The Lost Princess Of The Lycans Chapter 143: Responsibilities

King Rays POV

After my shower with Sarah, I still had work to be done. There were the injured to check on, and I wanted to check in with the dragons and see when they planned on leaving. Also, I said goodbye to Donald, and he took his people with him, including the prisoners and injured. After saying goodbye to Donald and watching him get everyone into a van, I then went and sought out Darren, the king of the dragons. I wanted to check in with him before he left or find out what he was doing.

I found Darren with his people in the courtyard. All of them seem to be in good spirits and seem to be OK after the war.

" HI there, old friend." I greeted him.

" Your majesty, what brings you here today?" he asked.

It is obvious.

" I've come to check in with you and ensure you're doing OK and that your accommodations are all right," I stated.

He gave me a rundown of the injured and said they were recovering nicely. They will be leaving in a day or two. They wanted to check in with the queen and ensure she was all right.

They were still in their tents. They refused to come into any houses or anything like that. I had a house reserved for them so they could be comfortable, but they wanted to stay in their tents and be near the Earth. I then went and checked on the injured lycans. Everything seemed to be in order. They were healing nicely, and we lost quite a few. But that is war. I then went back to my office to start writing condolence letters to the families that lost their mates. I already knew that their mates, who were waiting at home, felt the day that they lost their mates.

Nash is still happy about getting to spend time with Karina. It was a much-needed time for them. They have not had much time together since Sarah learned how to shift. I could not wait until this evening to have Sarah all to myself. I did have to take care of what I started earlier with her out in the garden. She seemed to enjoy that. It took her quite a while before she got her senses back and was ready to transform into Karina. I'm still amazed at how beautiful she is and how her body responds to me. Every time we are together and making love, it feels like the first time every time.

She has come so far since she was rescued. I still have a hard time believing that Roland did that to her. I knew that she was self-conscious about her scars and that she would forever have problems with self-esteem and believe that she was beautiful. But I will tell her every day if I need to, and I will show her every day just how beautiful she is. She participated well in her first

interrogation. I knew it took a lot out of her.

I can't imagine how she must feel about simultaneously having Karina and Ruby inside her head. Being a Lycan is challenging enough. You have to shift into a Lycan, and having a witch's spirit has to be ten times harder. Having to transform into a Lycan and having a witch's spirit, too, is difficult. It must not be easy at times. I don't know if Ruby and Sarah talk at all. I know her and Karina do. I want to speak to this Ruby myself.

But how would I get that to happen? I have so many questions and not enough answers. I know Donald will return in a few days after he takes his people and his injured people back to his kingdom. I will ask him about it. I knew he had punishments to deal with and executions to take place, as any King would punish any treacherous actions. I wonder what happened to Juanita's mother. He had never really mentioned her before. I'm assuming a creature or humans killed her. I knew witches had a bad reputation. Humans hunted them and executed them by fire.

Now, I must deal with all the dead bodies in the courtyard. There are a lot of witches that were burned, and we need to take care of their ashes. We need to clean up the courtyard, and I hope it rains soon because it will wash the blood away. This war was very senseless. I'm glad Zorro is dead, but now dealing with the person behind everything will be a difficult task. Why would someone want to clone someone who has been through so much? Doesn't he realize that they would have the same memories as Sarah?

I will find all the information I can about this person and deal with it promptly. I was still thinking about Sarah when I was sitting in my office; just seeing her naked body with the sun on her face was such an intoxicating sight. I felt my cock growing by the minute, but I still had important work to do. I needed to get the letters out to the families. I also needed to call the kingdom and check in and see how that was going. Whether we needed to come back or not.

I plan to leave here and then go to the White River clan and make it known that Caleb is now the pack's alpha. That they are to do what he says and treat him with respect. I knew we'd have some rebellion as some of the older Lycans were loyal to the previous alpha and his family. I wanted to make sure to deal with that promptly. I knew I was ready to go back to the palace because of the comfort that it holds. I can't wait to be on the floor of the palace where our little apartment is.

This whole trip has turned into something that I was not expecting. I came here to see what was happening, and I had to execute the alpha king. And now I'm the king of all alpha and rule over the entire kingdom. I then disbanded all the other kingdoms, and now many clans exist. And that I'm in charge of everything essentially. I put more responsibility on my shoulders. I did not know what I was going to do as far as ruling over 20 clans. I also needed to check in with The Red Rock Alpha. I had not seen him since the war, but every clan that participated in the war had camped outside the boundaries.

The warriors from every clan took turns patrolling the borders to ensure that there were no rogue attacks or surprise intruders. I also needed to make sure Brittany knew how important it was that her warriors would do the patrols once the other clan warriors left and returned to their clan. I also needed to ensure she understood her responsibility until we could find a suitable alpha. I know that she does not want that kind of responsibility or that kind of power.

But unfortunately, due to the circumstances, she will have to step up for a little while. I hated putting my sister in that position, but it was her duty as a princess as she is a royal family member. You don't get to pick and choose what you do and do not do. Unfortunately, that's just one of those things that you have to deal with. I finished writing my letters and called one of my warriors to deliver them to the grieving families. I hated writing letters like that because I knew there would be a lot of brokenhearted Lycans. I handed the letters to the warrior and shut off the lights. Now I'm going to find Sarah and finish what I started.
