The Lost Princess Of The Lycans Chapter 6: Mate

King Rays POV

We arrived at my hospital, and I summoned my doctor, Dr. Bernard. My sister was already there waiting for me. Caleb must have mind-linked her and told her where I was heading. I know she traveled in her wolf form because we are faster than a car in that form. Dr. Bernard reached for my mate.

"Mate," I growled.

He realized the situation and understood my reluctance to release her to him.

"Your majesty, you need to release her and let them treat her." my sister gently tells me.

As much as I hate to let her out of my sight, I know she is right. My mate's breathing is shallow, and I can tell she isn't doing well as her heartbeat is barely noticeable.

I reluctantly released her to Dr. Bernard.

"She had better be OK," I warned him.

"I will do anything to save her," he replied.

After Dr. Bernard takes her, he starts yelling for the operating room to be prepared and for all his nurses to report to him. As he disappears into the operating room with my mate, I turn to Brittany.

"It's Sarah. I found her, and she's my mate", I tell Brittany.

"Are you sure?" Brittany asks.

"Yes," I replied.

"I know it's Sarah by the birthmark on her thigh. I had the opportunity to look at her leg when we came here," I stated.

I can tell by her pale color she is in terrible condition. I'm thinking about all the horrible things that have happened to her. If the situation I witnessed tells me anything, I know she had been abused in every way imaginable. I need to contact her brother, King Eric, and inform him that I have found his sister. He is not going to be very pleased about her condition. I mind-linked Caleb.

"Is that man alive?" I asked.

"Yes, he's in the dungeon, Your Majesty," he replied.

" Alright," I say.

Then I went back to thinking about my mate. She has the most beautiful black hair, and her scent is intoxicating. Her skin is soft. From what I can tell, her breasts are a perfect size. She is curvy but fragile. And because of the wounds on her back, they must have been injecting her with silver. Silver stops us from shifting and prevents us from healing as well. I was deep in thought when Dr. Bernard came out of the operating room.

"Your Majesty," Dr. Bernard says.

" How is she? What's wrong? Is she going to be OK? " I started firing off question after question.

"Slow down, Your Majesty," he replied.

He then explained to me that the amount of silver nitrate in her blood would have killed a weaker wolf. Her being of royal blood was what helped keep her alive.

" I did an X-ray because her legs were bent at an angle. As I suspected, her legs had been broken on several occasions and never healed properly. I broke them and set them the proper way, and she must learn how to walk again. " He states.

"The number of scars and whip marks on her back tells me she has been beaten several times over the years, but this beating was meant to kill her," he continues.

" If you hadn't rescued her when you did, she probably would have died from such horrible treatment. Also, from the many scars on her wrist and the bruises on her rips and torso, that monster had beaten her over two or three days. Her eyes had swollen, and she had damaged vocal cords and a broken jaw. The fractured jaw will heal over time. I'm not sure about the vocal cords.

" This is going to upset, but I performed a rape kit on her. Telling by the amount of scar tissue and the new trauma she had been repeatedly raped," he states.

"WHAT?" I screamed.

"Calm down, Ray," Brittany says.

Nash had been listening to the conversation this whole time. He roars. He is pushing against the barrier to be released and exact his revenge.

"She's my mate," Nash says.

"I'll tear that man apart," Nash rages.

"You'll get your turn, I told Nash, but not before I have my chance," I responded to Nash.

Just as Dr Bernard finishes giving us his report on my mate, we hear the alarms in her room going off. We rush in, and she starts to scream. The princess is hyperventilating. She's trying to hurry as far back on the bed as possible. Dr Bernard grabs a syringe and fills it with a clear liquid. I grabbed his hand.

"What is that you're going to give her?" I demanded.

"It's a sedative," he says.

He quickly injects it into her IV, and she starts to calm down and fall asleep. I grabbed her hand and whispered.

"Rest, my little mate, I'll be here when you wake up," I said.

" She's weak from the amount of silver in her blood. We are flushing it out as quickly as we can. " Dr Bernard says.

"You'll have to be patient with her and go slow around her," he continued.

" She is unable to speak right now because of strained vocal cords and a broken jaw. She will have to learn how to talk again, " Dr Bernard says.

" With the proper care and support, she will heal entirely physically, at least. The emotional and psychological will take a lot longer to heal. "

" Thank you, doctor," I said. He tried to get me to leave, but I refused to leave her side.

" Mate is hurt badly," Nash says.

"Yes, she is," I responded.

"We will get our hands on the man who was torturing and deal with him accordingly," I reassured Nash.

"Yes, we will," he says.

I grab the chair from the corner of the room and put it by her bed. I'm assuming she'll sleep for a while, considering it looked like a lot of sedatives that the doctor gave her. I have my eyes glued on her. She's so beautiful. How could anyone hurt her? She is restless. She must be having a nightmare as she is thrashing around on the bed. She wakes up screaming, and we make eye contact.

"It's OK, little mate, I'm here."

I move towards her, and she screams. Maybe introducing myself would help. As I could tell, she was very appreciative.

"I'm Ray, my princess."

I move very slowly toward her, and she tries to hurry away. Then she starts to panic again, and I call for the doctor.
