The Lost Princess Of The Lycans Chapter 127: Another Surprise

King Rays POV

After speaking with Caleb in my office, I had him help me carry everything into my and Sarah's room. We arranged the desk in the corner of the room. It would be out of the way, and I could keep an eye on her and watch her. She was completely healed physically, but a head injury could be more profound than the flesh.

We do have brains, and they get damaged. That is what I'm more concerned about. They do heal, but not fast enough. Internal injuries take a while, and I don't know if she can heal internally as quickly as externally. I will watch and make sure she is OK. I also want to help with the pups. A war is coming, and I need everyone to be in the best condition.

Caleb and I finished setting up my office in our room, and then he left. I told him not to go far because we were going to interrogate the prisoner. When we cleared out the dungeon, only a few people were there. I had a couple of people waiting for their trial because one of them supposedly murdered someone and then tried to kidnap their daughter. Then I had a couple of drinks in there. I will be glad when the jail gets built.

The jail will be for prisoners who are just drunks and do petty things like stealing and so forth. The dungeon will be reserved for murderers and prisoners of war and rapists. We have specific laws that require the death sentence, and rape is one of those laws. I have been thinking about making the rapist go through what they did to the victim because once you have sex, whether it's willing or unwilling, your scent does stay on them for a time.

I will be walking around and checking on the progress of things. The dungeon had been repaired and reinforced. Nobody could break out of it, and there was only one way in and one way out. That was the front door of the dungeon. There was a secret entrance into the safe room through the kitchen closet.

Nobody but Brittany and I knew about that. I haven't even had an opportunity to show Sarah yet, but I will show her when she is better. She was asleep right now. The pups were beginning to fuss, which woke Sarah up. It's mom's ears, as I have always called them. My mother had them. She could hear me and Brittany fighting in the other half of the palace.

" I'm coming," she said as she started to get out of bed.

" I don't think so, princess," I stated.

I gently pushed her back into bed.

" I will bring them to you," I stated.

I then went and tended to the pups' needs as best I could. Then I brought them to her so she could feed them. She fed them, and I changed them and put them back into bed. I was not going to allow her to get up for any reason other than the necessary actions that I could not tend to.

I could tend to get her food and drinks, but when she needed to relieve herself, I would carry her into the bathroom. The doctor said the next twenty-four hours were when she would have signs of any damage. But so far, I have not seen any signs of damage. Maybe it was just all outside damage. That is what I am hoping for.

She cannot afford to be injured. There is an impending war. I need everyone, including Sarah, at 100 percent. Already, there have been rogue attacks all over. Donald has not returned from his kingdom. I sent him to find out what was going on. He has the ability to transform himself into something different, like another person or another creature. I hope he can find out the information that we need.

I want to avoid war. That is something I do not want to be remembered for. I have had a peaceful reign as king so far. There have been battles and attacks, but nothing like this. We were going to be fighting witches. They are the most vile of creatures. They can turn a kingdom upside down. They can make or break a victory.

I was going over some plans when there was a knock on our door. I did not recognize the person's smell coming from the other side of the door, so I grabbed a knife just in case I needed it.

" Come in," I yelled.

The door opened, and a woman in a black cloak walked in. I have never seen this woman before in my life.

" Who are you, and what do you want," I demanded.

" My name is Juanita," she responded.

" I wanted to inform you that the witches are gathering to attack in the next day or two," she responded.

That was interesting news. Why would this woman inform me that they plan on attacking soon?

" Who are you really," I demanded again.

" My name is Juanita, and I'm a witch," she responded.

I have a witch here warning me that they are going to attack. She has a reason for this. Is she a messenger, or is she looking for help? I do not know. I already mind-linked Caleb to come quickly and bring some people with him. I wanted to detain her and question her.

" I already know what you want," she spoke.

This startled me. I was deep in thought. I forgot those witches knew how to read minds. I'm sure Sarah had that ability, but she didn't use it. I don't think she even knew how. She had barely just learned to control her powers. Speaking of it, I had already pulled the curtain across the room so she would be able to rest.

But hiding this from her would be difficult since it happened in our bedroom.

"Let's go out to the living room," I said as I walked past her and into the room.

She follows me and closes the door behind her.

" What do you want," I demanded.

"I'm here to help you. Donald sent me. He is my father," she states.

I was unaware that Donald had any children. He did not speak of a child, nor did I ask. She was quite a shock.

" I mean no harm," she stated.

Just then, Caleb. Brittany and her mate were coming up behind her. I waved my hand to stop them.

" Where is Donald," I asked.

" He will be here shortly."' she responded.

We then sat down on the couch and talked. She told me where the witches were planning on attacking: the east side, which they thought was unguarded and a weak point. Caleb immediately got up and left the house. I did not need to ask what he was doing; I already knew. He was going to get warriors over there and secure it, but he would do it very quietly. They would be surprised.

We would need a spell of protection against the witch's power.
