King Rays POV

We were asleep when a loud bang woke us up. I knew what was going on; the war had begun. Sarah was confused at the moment, but she would come around. She instinctively ran into the nursery, where I could see the nannies were getting the pups ready to go to the secret room. Just then, our bedroom door burst open. It was Brittany, Caleb, Donald, Izzy, and Jaunita. It shocked me, and I was on guard.

Donald came up to me and Sarah. He informed us that Sarah needed to go to the safe room and not be in the middle of everything. So, Donald and Sarah started heading to the safe room. I do not know if they made it or not. A witch instantly attacked me. She threw a fireball at me and knocked me down. It would take more than a fireball to take me out. I got up and jumped in the air, attacked the witch, and knocked her off her broomstick.

She fell to the ground, and I jumped on her. She was fighting against me, trying everything to be able to fire another fireball. I would not let her get her hands in the position to be able to do that. She punched me in the face and tried to knee me in the nuts, which she failed. I then punched her and knocked her out.

I left her where she lay, transformed into Nash, and joined in the fight with the other wolves. Witches were flying on broomsticks, and some were on the ground. I then heard a loud growl, and I knew that it was the dragon. They were shooting fire from their mouths and burning witches alive, which did not surprise me. You could hear their screams and smell flesh burning.

My warriors from the place were already here, which surprised me. I only sent a message to them late last night, which meant someone else must have told them before I sent the messenger. This could only mean that Brittany or her mate took it upon themselves to go ahead and send that message, or they had someone go and inform them.

The less experienced warriors had formed a line across the house, stretching in both directions and straight across. They were protecting the house and the dungeon. But no one knew exactly where Sarah was or where the pups were. Only three people knew where they were. I knew those people would not tell anyone, even if they were captured and tortured to death.

I wanted to win this war and deal with Zorro. I have no intention of not getting the bastard. He needs to suffer for what he has done. He would pay even though we had him, and he had cast a spell and tricked us. There were witches and warlocks fighting today. The dragons were shifting and throwing flames and burning them alive. I had told the king of dragons that I wanted a few left alive to be able to interrogate them.

Sarah was going to be safe once and for all. I was going to see that nobody hurt her ever again. She has been through so much in this life. I'm getting distracted by thinking about her. I needed to focus. I yelled at myself. That is one downfall with mates. You are always thinking about them. She is safe, and so are my pups.

I cleared my mind and got back into the fight. Donald was in front of the door to the secret room. But it did not look like a door was there. He had cast a spell to make it look like a wall. He was edging his way away from it. He fired a fireball at two witches flying past him on their broomsticks.

You would think that in this day and age, they would use other things when broomsticks fly on. We now have different things that could be used. But witches relied on old-school things. But it does not matter. We still fought with our hands and transformed into lycans other than guns, which suited us just fine.

We also had dragons fighting old school as well with claws and fire. As the war was raging, the weather started to change. I knew it was Sarah, but how was she doing it? She was not out there in the middle of the battle. Did she learn to control it without being right in the middle? We will find out. I did not have the time to try and comfort her right now so she would not hit any of our own.

I looked over to the left, where Donald was fighting, and he gave me a thumbs up. I knew he meant that he had taught Sarah something. Lightning started to rain down from the sky, and it was only hitting the witches—not anything else. So she was fighting in the battle without being present, which was awesome. Maybe her powers were very powerful, and she was beginning to tap into them.

The wind was focused on making it hard for the witches to fly. I was impressed. I had heard the dungeon rumble, and all was fine when I looked over at it. The pups must have gotten upset. But there was no way to tell if it was a battle making it rumble or if it was coming from inside the dungeon.

I was turning around when a black lycan came out of the woods. Another member of the lost lycan clan. They were all black with no other colors on them whatsoever. This lycan came up to me and bowed. Who was this, and what did they want? Were they here to help the witches or to help us?

The lycan then lounged at me, flew over my head, and landed on a witch. This glycan ripped out her throat. I guess that is my answer, and before I knew it, more came out of the woods. They were all attacking the witches, which surprised me because one of them had attacked Sarah. I wonder what they are playing at. I will ask later. Right now, I need to focus on what is in front of me, which is these witches.

I was in the first wave of lycans to attack, and then there was the second wave, which would take over as we needed to rest and regroup. I had a feeling that this was not going to be over in one short battle. There was a force field around the waiting lycans. They had already shifted and were baring their teeth. They were ready. I mind-linked my general and told him to release the second wave.

Several people were injured, and the medics were dragging them to safety. Luckily, Izzy had a force field around them to protect them while they did their job. The doctors were waiting with supplies and beds. I already had a makeshift hospital built to receive the injured, and the main hospital was filling up fast with the injured. Everyone who worked there also knew how to fight if they needed to.

That is one thing I have always insisted on. Everyone knows they have to fight if needed.
