**Cynthia Dion: **

I walked back to my room and slammed the door shut. I couldn't see any reason to stay with them any longer. Rosalie was clearly being difficult. I paced around the room, feeling my anger rise. Then, my eyes landed on Mr. Holt's closet, and I knew exactly what I had to do.

"There's no way he could be sneaky enough to hide anything that could incriminate him," I muttered to myself, convincing myself that I needed to search through his things. After all, this room had been his long before I arrived. It was rumored that he often stayed in this room while Maleeka spent days sleeping alone in her own.

I determinedly walked up to the wardrobe and started searching through his things. I moved aside his ties and suits, hoping to uncover some evidence that would expose his true, awful nature. He'd been constantly mocking me, and I couldn't bear it any longer.

As I dug deeper, I stumbled upon a hidden package tucked away in the corner of the closet. With trembling hands, I opened it and found a collection of love notes from another woman. My heart sank as I read the words on the paper.

Note 1: I've been keeping an eye on you, and I couldn't help but think about you.

Note 2: Hey, I know you don't know me yet, but I know you. I've been reading about you, and my heart aches for you.

Note 3: I might come off as a bit like a stalker, but I truly admire you and everything you do. I've heard that you train young wolves, too. Could you spare some time for me? I'd like to discuss my situation. I've been feeling really strange lately. My mate rejected me, thinking I'm not good enough. He believes my mother's condition might affect me, and I'm afraid of that as well. It's just strange how I have so many of these worries.

Note 4: If you're comfortable with it, here's my contact number.

It was the strangest thing I had ever come across. I took a deep breath, composed myself, and carefully placed the papers back into the box. I actually jotted down that phone number. Once I was done with that, I decided to call the number. However, Mr. Holt had taken away my phone, so I had no choice but to consider an alternative.

"The phone booth," I muttered.

I quickly slipped on my shoes and grabbed my coat, trying to be as quiet as possible. The door closing sounded like a thunderclap in the silent mansion, but I didn't look back. Enzo and Rosalie were still in Atticus' room, probably deep in discussion, so I had a little time to complete my mission.

As I stepped out into the darkened street, I glanced both ways before hurrying toward the nearest phone booth. The chilly air nipped at my exposed skin, making me shiver. I pulled my coat snugly around me and kept my head low.

Each step felt like it dragged on forever, and I had to avoid being seen by anyone. My nerves were stretched thin, and I couldn't stop myself from scanning my surroundings every few seconds.

I finally reached the phone booth, and I was relieved to see that it was empty. I swiftly picked up the receiver and began dialing the number. My fingers trembled as I pressed each button, and my heart raced in my chest.

The line rang once, twice, three times... I was on the verge of losing hope when finally, someone answered.

After three rings, a young girl's voice came through, "Hello?"

My muscles tightened, but I had to continue. I hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to say. "Hi, I came across this number and was curious about who it belongs to."

There was a pause on the other end, and then the girl abruptly hung up. I furrowed my brow and tried calling again, but it went straight to voicemail. Who was this girl, and why did she seem so nervous?

It didn't make any sense.

Just as I was about to hang up the phone, a sense of unease washed over me. I'd been out for too long, and pack members were now scattered all around. Someone might spot me and report back to Mr. Holt. Panic welled up inside me, and I knew I had to return home before Mr. Holt discovered my absence.

My heart pounded in my chest, and I struggled to catch my breath. Finally, I reached my front door and slipped inside. I closed it quietly, relieved that I had made it back without being caught. But as I took off my coat and hung it up, I couldn't shake the memory of the voice on the phone and why she had abruptly ended the call. Could that number be connected to Mr. Holt?

As I turned around, I was shocked to find my husband's brother-in-law, Atticus, standing in the doorway. My heart sank as I realized that I had been caught.

"What are you doing here, Cynthia?" he asked, his voice filled with suspicion.

"I, um, just needed to make a call," I stammered, my mind scrambling for an excuse, "I wanted to speak to Flora."

"You could have used my cellphone," Atticus suggested, raising an eyebrow. "Why did you have to sneak out like that?"

I bit my lip, feeling guilty for lying. "I didn't want to disturb you," I said, hoping it came across as convincing, "You've been unwell, and you needed rest."

Atticus studied me for a moment before nodding slowly. "Alright," he said, "just don't do anything like that again, okay?"

I nodded, relieved that I had escaped without getting into too much trouble. But as Atticus turned to leave, I couldn't shake the feeling that he might still have doubts about my excuse. I knew I needed to be more careful in the future to ensure Mr. Holt didn't discover my secret phone call.

However, to my surprise, Atticus stopped and turned back, walking into the room with me.

"Do you need anything else?" I asked him.

"That kiss..." he began hesitantly. So he was going to have a talk about my kiss with Enzo. Just amazing!
