The Lost Princess Of The Lycans Chapter 35: The Rescue

King Rays POV

I left the girls in Sarah's room so they could finish getting ready. I was headed to my office to start getting the mating ceremony preparations ready. I wanted to mark her in front of the whole kingdom, so there was no disputing who had marked. There has been some controversy about a few kings who marked their mates in private. They were dragged before the royal courts and made to prove that they had marked them.

I didn't want that headache. I reached my office and sat down at my desk. I was looking on the internet for matching attire for me and her. In the human world they call this a wedding. But in our world we call it a mating ceremony. All the mates in my kingdom have to come before me and get approval. I have never disapproved of a match.

If they want to reject their mate, they have to have a very good reason. It's not like I let high school sweethearts determine the mating process. If they are truly meant to be together, then they have to go through a process and the mate that's going to get rejected has to be willing to let that happen. There has only been once that I didn't approve of the mate and that was my sister. I did not make her reject her true mate. I asked if that was what she really wanted. They are very happy together.

I found the perfect dress for Sarah. It was a prefect off-white dress that went down to the floor. It was very classy. I found my tuxedo. I was making the purchases when Caleb's mind linked me.

" We are under attack, and they took the princess," he stated.

"What do you mean under attack," I asked.

He then explained to me about being hit by a dumb truck out of nowhere and that 8 people took Sarah. I ran out of my office and called all my guards. As I was running out of the palace, I leaped into the air and shifted into Nash as fast as I could. We got to the crash site and picked up her scent, and we traced it to a house that had a basement.

From observation, the house was abandoned. I carefully have everyone examine the house inside and out. Zack comes out of the house and says they are interrogating Sarah in the basement, asking about alpha mark. Whoever it was wanted the alpha. I don't care, I want my queen back.

" Nash, we need to proceed with caution," I stated.

" Yes we do." he agrees.

We enter the house and go to the basement door. I could hear someone yelling at Sarah. I lost all control and burst through the door. I grab the one who has his raised towards Sarah by that arm. I threw him to the ground. I have him pinned. Sarah's chair got knocked over during the fighting. She crawled to the corner. Good right where I want her. She will be safe there until we get these people out of here.

Brittany has one in her mouth and manages to get free. His body lands next to Sarah and hits her. She looked startled, but that's it. She gets up and starts to fight alongside us. She then starts to run and leap in the air. While she is flying through the air, she shifts in mid-flight. She lands on all fours.

She has shifted for her first time during a fight. Her wolf Karina is beautiful. Her wolf has black and white fur with white dots around her ears. She is big as well. She is definitely of royal blood. She is fighting and takes down at least three of the perpetrators. She comes over to Nash. She doesn't have the mind link yet. She will once I mark her.

She is telling me that we need to question these people. I agree with her. We get the two that are alive and drag them out the door. She is starting to change back. By the time I get to her, she has already transformed back into her human form. She is curled up on the floor in a ball. I can tell she is hurting. That first shift should have been back at the palace, not here. She didn't seem to feel the pain while she was flying through the air. She is feeling it now. Plus this ordeal of being kidnapped.

I will be having words with everyone that was supposed to be protecting her. But right now I need to get Sarah's medical attention. I rushed over to her and picked her up and ran outside to the waiting SUV. I ordered them to floor it to the hospital. We got to the hospital and Dr. Bernard is already waiting. He took her directly for the X-ray. He then took us to a room. While we are waiting for the results, I tell Sarah how proud I am and how she amazes me.

Then Dr. Bernard comes in with her results. She thankfully has nothing majorly wrong with her. She just needs to rest. I left the room to go find some clothes for her. She is not going to leave the hospital naked. While I was gone, I sent Brittany in to apologize to her for not protecting her. I was going to have words with her. I could hear Sarah and Brittany talking. I burst through the door and started yelling at Brittany.

" Why are you yelling at her? It's not her fault she did the best she could." Sarah yelled.

She then gave me a very dirty look.

Brittany and I looked at her in shock. She is actually yelling at me because I was yelling at Brittany. I then ordered Brittany to leave.

" Young lady, she was assigned to help protect you," I stated.

" I understand that, but she was injured and so was I before I had been hit in the head and knocked out," she stated.

" She helped rescue me, and you will be kind to her," she stated.

" Spoken like a queen," I stated.

Dr. Bernard comes back in and says we can leave. As to emphasize that she is mad at me, she walks to the car by herself. She almost fell a dozen times. Every time I touched her she would slap my hand away. I finally get tired of her crabbiness and pick her up. She was kicking and screaming to put her down. I carry her to the car and dump her in the back seat.
