The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 123: Fulfilling the Bet

Just as Samuel and his crew pulled up in their SUV, he hopped out and shouted, "We got the whole thing on tape! Victoria finished the race, no doubt about it. You can check the footage."

This was actually a rule of the competition, with the SUV provided by Declan.

Every participant was recorded to ensure the race's authenticity and fairness. Sophia's doubts were completely unfounded.

Sophia kicked over a chair and squinted at Victoria, asking, "What did you do to make Queen so obedient?"

She finally accepted that Victoria had indeed won, but she was very curious about why Queen suddenly behaved under Victoria's command.

Did she have some special drug? If she could get her hands on it, she wouldn't have to worry about unruly reindeer anymore.

Victoria scoffed, "You want me to tell you? Not a chance. I won, so hand over the whip."

Sophia's bodyguard had the whip, but he wasn't about to give it to Victoria voluntarily. So, Victoria directed her words at Declan.

After a moment's thought, Declan ordered someone to fetch the whip.

Sophia suddenly burst into laughter, "Fine, you're a tough woman. Bring my Lightning here. I want a rematch."

Lightning was Sophia's favorite reindeer, in its prime, and the previous record holder.

Victoria had already taken the whip and cracked it in the air, producing a sharp sound.

She smiled at Sophia, "We'll talk about the rematch later. First, let me give you a taste of this whip."

Sophia's pupils contracted as she took a step back, eyeing the whip, "Do you really want to hit me? Do you know what the consequences will be?"

She had intended to give Victoria a way out, pretending the bet never happened and not causing her any more trouble.

She didn't expect Victoria to be so ungrateful and actually want to hit her.

Victoria sneered, "Consequences? I'll find out after I hit you."

She stepped closer, and when she was just two steps away, she raised the whip and lashed out at Sophia.

If the whip landed on Sophia, it would definitely draw blood.

Sophia couldn't dodge in time and pulled a bodyguard in front of her.

The bodyguard, though a big man, cried out in pain as the whip struck him, his clothes staining with blood.

Victoria, seeing she had hit the wrong person, politely said, "Sorry. But I was aiming for Sophia. She pulled you in front, so it's not my fault."

She then looked for an angle to hit the hiding Sophia.

Sophia peeked out from behind the bodyguard, her voice rising in fear, "Do you know who my father is? If you dare hit me, none of you will leave this forest tomorrow."

Victoria ignored her and kept swinging the whip.

Afraid of being hit, Sophia screamed and ran, but the whip still caught her hat, knocking it off and pulling out a few strands of hair.

As she fled, she tripped and fell, clutching her aching head.

She yelled at Declan, "Declan! Aren't you going to help me? If this woman hits me, I'll make sure your resort shuts down!"

Declan's face darkened, but he didn't move. Instead, he said, "But Ms. Britton, you agreed to the bet. You should honor your word. I believe your father would agree."

Sophia's bodyguards, whether intentionally or not, stood still.

Only when Sophia called for help did they move to stop Victoria, but Samuel and his group quickly blocked them.

Victoria chased Sophia, whipping at her repeatedly, but Sophia managed to dodge each time.

Victoria was tempted to tackle her to the ground and tie her up first.

At that moment, a resort staff member ran over, urgently saying, "Declan, there's trouble! The Treasury Department is here!"

Sophia jumped out from behind a pillar, pointing at Victoria and laughing, "My father's assistant is here. You're all finished!"

"Declan, your resort will be shut down today, and your family will never make a dime in Lytheria again. Let your kids starve!"

Sophia was vindictive, and having never been so humiliated, she wanted to make sure these people paid.

Declan felt a pang of anxiety. Though Thaddeus was reasonable, he was known to spoil Sophia.

Who knew if he would side with her and find an excuse to shut down the resort?

Samuel, however, remained calm, smiling, "Let's go meet them."

Sophia ran into the house, eager to complain and make Thaddeus's assistant believe she was being bullied.

Declan stomped his foot, "This is bad. She'll twist the story to make it our fault."

Samuel patted his shoulder, signaling him to stay calm, and they walked slowly towards the house.

Inside, the Treasury Department officials were in the lobby. Sophia rushed in and saw Ethan, his hand bandaged, sitting on the sofa.

Next to him was a middle-aged man in familiar attire, speaking softly. Sophia hesitated, "Dad, what are you doing here?"

Usually, when she caused trouble, Thaddeus sent his assistant. Why had he come in person today?

Thaddeus was smiling obsequiously at Ethan.

Hearing Sophia's voice, he turned with a furious expression, "Sophia, what have you done?" His tone told Sophia he was angry.

She shrank back; Thaddeus rarely got mad at her, but when he did, it was terrifying. She had no idea what she had done wrong.

Samuel entered with Victoria, his face impassive, "Thaddeus, we meet again."

Thaddeus jumped up from the sofa, his face breaking into a broad smile as he approached, shaking Samuel's hand respectfully.

"Mr. Hamilton! Why didn't you inform me you were coming to Lytheria? I would have arranged a banquet to welcome you and your friends."
