"Wow, you must be rolling in it! This car must've cost a fortune, right?"

Nick laughed heartily. "Yeah, it set me back seven million dollars." 

In reality, he had to bug his dad for ages before he finally caved and bought it. 

But Nick played it cool, which only made the other guys more envious. 

They were into cars too, but their families only had enough cash to buy cars worth a few hundred thousand dollars and then spend time modifying them.

"I knew it! It looks just like the one I saw at the car show last time. That one was five million without any upgrades. Yours must be the top model, huh?"

Nick turned off the engine and started chatting enthusiastically with them, even inviting them to touch the car without worry. "Yeah, you like it? Hop in and check it out."

The guy talking was Lon Ramos, a blond dude with a nose ring. He excitedly climbed into the car, touching everything. "Did you come here for the party tonight? You're so handsome, why didn't you bring a girl with you?"

Nick replied, "There's a party tonight? We didn't know, we just came here to hang out. I brought my sister, she's right over there."

When Victoria and Ethan arrived, they saw Nick chatting animatedly with a group of young guys in leather jackets. Nick waved them over, asking if they wanted to join the party. 

Ethan looked at Victoria for her opinion. She blinked and said, "We've been out in the cold for a while, it's time to warm up and have some fun. Let's go."

They drove off the main road and parked in a nearby open area, which was already filled with modified cars. It seemed like this was the gathering spot for the Autumn Mountain racing gang. 

In the middle of the clearing, a group of people were gathered around a bonfire, playing and laughing. 

There were several tents set up with string lights hanging around. A Jeep nearby was powering a generator, blasting rock music through the speakers. 

As soon as they parked, they attracted a lot of attention. 

Lon, clearly a regular here, shouted, "Hey everyone, let's give a warm welcome to our new friends! They're the real deal!"

The young crowd cheered wildly, welcoming them. 

When Ethan, Victoria, and the others got out of the car, the cheers grew louder as they saw the good-looking newcomers. 

Although they didn't know each other, they quickly bonded over drinks, snacks, and car talk. 

Several guys tried to hit on Victoria, but Ethan's commanding presence quickly scared them off. 

They couldn't very well hit on a girl in front of her boyfriend, especially when Ethan was tall, handsome, and drove a great car. 

They had no chance and could only think that only a luxury car could match such a beautiful woman.

Victoria found it a bit dull to only talk to people she knew at this kind of outdoor party, so she nudged Ethan to mingle. She went to grab some drinks and fruit. 

While she was picking up a plate of cherries, a woman with long, sparkly nails tapped her on the shoulder and asked, "Hey gorgeous, is that guy you were with your boyfriend?"

Victoria turned around with a cherry in her mouth and saw a stunning woman. 

She was wearing a tight sweater with a cutout that showed a bit of cleavage, heavy makeup with smoky eyes and exaggerated blue lashes, and bright red lips holding an e-cigarette. 

Victoria swallowed the cherry and replied, "No, he's not."

The woman was Rosalind Claire, the sister of the racing gang leader, and a regular at these gatherings. 

Hearing Victoria's answer, Rosalind's smile brightened. She lightly tapped Victoria's glass and said, "Thanks, enjoy yourself tonight. Eat and drink as much as you want, it's on me." 

With that, Rosalind swayed away.

Victoria watched her leave, thinking, 'Wow, she has an amazing figure, but that's none of my business.' 

She continued to look around, finding the people and setup quite interesting, with a raw and wild beauty. 

But soon, Rosalind was back, and this time she wasn't as friendly. "Are you messing with me?"

Victoria asked, puzzled, "What happened?"

Rosalind put one hand on her hip and huffed, "You said that guy wasn't your boyfriend, so I went to hit on him. But he turned me down and said you were his girlfriend. If you had told me you were a couple, I wouldn't have bothered him. I'm not the kind of girl who chases after someone else's boyfriend." 

Rosalind was beautiful and had plenty of admirers. She had just broken up with her boyfriend a few days ago. She wasn't some desperate girl who would let a couple play her for a fool.

"What?" Victoria raised an eyebrow. 

Rosalind, seeing her reluctance to admit it, started to suspect that Ethan had used it as an excuse to reject her. 

She grabbed Victoria's arm and said, "Come with me, you two need to clear this up in front of me."

Rosalind asked Ethan, "So, are you two really a couple?"

Ethan saw Rosalind coming back and frowned. He glanced at Victoria and gave her a look. 

Earlier, when Rosalind had hit on him, Ethan had turned her down, but she kept insisting on getting to know him. So, he had to say he was there with his girlfriend, who was Victoria. 

Victoria quickly understood Ethan's signal. 'Beauty truly brings trouble,' she thought, realizing she had to play along and help him out of this mess.
