Sarah POV

After reaching Ray and watching them take the witch away, Mandy collapsed. Then, the world stopped for me. There was roaring all around us. Then, the castle walls crumbled. I was so sad about what happened. It felt like my heart was breaking. I cried back to the White River Clan. When we got there, we went and checked in on the pups. They were fine and sleeping. I then went to the bedroom where we were sleeping. Ray stated that it was time to go home. I could not agree more with him. It was time to go home and not deal with any more chaos.

After that, I quit speaking altogether. I was so sad that I could not talk without crying. I sat on the bed, drawing circles on the carpet with my foot. There was so much to think about and so much to do. Some things needed to be packed, and goodbyes needed to be said. We went to take a shower, and then we went to bed. The next day was sad as well. Since Mandy had died, I felt like my whole world had ended. We were leaving and going home.

It was hard to get excited about going home when there was so much death. As a captive, I was never aware of how much death there had been. I helped reunite families while they were gone. Some alphas had been to death, and new ones promoted, but there were families in our kingdom that would never see their mates, brothers, sisters, and family members again. That broke my heart. I want to see my family members again. Speaking of Eric never said goodbye. I knew he had left that evening and returned to his people.

Which I was pleased with. I did get to know him and a little about our parents on this trip. Next time he visits us at the palace, I can learn more. I wanted to know as much about them as possible. When we get back, I will check out the library. It was a long drive back to the palace. Ray had said that there was a vast library at the palace. That I was looking forward to. It would give me a chance to brush up on my history.

Since the fight, I have not heard Ruby. But I knew Karina wanted to be let out. Let that happen when we got settled; she did not have much chance of getting released. Izzy was coming with us. Ray must have read my mind because he decided that she would be announced as the palace witch when we got back. That made me happy. There was still a lot I did not know about my powers. But I was a hybrid. I have learned so much about myself on this trip. I have come to accept that I was a hybrid and that there will always be people after me and the pups.

I knew we would be safe at the palace. It felt like we had been traveling for a while. When the palace came into view, the palace guards were waiting for us to arrive. I remember the first time I came here, I was severely injured, and I did not know what was going on. But now. I knew everything there was. I still had more to learn. But it is time to settle down and learn how to defend myself. When we arrived, there were plenty of people to help get the luggage.

I went to my and Ray's room when we got on the elevator to our floor. I wanted to take a shower and change. I needed to change into loose-fitting clothes. My stomach was growing because of the pup that I was carrying. This one was more active than the twins. But I figured it was because there was more room in my stomach. I took my shower and changed clothes. I then went to the nursery. There was already a new crib and new things for the new pup. The twin's cribs had been converted to little kid beds, and the nursery was all set up.

Everyone had been busy while we were gone. The pups were beginning to walk now. We have been gone way too long from here. I was pleased that we got to take them with us. But from then on, I would stay here when Ray had things to deal with. I would still train, but it would be to defend the palace while he was away. After settling down, there was a ball that was to welcome us home. Ray had a beautiful dress waiting for me when I changed to the bedroom. The former little plaything of Ray was no longer a threat to me. She bowed to me.

Things were going well. We danced and ate a feast. Then, it was time to call it a night. We stopped and checked on the pups. They were asleep. We then went to our room. I changed into some pajamas and then lay down in bed with Ray. He pulled me home.

" Princess, please speak," he stated.

" I have not heard your beautiful voice for a couple of days," he stated.

I still have not spoken since coming home. I still could not talk without crying. I was happy to be home, but I was still sad about all the families that lost loved ones while we were gone. I still could not face them. Ray had made sure that all the families that lost loved ones were going to be taken care of. Everyone knew about my powers, and they were not afraid. I could not face them because I knew they would see my eyes in sadness.

" I love you, baby," I stated.

" That's the beautiful voice I have been missing," Ray responded.

He then pulled me close. He held me all night. Then, when I woke up, he was gone. I got up and got dressed. The pups were playing in the nursery. I could hear them through the door. I did not bother to go into their room. Instead, when I turned around, rose petals were on the floor. They were not there before. I followed them to the kitchen. Ray was sitting at the table with a dozen roses.

" Are you ready for your happily ever after?" he stated.

" Yes," I stated.
