The Lost Princess Of The Lycans Chapter 59: The Orphanage

Sarah POV

After Leeanna left the cafeteria, I had Alma bring me an apron and some gloves. I then had the servants bring in the leftover food. I went into the kitchen to help heat things up and serve.

" No, your majesty." Alma stated.

"No what." I responded.

" That is not your job," she stated.

" My job is to help my subjects." I stated,

" Now get an apron and some gloves for the rest of the servants and for Princess Brittany," I stated.

She quickly did as I asked. We are going to serve these kids, and then we are going to go see the babies. When I get to the guest house, I'm going to address this issue of understaffing with Ray. We sat up the food line and the little ones came in. They are amazed by what they are being served for dinner. We get them through the line as quickly as possible. Then the teenagers came in. They are just as amazed as the little ones were.

That tells me that they are not getting a variety of food. I'm going to make it a point to look in the walk-in freezer and refrigerator. Something seems suspicious. I don't think Ray gets around to visiting the orphanage much. From the look of her face when we arrived earlier was that of what are they doing here. We finished serving dinner, and then we washed the trays and cleaned up the hot bar.

There was plenty left over to donate to the Elders House. I sent about half the servants over there with the food. I will personally visit them tomorrow as it is starting to get late.

" Alma, I want all the financial records and food statements on your desk in the morning," I stated.

" Furthermore, I will be leaving six of my servants here to make sure you do not tamper with anything."

The look on her face told me all I needed to know. I was not going to like what I found. But that will be tended to tomorrow. The orphanage is quiet. I'm assuming whoever is taking care of the children has gotten them to bed. I walk around the orphanage and I see things that need repair. Also, why are there only five people working here? I see rooms for more staff.

Something is not adding up. The layout of the orphanage is on the second floor, and it is for children. There are ten rooms on the second floor. In nine of the rooms, I noticed 3 sets of bunk beds. The last room had five cribs in it. Four of the cribs have babies in them. They are sleeping. Then in one of the rooms with bunk beds are five toddlers. I did not see the little girl that ran into me.

Then in one of the rooms are kids that are between eight or nine years old. The next couple of rooms have teenagers in them. Then in one of the rooms were brother and sisters. That was when I saw the little girl that ran into me. Now it makes sense. Leeanna is Tanyas sister. I was pleased to see that they allowed the siblings to stay together.

I decided that it was time to go. I have seen enough. I was going to address this issue of the lack of staff and lack of care for the orphanage. It was starting to get late and Ray would start to worry. I was headed down the stairs when someone pushed me. I fell all the way to the bottom. The next thing I remember, I was tied to a chair.

" Your majesty" a woman's voice.

" Your majesty," the voice said.

" Yes, where am I? Release me at once?" I demanded.

" All in good time." I recognized the voice.

Its Almas voice. Why is she doing this? What have I done to deserve such treatment? I seem to be always getting myself in trouble.

" Alma release me" I demanded.

"I'm sorry your majesty, but I cannot," she stated.

" Why." I asked.

" I am being paid for you," she stated.

What did she mean being paid handsomely for me? What is going on? Now who wanted to use me against Ray?

" Karina, where are you?" I asked.

" You can't get your wolf to come forward," Alma stated.

" What have you done?" I asked.

" You are under a spell," she stated.

Then she gags me and leaves the room. I'm left alone in the room. It looks like an office. Would she seriously risk all these children? I knew something was wrong when I walked in here. I can hear Brittany searching for me. Why didn't I think about bringing her along on my tour of the orphanage? Why can't she find me?

I'm beginning to get really scared. Then all of a sudden there's that white light that radiates from me. The only color I see is green. I can hear the weather sirens going off. That means that the weather has changed. I already know Ray knows I'm in trouble. I can hear trees slamming around outside. Then total darkness.

The next thing I remember, I was standing up. I had somehow managed to untie myself. The robes are still smoking from where they were burned. The door crashes open and there is Nash. I climbed on top of his back. Then we headed straight to the guest house. I looked over my shoulder at the orphanage. There is little damage to the outside. Which is good. I can also see that the lights are on and there are four women standing in the doorway.

You can also see the children huddled around them. Now I feel bad for waking the kids up. But I wasn't going to be sold. I wandered what happened to Alma. I know there is something going on. Who keeps trying to kidnap me and convincing people to do their bidding? We need to get to the bottom of this.

We got back to the guest house. I like to call it a cottage. He transformed back into a human. Ray rushes over to me and carries me inside. There are a few scratches. He sat me down on the couch and I looked over and there was the witch. I quickly jumped to my feet and picked her up by the neck.

" Whenever you show up, I'm in danger," I stated.

I have her pinned against the wall, and she is struggling to breathe.
