The Lost Princess Of The Lycans Chapter 198: The Death Of The Dragon Queen
King Rays POV
These witches never stop. They are always trying something to get Sarah. We found Mandy tied up in a closet. I thought it was strange that the dragons gave her a standing ovation and that " Mandy" was the one who led it. So I spoke with Darren about when they left to go to the kitchen together.
" What are you doing?" I asked.
" I was just going along with Mandy," he responded.
" That was different and completely unnecessary," I stated.
" Yes, that was odd," he stated.
We were heading to the kitchen when we heard a thumping noise from a nearby closet. Both Darren and I let our claws come out. Whatever was in that closet was going to get hurt. When we opened the door, Mandy fell out. We were both in disbelief that someone had tied up the Queen of dragons.
" Who has done this to you?" Darren asked.
" There was a little girl, and then when I tried to help her, she turned into a woman and knocked me out, then tied me up and threw me in the closet," she responded.
She did have a massive bump on her forehead. Who would have done such a thing to her? I already knew it was the witches. But they cannot even shift into lycans or dragons. So it was Mandy fighting with us. It happened after the battle. Mandy must have been going to get some clothes when she was attacked. These witches will try anything to win. But this time, they failed miserably. Mandy was weak, but she could walk on her own. But I knew that there was something wrong with her. I could smell it.
We found Sarah running towards us. She was not paying attention to where she was going and ran into me. I caught her as she fell. It was then that I realized the witch was following her. She was immediately caught and taken to Darren's dungeon. Just then, Mandy collapsed. I tried to hear a heartbeat, but it was hard to find she was close to death. If a dragon's mate dies, especially a king of the dragons, they will all hibernate until their second chance mate is found. Doctor Bernard came as quickly as possible. He pronounced her dead. Darren dropped to his knees and let out a roar of despair.
All the dragons roared in despair with him. Then, the castle started to crumble around us. I grabbed Sarah and immediately ran out with her. We watched as the castle turned to dust. Darren was buried under the rumble. We sadly retreated to our vehicles and left. Sarah was crying in the passenger seat. I pulled her into my lap and held her. She was sad, and I could do nothing when we got back to the White River Clan.
" I think it's time for us to return home now," I stated.
" I could not agree more," Sarah stated.
I decided that we were going to return home. The dragon's egg was securely locked in my vault and will stay there until Darren comes for it. Even if I'm dead, I will inform Raymond when he gets older. But now it was time to go home. The other clans will have to wait for a visit. Sarah needed to raise our children. I would travel to the other clans when the timing was right. Since Sarah had been rescued, she had not had a moment's peace. But now all the threats have been taken care of. It was time to return to the palace. Sarah was safe now, and we could settle down.
The clans I have taken care of with the cruel alphas have the best possible new alphas. I met with the alphas from the other clans and told them that it was time for me and the Queen to return to the palace. They could handle anything that would come their way. I had faith in them. I then went to Caleb.
" Old friend, it is sad to say goodbye to you," I stated.
" I understand you need to get your family home and keep them safe," he responded.
We said our farewells. We also said goodbye to Brittany. That night, I wanted to spend time with just Sarah. We stopped briefly in the pups' room. They were fine, and they were asleep. After checking in with the pups, we went to our room. I turned on the shower and got it to the right temperature. She was sitting on the bed. She was staring at the floor. She had tears running down her face. She was drawing a circle with her foot on the carpet. It broke my heart to see her crying again.
I was not going to try and distract her from her pain. She was sad that people had lost their lives. As a good Luna and Queen should. She needed that relief. I deal with my emotions in other ways. I was angry that the witches had escaped Darren's castle. There was no way she could have gotten in there during the battle. She must have got in after the fact. Izzy was still upset about the death as well. I did not know Mandy very well. I knew she made Darren happy. But tonight was the end of the dragons for a while. When his second chance mate comes along, he will awaken again.
I prayed to the powers that be that he would find her quickly. Or, more appropriately, she would see him. Only one dragon king did not go into hibernation until his second chance mate came along. He continued to live normally. But he was sad and angry all the time. But when she did come along, his view of life changed. I walked over to the bed and held my hand out to Sarah. I helped her get off the bed and carried her to the shower. I stripped her clothes off and then took mine off. I picked her up and stepped into the bathtub with her.
I was still holding her and letting the water run over our bodies. Sarah finally quit crying. She stared at the wall and did not say a word for long. We got out of the shower, and I placed her on the toilet seat and dried her off. I got her some warm and soft pajamas out of the closet. I will have Stacey and the nannies pack to return to the palace tomorrow. Tonight was going to be about being with my mate and holding her. Darren losing Mandy broke my heart for him and made me think about what I would do if I ever lost Sarah.
She is my true mate. I would not want any mate besides her. She needed to know how much she meant to me. After helping her get dressed, I carried her to our bed. I laid her down on the bed. She rolled over. I knew she was still awake and probably staring at the wall. I climbed in behind her. I then gently pulled her to me. She grabbed my hand and held it like her life depended on it. She was just as scared about losing me as much as I was afraid of losing her. She was shaking. I knew she was not cold, but she was shaking from today.
She last said that she agreed with me about returning to the palace. I knew she was more than ready. But who will she be tomorrow when we wake up? Will I hear her beautiful voice again? Or will she go back to being mute?
