Cynthia Dion:

"He informed him about Cynthia getting into some trouble. He didn't mention any names because I swiftly grabbed the phone from his hands at the right moment. However, that's not important because the moment he arrives, she will spill the beans," he added as he noticed the others exhale a sigh of relief. They were back to feeling anxious again.

"Wait! That's only feasible if he manages to meet her in one piece. If she ends up as a crisp, he won't ever hear a peep from her against us," Just as sinister as his daughter, Mr. York suggested the idea of burning me alive.

"What about us?" Jack's father whispered in his ear, wearing a mournful expression because they didn't get to harm me. What a despicable individual.

"It's a matter of our survival or some twisted amusement," Mr. York whispered back, as if he thought no one else could hear him. "I mean, we don't have the luxury of indulging in too much punishment. We need to make the most of what time we have left and dispose of her," he corrected himself, wary of appearing like a lascivious brute in front of others, although they all harbored similar desires deep down.

"In that case, let's get rid of her," Mr. Rhody, who was Jack's father, hurried out to start pouring alcohol around the house, while Mr. York tied my father to a chair in the same room as me.

"What are you all up to?" My father appeared very frightened. "Please, don't take my life," he began to shout, but they paid him no heed. At least, that's what I came to realize.

"You folks, head outside and spread it around generously," Mr. Rhody gave me a lecherous look, and I could tell he was far too eager to miss this opportunity. They all consented, fully aware of his intentions. My heart raced within my chest. I dreaded he might end my life tonight. Would those who wronged me ever face justice? What would become of my sister?

He inched closer and began to unbutton my pants. I resisted fiercely, delivering stronger kicks to push him away.

"Quit resisting," he growled, repeatedly striking my face. "You shameless!" He then grabbed my hair, forcing my head back and muffling my cries with a pillow.

"Now let's see how well you can fight and scream," a sinister desire gleamed in his eyes as he reached for my pants once more. He didn't get the chance to touch me, though, as the air suddenly filled with cries and shouts.

"What's happening?" Rhody withdrew from me and scanned the room to figure out the commotion. His blows had left me pretty battered, as had the suffocation from the pillow. I could hear him breathe profusely out of fear.

"Your highness," the pressure of his knee on my back eased suddenly as someone entered the room.

I managed to lift my head slightly, struggling for breath. I likely would have lost consciousness if he hadn't released me in the next moment. My nose was bleeding, and my cheek had a nasty cut. The black eye from his assault would probably show up later.

I had already been told to rest, and this man had placed all his weight on my back. I was coughing up blood, but that didn't stop me from lifting my head to see Atticus standing in the doorway.

"I specifically instructed all of you to keep your distance from her. Why didn't you?" He asked in a rather composed manner, though his clenched jaw betrayed the anger and frustration in his voice.

"We--we were trying to--she had called some boys' home, so we--," Rhody stammered, constantly fumbling with his words, and eventually couldn't come up with anything to save himself.

"Why did you harm her?" Atticus didn't react to the accusations, but instead took deliberate steps toward him. As Atticus neared him, the man dropped to his knees, begging for mercy. I lowered my head, hoping that no more harm would befall me.

I listened to his agonizing screams and Atticus pummeling him relentlessly, shouting at the top of his lungs. My body trembled with each grunt and punch.

I kept my eyes closed as Atticus exacted his vengeance on him, and he certainly deserved it.

Once he had finished dealing with the man, he turned his attention to untying my father and then sat beside me on the bed. I felt his gentle hands holding mine to comfort me. It took him a moment to rise and then lift me in his arms, handling me delicately as if I were weightless.

"I shouldn't have left you alone," the guilty soft tone he used made my body shudder.

He carried me to the car, and during that time, I managed to glance around and observe the aftermath of his actions. The whole place was in disarray, with blood and injured bodies strewn about. It wasn't over yet, as just as he brought me out to the car, Mr. York emerged, battered and bloodied.

"You hold the title of Alpha in this pack and over this territory, and we have the utmost respect for you. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean we're powerless to address the woman who's been snatching mates. Feel free to be furious with us, but the undeniable fact is that this girl has caused nothing but turmoil for all of us, and even for your sister. The werewolf court has unmistakably branded her as someone beyond the reach of justice. She's like an open invitation to anyone." The man had the audacity to challenge the alpha, but he was basing his argument on the decision of the werewolf court. Atticus had halted his stride when the man began speaking, and though he turned around to face him, their gazes remained fixed on us.

“She is nothing but a sinner,” he added.

I began to wonder what Atticus would say now as the man had openly challenged my existence and mentioned the council.
