Werewolf
Rejected Their Broken Luna Chapter 154: Chap-154*The Sketchy Wolf.*
Cynthia Dion:
"I said she's staying here, and I don't want to hear any more complaints," Atticus surprisingly spoke up for me.
"She's unwell and needs care. I don't want any of you causing her any stress," his voice had never sounded so commanding and forceful. Even his sister was taken aback by his transformation.
"What did she do to you?" Mara asked, seemingly falling in line with those who labeled me as a seductress who ensnares others' mates.
"Do I need to remind you that I'm an Alpha, and I don't appreciate being questioned?" Suddenly, he abandoned his calm demeanor and snapped at her. It appeared he had no patience for anyone questioning him now. I hoped he would continue to exhibit this behavior. I remembered how he used to be secretive about defending me, not wanting his reputation to be linked to mine. Witnessing him confidently take a stand for me even left me amazed.
"So, where is she going to stay?" Maleeka brushed off the shock and fear caused by Atticus's outburst and continued to argue.
"In my bedroom," Atticus responded in a flash, surprising everyone with his quick decision, leaving their mouths agape.
"Now, do I need to remind you of what she did to your sister or what she's been..." Maleeka's voice wavered as she teared up, but Atticus cut her off.
"It's not like she was the only one involved," he scoffed, and all eyes turned towards Mr. Holt, who also appeared taken aback by Atticus's statement.
"She seduced him," Maleeka defended her man as if it were a valid excuse. "I don't want her here; kick her out right now," Maleeka tried to approach me again, prompting me to hide behind Atticus and clutch his shirt tightly.
He felt it, evident as he briefly turned around and straightened his back.
"Are you ready to kick him out?" He once again directed his gaze at Mr. Holt, surprising him with the sudden change in Atticus's demeanor. "They both were responsible, so why are you casting her aside and not him? She told him to harm you, and he acted on it. Who's the greater wrongdoer here?" Atticus's voice thundered as he scolded his sister, simultaneously reaching back to take my hand and guide me outside.
"She's already faced her consequences, and I won't tolerate another word against her. Do you understand?" He pointed at each of them, one by one.
His sister managed a weak smile, and I observed Atticus lower his head in sadness at her response. It couldn't have been easy for him to confront his sister like this. He was taking a significant step for me, even though it might have been too late for us.
"Then leave her in the guestroom," Mara spoke very softly this time, considering Atticus's earlier outburst.
"And leave her at the mercy of the maids?" The way he said it left his sister taken aback.
"Good! I like how you're so concerned about someone who suffered a miscarriage, even though that same person is responsible for your sister's baby loss over and over again," she sniffled and began to sob. Mr. Holt, realizing his standing was at stake, hurried closer and embraced her.
"The one you should be upset with is the one clinging to you. Go reprimand him," Atticus unexpectedly took a stand for me, leaving me bewildered about his intentions.
"Anyway, this discussion is over. She's unwell and needs rest. I'll take her to my room," Atticus ensured I was close to him and shielded me from the prying eyes of his family as he led me to the room.
Once in his room, I stood in the corner with my hands clasped in front of my body, just below my abdomen.
Tears glistened in his eyes after the confrontation with his sister, and I couldn't help but question his motives for bringing me here.
"Are you trying to prove a point?" My voice compelled him to turn and meet my gaze.
"What point?" he asked icily, but his intense stare made it difficult for me to maintain eye contact.
"That she should part ways with Mr. Holt, and then the three of you can live as a happy family?" I didn't hold back, and I continued to look into his eyes.
"Rest, Cynthia. I'll bring you some soup," he said, looking straight ahead, which confirmed my suspicion.
"Don't worry, I'll ensure nobody tries to harm you," he added, apparently concerned that I might believe someone in his family wanted me dead.
I walked past him and settled onto the bed, feeling somewhat uneasy because the bed was so soft, and his scent lingered on the sheets more than I expected.
"And no, even if she does kick him out, you're staying safe here," he stated calmly before leaving the room.
Now that I was alone in the room, I finally released the deep breath I'd been holding all this time.
'Good job!' Thea commented, causing me to furrow my brow and ignore her. 'Now that we're finally here, it's time to take revenge,' she spoke softly but with a touch of malevolence that left me wondering who she really was.
'What? I'm not here to take revenge on anyone. The only person who wronged me is Mr. Holt. What do you mean by "everybody"?' I questioned her stance; the others seemed to believe I had done something wrong based on certain texts, but that didn't mean they intentionally hurt me.
'Don't make excuses for their actions, even though you know they all deserve it,' her voice was thin and high-pitched, almost as if she were mocking me.
'Thea, let's not discuss it when you have your side to explain,' I shook my head in disbelief. She never offered a satisfactory explanation for why she had remained silent despite being awake all this time.
'That revenge will set things right. I'm not asking you to do anything; just remain silent when I take control,' she suddenly whispered, and fear gripped me.
'I will make them cry and tremble at the sight of us. They have no idea who they've wronged,' the power in her voice made me think of our form. We were definitely not an omega. But her behavior was undeniably malevolent.
This isn't how she's supposed to be.
Who is she?
