Cynthia Dion:

I spent the night thinking about ways I could counteract their plan, and it occurred to me that I have a powerful leverage if they decide to proceed. I stayed peacefully that night without any worry. They had stopped frightening me. It was my time and my moment to shine. The next morning was odd; they were all strangely happy in the garden.

I had a feeling that they would go with the plan because the moment Atticus and I joined them, Maleeka did something she had not done before.

"I wanted to speak to Cynthia in front of all of you," she said, a mild smile playing on her lips while Mara appeared resolute.

"If it's about the same issues, I would suggest not bringing it up for now," Atticus looked exhausted from our daily arguments at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He had been working hard, and we were turning the mansion into a war zone for him.

"I'm trying to offer her peace and a truce," Maleeka jumped in to explain herself, prompting Mr. Holt to raise an eyebrow in confusion. I could sense that he didn't know anything about the plan, though I might be mistaken. It was also peculiar how he hadn't communicated with me after the whole incident where I kicked him in the nuts.

His silence was not a reassuring sign, but I was prepared for the worst, so I didn't have too much to worry about.

"Really?" Atticus looked at me and then at her, perhaps celebrating too soon.

"I've come to the realization that negativity isn't good for any of us. What happened in the past has happened, and the Moon Goddess has given me another chance at happiness. I don't want to live in the past and lose these moments of joy. So, I thought, how about we all start afresh and maybe give each other a chance to prove that we're not bad people?" She smiled at me and then extended her hand for a handshake.

Mara rolling her eyes seemed to be part of their plan, so it didn't come across as weird that Maleeka offering me friendship was not shocking to her. I gave her a smile and shook hands with her. What was peculiar, though, was that her hands were shaking.

"I am so happy you all are trying to get along. It will be a good influence on the baby too," Atticus said, holding his sister’s hand. She stared at his face and then averted her eyes.

The siblings did love each other, but there were just too many complications because of their mates that they had fallen apart.

The breakfast came to an end with a strange vibe of deceit lingering in the air. I got up along with the others when Atticus and Mr. Holt began discussing business. It seemed like Atticus was trying to get him to talk about his interference in certain matters. I didn’t care because my mind was fixated on the two ladies, and I needed to pay full attention to what they were planning to do.

As I reached the living room, Maleeka and Mara followed closely behind me. I understood that this was the moment they would execute their plan against me. I gripped my phone tightly in my hand, holding it in front of my body.

"You are so evil; I just said I have forgiven you, and you are shouting at me? You didn’t want me to forgive you because you wanted Atticus to see how toxic this house has become so that he can kick us all out for you," she started talking out of the blue, her phone in her hands.

"What?" I frowned because I didn’t understand what she was saying. "Are you recording this?" I noticed that she was recording the conversation as part of her plan.

"Yes! So that my brother can hear how much you hate me," she said, panicking and keeping a distance from me while Mara stood between us.

"You have gone crazy," I couldn’t bring myself to say something that would expose her plan, realizing they had come prepared.

"Hey! What are you doing, Cynthia? Let go of her," Mara started to shout when nothing was going on.

"What is going on?" I asked, but Maleeka paused that part and started recording again.

"Let me go," she screamed. The two were waving their arms around to create a dramatic scene for the recording, and then Maleeka screamed at the top of her lungs.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" She sat down very carefully on the floor and started sobbing and yelling, "What have I ever done to you?" She was crying, and Mara began to yell at the others for attention.

"ATTICUS!!!! OMG MR. HOLT!" She was screaming and acting like she was in tears. I didn’t even move a muscle, but I was frightened at how cunning they were.

Soon, Atticus and Mr. Holt rushed into the living room, gasps heaved across their lips when they found Maleeka on the floor.

"Maleeka!" Atticus looked at me and then ran towards his sister, asking, "What happened?" He hugged her tightly and helped her up from the floor to sit her down on the couch.

"Call the doctor," Mr. Holt yelled at Mara, who nodded her head and walked to the side to call Maleeka’s doctor.

"She---," Maleeka stuttered, hyperventilating and pointing her finger at me, "I told her I don’t want us to keep fighting, but she---she hates me," she clung to her brother’s chest and kept sobbing. I was too stunned to speak at this point. They were acting so weird and crazy.

I stared at him, waiting for my body to be released from its frozen state. I didn’t understand how these she-wolves went from being decent people to completely crazy. And they said I was the bitch.

"How dare you!" Mr. Holt, who had killed his babies before in the name of me, was now acting like a savior? And they were supposed to believe it?
