Maleeka screamed in terror, her tears and fear genuine.
Oh no!
"I—I didn’t come here to hu--rt her," I stammered, stepping back. "I came here to sav---e her from him," I said, pointing at Mr. Holt, realizing how absurd I sounded. The fact that the victim was afraid of me made me look like the bad guy.
"Him? He saved me tonight," Maleeka claimed, her arm wrapped around Mr. Holt's waist.
"Atticus! I swear I didn’t come here to harm her," I pleaded, realizing the mess I'd created.
"I knew she was going to do something to Maleeka tonight, so I brought Maleeka here for safety. But even that didn’t change her mind. She came all the way here to hurt my baby’s mother," Mr. Holt explained, dropping to his knees. Maleeka sat beside him, checking on his injuries. Atticus's betrayed expression cut deep.
"Arrest her!" A commanding voice ordered my arrest.
It was over. I should have informed Atticus instead of risking my life for her and ending up in trouble.
"But I promise, I didn’t do anything. I came here to save her life," I whispered, shuddering from the silver slicing my skin and the thigh stab.
"Did you not hear me? Arrest her!" Maleeka screamed again, and I decided to give up. I lowered the dagger, standing defeated, but before a guard could approach me, Atticus intervened.
"Nobody touches her," he commanded, making me raise my face.
“She is my Luna and you are going to arrest her without even taking a confirmation from me?” Atticus yelled angrily, making everyone step back.
"She was told that Maleeka’s life is in danger," he added, and I frowned. Was he just saying it off the top of his head?
"What do you mean, I am safe," Maleeka grunted angrily. "I was safe until your crazy mate came here with a silver dagger and attacked us," she added for evidence.
"No! You were not safe. I mean! It seemed like you were not safe," Atticus corrected himself. When everyone looked for an explanation, he revealed, "The maid! She caused all this." Cluelessly, I tilted my face. The maid? How was she involved in all this?
"Let’s go home first," Atticus confidently walked in my direction and lifted me up in his arms since my thigh was bleeding badly by now.
"You are taking her home?" Maleeka complained from behind him as the guards assisted Mr. Holt. "Why is she still coming home with us? Is she ever going to get punished for her actions?" She had a point. In her eyes, I was this evil person who wanted her gone, so I couldn't blame her for panicking when she saw her brother taking me back home where she lived.
"Maleeka! Not right now. I said we would talk at home," Atticus muttered to his sister, and soon we were heading back in our cars.
"Atticus!" I whispered his name to get his attention. "I want to tell you something," I added, feeling remorseful for getting him into trouble with his sister again.
"I didn’t intend to hurt her; I only wished to save her," I mumbled, then spoke with confidence. "I promise I didn’t want to hurt her. I spoke to Thea, and she told me everything." I didn’t even know where to begin. I was yammering in the car while he rubbed his face in his hands.
"Cynthia! Where is your cellphone?" He abruptly brought me to silence with his question.
"That is what I am telling you. He took my phone away so that he could text some nonsense to himself, and later he could say I hypnotized hi---," I stopped babbling once I unconsciously said the right thing, "hypnotization!" I gasped, covering my mouth with my hands.
"What? You were saying something; what is it?" Atticus straightened his back because he knew I was going somewhere with this conversation.
