The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 121: The Bet

Sophia glanced at the reindeer in the pen and burst out laughing. "These useless creatures? They're not worth a thing. I just ride them for fun. Even if you break their legs, you won't beat me."

Victoria's tone stayed calm. "What if I win?"

Sophia shook her head, her voice dripping with disdain. "You? No way."

Victoria pointed to Queen, who was grazing nearby. "I choose this reindeer."

From the first moment she saw Queen, Victoria recognized its exceptional lineage.

Animals with true strength always carried themselves with pride.

She had heard that Sophia bought Queen but never managed to tame it.

A reindeer that wasn't even afraid of the whip—so strong-willed! Victoria admired Queen even more, believing it was the only chance to surpass Sophia.

Sophia's face darkened as she remembered her own struggles with Queen.

Queen indeed had the best reindeer lineage and was a rare pure white reindeer.

When Sophia bought her, she had high hopes. But Queen had been too unruly as a youngster, throwing Sophia off every time she tried to ride it.

In frustration, Sophia had cut Queen's tail and returned it.

She didn't believe Victoria could tame Queen, especially now that Queen was older and past its prime.

Confidently, she said, "With it? You're dreaming."

Victoria replied, "Fine. If you think it's impossible, let's make a bet. If I break the record, you stand still and let me whip you once. If I lose, you can whip me once."

"Victoria, don't risk yourself," Samuel quickly interjected.

He had already called Thaddeus's assistant, and someone would soon come to handle the situation. There was no need for Victoria to put herself on the line.

The Hamilton family had significant influence in Lytheria.

Victoria shook her head. "I want to avenge Ethan."

She had seen Samuel make the call and knew he could resolve the issue.

But she wanted to defeat Sophia in her most confident domain, to crush her arrogance completely. She also had faith in Queen and believed she could win.

Nick and the others agreed; as men, they couldn't directly compete with Sophia, but Victoria was a perfect match.

Sophia laughed. "If you insist, I accept. If you win, I'll apologize and let you whip me. If you lose, I get to whip you twice."

Sophia considered herself more noble than Victoria. For her, taking one whip in exchange for Victoria taking two was a fair deal.

Ethan, his hand bleeding, was the first to object. "I don't agree!"

Victoria raised her voice. "I agree."

She then whispered to Ethan, "Go inside and treat your wound. Come out later to see me avenge you."

She was determined to whip Sophia herself today.

Sophia pointed at Victoria. "You're pretty bold. But you're gonna regret making this bet."

She smiled confidently, knowing Victoria couldn't break her record. Even if she lost, she could always cheat.

She wasn't about to stand still and get whipped. Lytheria was her turf, and these outsiders didn't stand a chance.

Samuel and Ethan tried to talk Victoria out of it, but she was determined. They had no choice but to let the race happen.

Samuel had already decided that even if Victoria lost, he wouldn't let her get whipped.

The Hamilton family's cherished daughter had the privilege of bending the rules, even in Lytheria. They, like Sophia, had the power to set the rules.

With the decision made, Ethan went inside to treat his wound.

Declan tried to persuade Victoria. "Ms. Hamilton, Sophia isn't one to keep her word. Even if you win, she might not honor the bet. But if you lose, she'll definitely make you pay. This bet is unfair to you."

Victoria ignored him and led Queen out.

Declan followed, still trying to convince her, but Victoria interrupted. "Who's timing the race?"

Declan hesitated. "Usually, it's me."

He then smiled wryly. "Ms. Hamilton, no matter what I say, you're not changing your mind, are you?"

Victoria nodded. "Thanks for your concern, but my decision is final."

Declan stopped trying to persuade her. He now hoped that Victoria and her team could truly challenge Sophia.

If Sophia could be taught a lesson and change her arrogant ways, it would be for the best.

Declan watched as Victoria led Queen, finding it odd.

Queen usually disliked strangers touching it, but it didn't resist Victoria. Still, he worried that Queen might throw Victoria off.

He offered, "Queen has no experience being ridden. How about I give you another reindeer? Mine has excellent lineage and a gentle temperament, less likely to cause injury."

Victoria shook her head. If Declan's reindeer could break the record, Sophia wouldn't be the current record holder.

Besides, she liked Queen. She gently stroked Queen's antlers and said softly, "Queen, work with me, and we'll get revenge together."

Queen seemed to understand, looking at her and letting out a long, low call. This gave Victoria even more confidence.

Declan was also surprised, feeling a sense of anticipation for a miracle.

Victoria led Queen to the starting line, where Samuel and the others were waiting, smiling and greeting her.

Sophia sat with her group on the side, having set up a table, chairs, and a windbreak tent.

She sipped yogurt and mocked Victoria and Queen. "You really brought Queen out. I bet you'll be thrown off after just a few steps. Don't even think about beating me; you might as well give up now!"
