I have been super excited about the party I have planned. Maleeka was going to be very happy. The very day we arranged the party, Maleeka decided to go and grab the surprise popsicles with the baby gender surprise.

I asked her if she wanted me to come with her, but Zeon didn’t like me around her. Atticus and I had decided not to piss off Zeon for now.

Ever since I found out about my status, I was also very excited to start working on my fallen pack and make it grow. Once Maleeka gives birth, we will see how he can escape us. The moment Maleeka has a baby in her arms, she will not care about anyone in the world but about her baby.

"You look great," Atticus wrapped his arms around me from the back. I was getting ready for the gender reveal party, which was in a few hours. I have worn a white dress that could reach only to the midsection of my thighs, but I could tell it was making Atticus hard.

"Thank you," I mumbled, feeling him plant a kiss or two over my shoulder.

"So!" he teased, "What do you think about planning one of our own, too?" I know what he meant. He had been very excited ever since he thought we should also get pregnant.

"Let’s wait for now. I don’t want her to think we tried to steal her moment," I knew how much it meant for Maleeka, and I didn’t want to get under her nerves. "Besides, I won’t be comfortable until Zeon is behind bars for his crimes," I meant what I said. I was honestly not comfortable with him roaming around. He had been awfully silent, and it was worrying me. I could only guess he was preparing something sinister for later.

"Ah! That man is ruining our life." Atticus pouted sadly and was about to kiss me again when his phone rang.

"Hm! Maleeka is calling me," he murmured before attending the call.

"Hey sister! We were just talking about babie---," he paused in a mid-sentence. "I am sorry, what?" He seemed to have been struck with horror.

I turned to face him and watched his face with concern.

"Wha---t! which hospital?" As he rushed to get his keys, my heart skipped a beat.

"Atticus! What is going on?" I was afraid of hearing the bad news. He hung up the call and swirled his body around to watch me. The moment I got a glimpse of his face, I knew there was something wrong.

There were big tears in his eyes, as if he was going to start crying by any minute.

"Atticus! Please tell me what is going on, you are worrying me," I was already shaking out of anxiety, and his silence was killing me.

"She--- my sister! Cynthia! She had an acc---ident," Tears left his eyes, but he didn’t stay behind.

"I will come with you," the news had broken my heart. I chased after him, and soon we were in a car together and headed to the hospital.

He hadn’t spoken a word; he was only sobbing silently.

We reached the hospital just a few minutes before Zeon did. We had been waiting outside the OT when Zeon rushed our way.

"What did you do? What did you do to her?" Instead of asking for her, the first thing he did was to yell at me. Atticus had to rush between us and grab his collar to warn him to stay away from me.

"You are protecting someone who is the reason your sister is in this room getting operated on right now," Zeon was shameless enough to accuse me when he knew our first suspect was going to be him after he did this act. I honestly didn’t even think of the accident--anything but an accident--until he showed up and started yelling at me.

"Back off, Zeon; this is not the right time for this," Atticus had been keeping his calm with him only because of Maleeka. I have seen him cry like a child ever since we arrived at the hospital, and Zeon had the nerve to accuse him of not being concerned about Maleeka.

The two got separated when a doctor came out and hushed them.

We were worried about Maleeka. At this point, we were told that the baby didn’t survive and that Atticus had been going crazy now.

I stayed beside Atticus while Zeon kept passing me an angry glare. I was not going to rest until I figured out what happened to Maleeka’s car. It was such a mystery that the same day she was going to announce the baby’s gender, the accident happened.

The doctor finally came out and told us that she was fine and would wake up in a few hours. However, there was one piece of news that hit us like a silver billet. The doctor told us that she will never be able to conceive again and in the same breath; he told us to be very thoughtful of her for now.

It was a hard time for us because her happiness was limited to Zeon and having a baby. We had no clue how we were going to comfort her now.

Every time she woke up, she screamed and screeched until she passed out again. It was a horrifying day, and the worst had yet to come when we would tell her about her not being able to conceive again.

"Are you okay?" I asked Atticus, sitting down with him and holding his hand. It’s been a week, and we have yet to decide when to tell her that.

"When my parents passed away, Maleeka took care of me like she was my mother. She was always there for me. It was at that time that she realized she would make a great mother. Now! I have to live to see her lose her babies. Cynthia! She can’t ever have kids now. How am I going to tell her this? How will she be okay with it? How will she survive?" He had tears in his eyes as he talked about his sister.

"Atticus! We will take care of her together," I reassured him that I would be with him on every step of this difficult time.

I was still in the process of comforting him when loud screams erupted throughout the mansion.

"Maleeka!" Atticus knew it was his sister, but it covered us in fear when we heard her screech like a beast in pain. We rushed out of the room and sprinted to her room, only to meet a devastating sight.

She was on her knees and wailing loudly.

"Atticus! I can---t ever ha---ve bab---ies?" her question broke my heart, but it was the way she found out that caught my eye.
