The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 145: Catching Crabs

After the plane landed, the waiting chauffeur drove up to pick them up. The island used those open-sided shuttle buses with canopies, offering a great view.

Victoria had already changed into a tropical outfit with a strappy top and shorts adorned with large blue and purple flowers and green leaves, looking very cool.

As soon as the cabin door opened, a wave of heat hit them. Victoria put on her sunglasses before stepping out into the bright sunlight.

The others had also changed into colorful shirts and shorts. Ethan's outfit was the most unique, being pure silver-white with subtle patterns up close.

Nick's shirt was the most flamboyant, a mix of bright red and yellow. Eric's shirt was similar to Victoria's, mainly dark purple with white and green floral accents.

Samuel wore an ice-blue shirt with yellow and dark green details, while Roy's was green and white.

They all got into a vehicle and headed towards the resort. The sight of tall trees and the distant ocean immediately brought a relaxed vacation vibe.

They excitedly discussed what to eat and do next, full of energy and not needing any rest.

As they approached the white buildings of the resort, Nick suddenly remembered something and asked, "Samuel, I remember you have a huge yacht, supposedly the third largest private yacht in the world. We haven't seen it yet. When can we check it out?"

Victoria tilted her head to look at Samuel in the front seat, her eyes widening in amazement. "Samuel, you're so rich!"

Samuel laughed heartily. "Yeah, today I'll let Victoria have some fun on it. But it's docked on the other side of the island, so it'll take about half an hour to get here."

The yacht was mainly used for hosting friends and business associates, discussing confidential matters in privacy.

Although it hadn't been used in a while, it was always maintained and cleaned, ready to be used at any time.

The car slowly stopped at the entrance of the resort, surrounded by lush greenery and flowers, giving it a secluded paradise feel.

They got out of the car, and the chauffeur pressed a button, causing the rustic-looking gate to open slowly.

It turned out the gate had a smart control system, combining aesthetics with convenience. A short walk down a pebble path led them to the main building.

A ginger cat was lounging on the stone steps, basking in the sun. Its orange-striped fur was curled up like a big fluffy ball.

Hearing their voices, the cat lazily half-opened its eyes and meowed softly. Recognizing the familiar chauffeur, it yawned and went back to sleep.

Victoria curiously asked, "Samuel, your cat is so chubby. But won't it get lonely being the only one?"

Samuel glanced at the cat indifferently and stepped over it. "Ginger cats tend to get fat easily. I told the staff to give it less food, but it sneaks into the kitchen to eat. There's another one, a Dragon Li, that roams around all day."

Before he finished speaking, Victoria heard rustling in the nearby bushes and saw a flash of brown, likely the Dragon Li.

Eric clapped his hands and laughed. "These two cats have such different personalities. People say pets resemble their owners, but I don't see either of them resembling Samuel."

Nick looked at the sleeping ginger cat and suddenly imagined a chubby Samuel, bursting into laughter. Pointing at the cat, he said, "Hey, no way Samuel could look like that!"

Samuel instantly guessed what Nick was thinking and shot him a cold glare.

Nick quickly covered his mouth to stifle his laughter, his eyes meeting Victoria's, who also covered her mouth, giggling. Nick had a knack for finding humor in any situation.

After choosing their rooms, the staff helped them with their luggage.

They then headed to the beach, where the tide had just receded. The island's caretaker told them it was the perfect time to catch crabs.

Victoria's eyes lit up as she took the bucket and small shovel from the caretaker and ran towards the freshly exposed sand.

Halfway there, she kicked off her heavy, sand-covered flip-flops and ran barefoot.

Ethan wasn't interested in catching crabs, thinking it would get him dirty, but seeing Victoria's enthusiasm, he reluctantly took the tools and walked over.

Victoria stopped halfway and shouted back, "Where should I dig for crabs?"

Nick ran over, laughing. "See, you ran off too quickly and missed the instructions! The caretaker said to look for places with air holes; there might be shells or snails underneath. I'll definitely catch the most!"

Victoria stuck her tongue out at him. "Nonsense! I won't lose to you. How about a contest? We'll meet back here in two hours, and whoever catches the most seafood can make a request, as long as it can be done on this island."

Nick agreed. "I'm in. What about you guys? Ethan, want to join?"

He looked at Ethan expectantly, knowing Ethan wasn't into such activities and would likely catch the least. The thought of making Ethan do something was thrilling.

Ethan scoffed. "No way."

Nick sighed dramatically. "Ethan, are you afraid of losing to me?"

Ethan replied, "How about I put you in my bucket and make you the biggest catch of the day?"

Nick quickly shook his head and ran off, shouting, "Fine, if you don't want to play, no need to threaten me."

Eventually, Eric and Roy joined the contest. Samuel, on the other hand, set up a lounge chair on the beach, sipping champagne and watching them play.

These were activities for the younger crowd, and he wanted to maintain his image.
