The Lost Princess Of The Lycans Chapter 27: What
Sarah POV
As I was falling to sleep, Ray said," I love you" to me. I woke up with so many thoughts and questions. Did I hear that right? Did he actually say he loved me? I don't know what love is. I have never been told I love you by anybody before. I was never shown any type of love. But I did have feelings for him. I mean deep feelings. I know that your mate is supposed to be with you forever unless they reject you. He has not rejected me. In fact, the opposite. He has accepted everything about me. Even when I try to run away from him. I mean I can't actually run, but I do try and get away from him. Only when I'm scared out of my mind and don't know where I am. He is so patient.
I wish my mom was alive, so I could talk to her about this. No one has ever told me what love was or what it was not. I'll talk to Brittany. From what I can tell, she was happy and seemed to be in love with her mate. She was coming by this afternoon. For now, I'm getting ready to go see the doctor. Maybe I'll get my cast off today. He took some blood. Last night when he was here, I guess because I fainted or maybe to see if the silver was getting out of my system. Whatever the reason, maybe he'll have the results.
I would like to get some pants or at least some leggings. Also, some full-length skirts. Also, some more shoes. It was going to start getting cold. The leaves were starting to change. I finished getting ready and had Stacey take me to the kitchen. Mike has watermelon cut into little squares. Also, there are eggs and sausages. My stomach growled. I hadn't eaten anything since dinner last night. I took small portions. That was all I could eat.
I was waiting for Ray to come up from the first floor. While I was waiting for Ray to arrive, I decided to explore a little. I came to a door that was at the end of the hall. I opened the door and, to my surprise, there were wall-to-wall books. I love to read. I'm not very good at it. That's something I've always wanted to change. Nobody really taught me to read and write. I would read newspapers and books that were left out. As well as writing, I would copy the letters and read what I wrote. It took a long time to get where I am.
I went to the library. I was wheeling myself up and down the rows of books. I was so entranced with all the books that I didn't hear anyone come up behind me. I got startled when Ray spoke to me.
" Hey sweetheart what are you doing," he asked.
I pointed to the books.
" Do you like to read?" he asked.
I shook my head, yes.
"OK darling, when we get back from the doctor I'll bring you in here and let you pick out some books." he stated.
I shook my head, yes.
"Alright, we need to get to the doctor." he stated.
I grabbed a book off a shelf, and we headed to the elevator. I really wanted to go to the doctor. I wanted to get these casts off my legs. We went to the main floor. There were Caleb and Brittany. I had Ray stop. I grabbed my dry-erase board and pointed to Brittany.
"Yes your majesty," she responded.
I wrote that I needed to talk.
"Is everything OK." she asked.
I nodded my head yes.
"Alright, when you get back we will talk." she stated.
I nodded my head in agreement with her. Ray had a weird look on his face. We went and got into the backseat of one of the black vans. On the way to the doctors, Ray turned to me.
"Is everything OK?" he asked.
I nodded my head yes.
"Did I do something wrong?" he asked.
I shook my head no. I then wrote that I needed a girl's advice.
"Oh" he said.
It wasn't that I didn't trust Ray, but how do I ask him what love is from a girl's perspective? I needed to know. He just pulled me closer to him and hugged me.
"If you need girl advice, then talk to my sister all you want," he said.
Ray was so understanding. There was that familiar spark when he touched me. It always stayed there long after he touched me. We arrived at the hospital. I hesitate when Ray puts me in my wheelchair. He senses my discomfort.
" Now darling, we are just here for a check-up," he stated.
I nodded my head in agreement. I really had no choice in the matter. It wasn't like I could run away. We go into the main lobby and Ray checks me in. It didn't take long before Dr. Bernard came out and took us to the back. He then turned to me.
"How are you, your majesty?" he asked.
I wrote I'm good.
" Thats good." he states.
" We are going to X-ray your legs and see if they are healed.
I nodded my head yes.
I got taken down for X-ray, and they took pictures of my legs. They took me back to the room and back to where the doctor and Ray were. The doctor had a good expression on his face. I hope that means it's good news this time.
"Sarah, I'm pleased to tell you that you are healing nicely. The silver is almost completely out of your system, and by what the blood work is saying, that means your legs should be healed as well." The doctor stated.
"We will see what the X-rays say." he stated.
We waited for another half hour, and he came in with a saw. I have seen that saw before, it is made to cut off casts.
