King Rays POV

The night after the executions, I had not anticipated Sarah going into heat. That had slipped my mind. When it did happen, she was shocked that she was in heat. I knew, even being a captive, she must have heard about it or witnessed it. I was not happy with myself because I was not prepared for it. I should have been prepared for it. On the last day that we were in confinement, we chose to sleep. We have been making love for four days on and off.

Tomorrow I have a lot to do. There are children we need to reunite with their families, and then we need to move on to the Red Rocks Clan. I need to make the rounds to the other clans as well. I now think she is pregnant again, which is not a huge surprise. A lot of female Lycans get pregnant when they go into heat for the first time. Sarah got pregnant before going into heat, which did happen. I'm glad that all the danger surrounding Sarah has passed.

Now, there should be things to worry about every day. We took a shower and went to bed. My alarm went off at six the next day. The sun was barely coming up, shining on the bed. Sarah was still naked and lying in bed. She looked so beautiful the way the sun hit her. It brought a glow around her. She truly looked like a goddess lying there. I could not help but stare at her. The blanket was half on her. It covered her bottom and top half, which was very visible.

She was lying on her back, and her breasts were very perky. Her hair was sprawled out above her head, looking like a halo. It was a beautiful sight. I took a picture with my phone. She heard the click of the camera.

" What are you doing?" she asked.

" That was such a beautiful sight. I took a picture with my phone," I responded.

She smiled. I enjoy seeing her smile. She did not blush this time, which was nice. She may be starting to believe that she is beautiful. It has been almost a year since she was rescued. She was doing amazing. She was healed and getting stronger every day.

" Let's go get some breakfast," I stated.

" That sounds good. Let me get dressed." She responded.

She went to the bathroom. She was not there long when she came out. She was wearing a blue jogging suit. She looked good. We then went to the kitchen. Eric was there. He immediately got up and pulled out Sarah's chair.

" That won't be necessary. She will be sitting on my lap," I stated.

" Someone sounds jealous," Eric responded.

What he said is the truth. I was jealous. It was my job to pull her chair out. But I also understood that he was being a brother. I will put up with it temporarily. Eric had not been around his sister that much. So I will indulge him. But when Sarah was given the choice of where to sit, she sat on my lap.

" You could have sat in the chair," I stated,

" I want to sit on your lap," she responded.

Her reaction told me she felt the safest sitting on my lap. I will wait for a while before announcing we are expecting again. I know the pups are growing fast. But that is normal for Lycan pups. They grow fast until they are ten years old, then slow down as they fill out their features. We then started eating our dinner. Eric again told stories of how he grew up and how he was first in his class when he was in the academy.

Which was true. He was first in his class, not because he was a royal, but because he worked hard. I was also first in my class because I worked hard and trained hard. We finished our breakfast, and Eric excused himself, saying he needed to help finish building something. Sarah and I went into the living room.

" Princess, I have a lot to do today. I want you to go to the new orphanage and help the families there," I said.

" That's what I had in mind," she responded.

We then visited the pups for a few minutes and went our separate ways. I then kissed her goodbye. I had extra guards assigned to her. I wanted her protected. Later, I would shift and let Nash have some time to run. He has not been able to get let out very much, and he needs to stretch. I will ask Sarah if she wants to go with us. After ensuring the guards were in place, I went to find Caleb.

I needed to check with him on how things were going, see his finance log, see where the money was coming from and what taxes were being applied, and see what income sources there were. I knew that they farmed a lot of land and grew crops. I also knew that they sold them to village people and stores. I was walking to the alpha's house when a strange scent caught me off guard.

It was the smell of sulfur. If I did not know any better, there were dragons here. They are the only people capable of smelling like that. But why would there be dragons here? Were they here by invitation? I knew I had been busy with Sarah. Taking care of her and other things as well. The smell kept getting stronger as I got closer to Caleb's house. It was coming from there. I cautiously approached his house just to be careful.

When I went to his house, everything seemed alright. Nothing seemed to have happened. I knocked on the door, and Chrissy answered. She was holding her pup.

" It's a pleasant surprise to see you and the beautiful pup," I stated.

She bowed to me.

" Caleb is expecting you," she stated.

" Thank you," I responded.

I then walked to his office. I knocked on the door.

" Come in." I heard Caleb shout from the other side of the door.

I stopped at the door for another second, and the sulfur smell came from Caleb's office. When I opened the door, Darren and Caleb were sitting behind the desk.

" I wish I could say this was a pleasant surprise," I stated.

I wish I could say that, but I can't. When dragons come to Lycans for help, that is not good.

" What is going on?" I asked.

" Darren is here to ask for help," Caleb stated.

" What is happening, Darren, that you need help?" I asked.

" We have been under attack from the witches," Darren stated.

Why are the witches attacking dragons? That is not like them. Dragons have nothing witches want unless a dragon has attacked them first.

" Did a dragon attack them first?" I asked.

" No, not that I am aware of," he stated.

It would be strange if a dragon had not attacked them. Then why are they attacking dragons? Again, Donald is here. So, I know he has not ordered them to attack. Witches are vile creatures. They cause a lot of mischief. Is there a witch that is trying to overthrow Donald? That happens a lot in their ranks. You do not have to have a strong bloodline to destroy them. They are also humans, after all. Some have been born witches, mated with humans, and then the blood gets mixed. That is why you have half humans and half witches. But they are not like us. They don't have fated mates. They get to choose who they mate wit
