King Ray's POV

That was interesting news. She was left in the clan because she did not try to make excuses. I will speak to Sarah about Chrissy. But I would not stand in the way if she were his mate. If that is what the powers that be have in store for him, then so be it. It does not change my mind about making him alpha. He has earned that and more.

" As I was saying, it depends on her views of her family," I stated.

" From what she has told me, she has never liked her family or what they did to the people they took," he responded.

" Is she here with you or at the White River Clan?" I asked.

" She is here with me," he responded.

" Good, bring her to me, so I can speak with her," I stated.

He then leaves the office, and I sit down to think. This is a difficult situation. There is no doubt that Chrissy had been trained and groomed to be someone's Luna. After all, most young ladies born of the alpha are trained and groomed from birth to be the proper mate and Luna of an alpha. I needed to know what her position was about what her family did. I have suspicions that she may be using a spell or something.

I picked up my cell phone and called Donald. He answers the phone in less than two rings.

" Yes, your majesty," he answered.

" I need you to come to my office immediately," I stated.

" I will be right there," he responded.

He will know if she is lying and if she has cast a spell on Caleb. I want him to be happy and with his mate forever, but I would not allow him to get hurt or be used against me or Sarah. When there was a knock at the door, I thought of every possible scenario. I already knew who it was.

" Come in, Donald," I shouted.

" What is wrong, Your Majesty?" he asked.

" It is Caleb and his mate," I stated.

I then explained the situation to him. He completely understood and agreed to help me figure out if she had indeed cast a spell or if this was completely true. I told Caleb to come back in a little bit. It was already getting late, and we would have to do the ceremonies and things tomorrow.

I also wanted to talk to Sarah about Chrissy. She would know what Chrissy was like and whether she could be trusted. I then called Sarah to my office. She knocked on the door.

" Hey baby, come in," I shouted.

" What is wrong, babe?" she said as she greeted me.

" We need to talk about Chrissy," I stated.

I was expecting her to go pale or faint, but her reaction was not what I expected at all. She was smiling ear to ear.

" I take it she is a good person," I stated.

" Chrissy was never like her father or mother," she responded.

" She was kind to everybody," she continues.

" She is someone who can be trusted. She left the pack and hid in the human world for a while." She continued.

" Why are you asking about her?" she asked.

" Because she is Caleb's mate," I responded.

She looked extremely shocked. Why would that surprise her?

" Why do you look shocked?" I asked.

"I would never have thought she would have found a mate," she responded.

" Why," I asked

" She has never mentioned finding a mate," she responded.

I think her father was trying to mate her to someone he wanted. That was how some alphas operated. So, it's great that she found her true mate and can be with him.

" Alright, babe. I must return to work, and Caleb and Chrissy will be here soon. I do not want you in the office for now when she is here," I stated.

"That's fine with me," she responded.

She kissed me on the cheek and was about to walk away when I pulled her onto my lap.

" You call that a kiss." I teased her.

I then gently pulled her hair, so her head was tilted backward slightly and kissed her hard and passionately. I licked her lip, and she allowed my tongue access to her mouth. We made out for several minutes. I was just about to take her to our room for a quickie when one of the nannies knocked on the door.

" Enter," I growled.

" Isabella is awake again and wants to eat, and we have used the bottles already," she said.

"OK, I will be right there," Sarah responded.

I reluctantly let go of her. The pups had perfect timing. I'm glad that they interrupted us. I still had a lot to do, and things were already going to be postponed until tomorrow.

" One more thing, beautiful, we have to postpone the ceremony until tomorrow," I told her as she walked out the door.

"That's fine," she shouted over her shoulder as she left the room.

That went well. Now, I need to get my hormones in check. My cock is standing at attention. I sat there for several moments, taking deep breaths. Finally, my erection starts to go away. I'm glad because I did not want to have one while trying to talk to Caleb and Chrissy. That would just not be right; also, it would be embarrassing.

It wasn't long after that Caleb knocked on the door.

" Come in," I shouted.

Caleb and Chrissy walked in. She had a look of fear on her face. I know what she was thinking: I would put her in the dungeon. But that was far from the truth. I wanted to know her feelings about me putting her father to death.

" Caleb and Chrissy, please sit down," I stated.

They both sat down in response to my request.

" Chrissy, I have asked Caleb to bring you to me so that way I can find out your views on the situation of the death of your father," I stated.

"Also, this is Donald." I pointed behind her.

Donald came in behind them. I told him to be as quiet as possible because if she was using magic, she would suddenly stop using it the minute he walked in. Chrissy assured Ne that she was not a supporter of her father or brother, for that matter, and that she had left the pack because she approved of how he was running that clan.

She also said that the only reason she came back was that she heard of the king of glycans taking over the clan and that he was mated to one of the slave girls. She was happy that Sarah was no longer being mistreated and that the slaves had been liberated.
