The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 106: Tony Is Punished
Mira and Victoria strolled past the playground and noticed a guy getting chewed out by a teacher.
He was tall and skinny, with damp chestnut hair plastered to his forehead. His downcast eyes made his light-colored lashes look even longer and thicker.
His lips were dry and pale, probably from running for ages, making him look pretty miserable.
Mira recognized him as Tony, Jasmine's brother.
Unlike Jasmine, who was always in the spotlight at Nexus College, Tony kept a low profile, but that didn't help him much.
Thanks to Ethan and his crew, Tony was often shunned by others.
When he first showed up, his good looks and the girls' interest in him made him stand out.
But soon enough, everyone realized he had somehow ticked off the Charming Four from the Computer Science department, and no one wanted to be seen with him anymore.
During team activities, no guys wanted to pair up with him, which often got him in trouble with the teachers for not completing tasks.
The teachers were also extra hard on him, doubling his punishment for even the tiniest mistakes.
Today, the student affairs director had made him run ten laps around the playground just because he wasn't wearing his school badge.
Moreover, his badge went missing after he changed clothes for P.E. class, clearly stolen on purpose.
This kind of thing had been happening a lot lately, and Mira felt a bit sorry for him. "He didn't really do anything wrong. He can't choose his parents," she said.
She thought Jessica deserved the blame for breaking up Roy's family, but Tony wasn't as much at fault.
It was one thing for Roy and his friends to bully him once or twice, but for the entire Nexus College to ostracize him seemed a bit excessive.
Victoria shook her head and said softly, "He's not as innocent as he looks."
Tony had returned to the Murphy family to fight for the inheritance, and grabbing a huge fortune from others wasn't easy. If he couldn't handle it, he could transfer to another school.
The fact that he endured all this and stayed at Nexus College meant it was more beneficial for him to stay.
Mira shrugged. She didn't understand the lives of the wealthy and didn't want to get involved.
The student affairs director finally let Tony go. He walked over slowly, looking weak from running on an empty stomach.
As he passed by, he stumbled and bumped into Victoria. She reached out to steady him.
He forced a weak smile. "Thanks."
Victoria frowned, stepped back, and said distantly, "No problem." Mira stood by, smiling awkwardly.
Just then, Ethan's voice cut through the air, "What's going on here?"
He and Roy had just wrapped up their tasks and spotted Tony looking a mess from a distance.
They were laughing until they saw Tony seemingly hug Victoria. Although they quickly separated, Ethan felt a surge of annoyance and marched over.
Seeing Roy, Tony quickly said, "Roy, I just lost my balance, and Victoria only helped me. Please don't give her a hard time; she's just a girl."
He glanced at Victoria with a gentle look, as if worried she'd be targeted because of him.
Unfortunately, Victoria knew he was manipulative and wasn't moved at all. Besides, she was tight with Ethan and the others, so she didn't need his protection.
Ethan sneered, looking at him with disdain, and pulled Victoria to his side.
Roy also looked disgusted. "Cut the crap," he said. "Don't go around telling people you're my brother, or I'll make your life even worse."
Jessica had brought Tony and Jasmine into the Murphy family, and now Roy had to see them at home, keeping up a facade of peace in front of Marc, which made him sick.
Victoria and Ethan left with their friends, leaving Tony standing alone, his eyes deep in thought.
Jasmine had already told him that Victoria was close with Ethan and his friends and that she was Eric's girlfriend.
But from his earlier test, it was clear that Ethan was the one who cared the most. Victoria had only helped him up, and Ethan was already jealous.
Plus, when Victoria walked with the group, she kept a bit of distance, not like a couple at all. Thinking of this, Tony's lips curled into a slight smile.
Ethan had come to find Victoria to play chess. Since seeing him play at the nursing home, Victoria had become interested in chess and had asked Ethan several questions about it.
So, Ethan had offered to teach her, and lately, they often played chess in the snooker club's lounge.
Eric even joked that they were like old folks, sharing the same hobbies.
Everyone else went to play snooker, leaving Ethan and Victoria alone in the room.
The room was quiet, with only the sound of chess pieces being placed and occasional soft conversations.
Victoria focused on the chessboard, her mind constantly running through the moves and strategies.
Ethan, on the other hand, was relaxed, able to point out several strategies with just a glance at the board.
While teaching, he had time to admire Victoria's delicate face, especially her slender hands holding the black chess pieces, a striking contrast that was quite captivating.
