The Lost Princess Of The Lycans Chapter 161: Saying Good-Bye To Brittany

Sarahs POV

It was time to leave and go back to where I was tortured and abused. I was dreading it, but at the same time, I knew that it had to happen. I helped the nannies put the pups in their car seats. I then grabbed my personal hygiene items from the bathroom and took the rest of the shoes with me: a pair of sneakers, dress shoes, and boots. I also made sure there were clothes that, if I shifted, I did not mind getting torn up.

I then looked around the room and got sad. So much has happened since we came here, some good and some bad. I have fond memories here. I turned off the light and walked out of the bedroom and into the living room. Again, there was sadness as we were leaving. I will never forget this place, the first home to which I brought my pups home. I would remember to tell the pups when they got older where their first home was.

Brittany walked into the living room from the kitchen. She had tears in her eyes. This was going to be her new home. She is the alpha of this pack now. She would not be joining us on our travels, and she would not be coming back to the palace with us. I was going to miss her so much. The weather had changed outside, and it was raining. But it's not an angry; it's more of a drizzle. It was because I was sad. There was a light breeze, too. But the weather was not angry.

Ray walked in the front door. He walked up to me and hugged me. Then he went to Brittany and hugged her. When he turned towards me, he had tears in his eyes. I can't imagine what he must be feeling. Brittany and he have spent the majority of their lives together. She would no longer be in the same house or land as him. She also had tears in her eyes. This was a significant change for them both.

Her mate was by her side, rubbing her back. I then walked over to her and hugged her. She was my first friend since I was rescued. She was also my first protector. She yelled at Ray several times on my behalf, and I defended her against him.

" Now, sis, I'm just a phone call away, and I will be there whenever you need me," she said.

" I know I'm going to miss you," I responded.

" I will miss you and that big brother of mine," she stated.

She then let go of me and escorted us to the door. I excused myself and walked to the car. I wanted to give Ray and Brittany some privacy. They gave each other a final hug and said their final goodbyes. Then the nannies came out with the pups, and Brittany kissed them goodbye. We all loaded into the vans and started our journey to the White River clan. It was dark and raining. Given the circumstances of our departure, I knew it would rain for some time.

I knew she would be a great leader and do what was right. The nannies made sure the pups' car seats were buckled up correctly. One sat on the left, and the other sat on the right, with the pups in the middle of them. I sat on the opposite side of them. I was by the right passenger door, and Ray got in and sat by the left passenger door.

" What do you think you're doing?" he asked me.

" What do you mean," I responded to him.

He then pulled me close to him. He then draped his arm over my shoulder and got close to my ear.

" You know, I prefer you to sit on my lap," he whispered.

I did not forget about it, but because of the low ceiling, I could not sit on his lap in this van. So, I turned sideways and draped my legs over his lap.

"That's better. I know you can't sit on my lap in this van," he responded.

He loves me sitting on his lap. But sometimes that can't happen. I loved sitting on his lap. I felt safer and comforted when sitting on his lap. We started our journey to the White River Clan. I had brought a blanket along, so I could nap there. I checked on the pups in their car seats, who were sound asleep. I turned around in the seat with my back against Ray and leaned my head on his shoulder. I then closed my eyes. I was not asleep for long when I woke up screaming.

" Shh baby, it's just a nightmare," he stated.

" You are safe," he reassured me.

I leaned against him again and let my breathing slow back to normal. Ray continued to stroke my hair gently. I pulled his other hand closer, positioned it between my breasts, and held it against my face for comfort. It was chilly in the van. I knew the heater was on because I could feel the hot air blowing from the vent in the door, but I was still cold. I sat up and tucked my blanket under my legs, then leaned back on it and pulled it up to my chin.

When I was finally comfortable again, I lay there against Ray, watching the stars outside the window. The moon was full and bright. It looked beautiful. But I had a sense of doom. Like I was going to go back to hell. Everything that happened was a beautiful dream. In a way, it felt like it was ending. But I knew it was not a dream and that I would be safe and protected. But I just had a bad feeling. Like something terrible was going to happen. I was still sad about saying goodbye to Brittany.

I knew I would see her again. She was still a family member but now had her clan to care for. Things were changing for the better. The people of the Great Plains Clan would now have better lives and a better leader. There would be no more slavery and no more unfair punishments. I could not say that they would never be involved in another war because there were always going to be wars and violence. But with Brittany as their leader, they would always prevail.

The thought of her being an excellent leader made me smile. I was finally relaxed enough again that I laid my head back. Then, out of nowhere, a Hummer rammed into the side of the van ahead of us. It hit it so hard that it spun it around, and it hit our van. I instinctively covered the pups with my boy to protect them. Ray reached for me as the ban flipped over. I hit my head and was in a daze when the door was yanked open.

I was then drugged out of the van and dropped on the ground. Ray was next to be drugged out of the van. Then the nannies and then the pups. Our warriors surrounded us, and then I heard growling and fighting. I blacked out.
