The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 14: Victoria Amazes the Audience
What a joke, but thank God the comedy show after it was actually funny and got everyone back into it.
Ethan and his buddies couldn't care less about who was on stage; they weren't there for the show anyway.
Nick was like, "What's the deal? Why isn't Victoria up yet? Who planned this mess?"
Roy chimed in, "Yeah, we're only here for Victoria. What's with all this other crap?"
Eric said, "Relax, she's up next!"
Ethan didn't say anything, but he did sit up a bit straighter.
He was curious to see how Victoria would do. She was smooth on the keyboard, so the piano should be a piece of cake.
Victoria walked on stage looking chill. Ella's downfall was her own doing; she even bought and took the laxatives herself.
In their past life, Ella had messed with Victoria so she couldn't perform and even used Victoria's practice recordings for her own show!
The affection she received from Dennis and the admiration from director John were never meant to be hers!
Back then, Victoria thought the music sounded familiar and later asked Ella about it.
Ella cried and apologized, saying the shoe thing wasn't on purpose, maybe Ember didn't check them right.
She even played the victim, saying she grew up poor and couldn't afford nice things, but didn't want to embarrass Joan and Brian, begging Victoria to keep quiet.
For the Scott family's reputation, Victoria didn't expose her and even helped cover it up.
Looking back now, she realized how dumb she was, being used and still thinking of others!
Victoria's kindness and compassion had once been given to Ella, but now they had become the very tools Ella used against her.
So this time, Victoria wasn't going to be soft-hearted!
The stage lights dimmed, leaving just a spotlight on Victoria. Her dress sparkled in deep blue, like stars in the ocean, making her delicate face even more stunning, like a goddess in the clouds.
Someone said, "Wow, she's gorgeous!"
A student exclaimed, "Is that Victoria? She's my new dream girl!"
The music, familiar yet more refined and emotionally rich, flowed gently.
The auditorium seemed bathed in cool moonlight, evoking the romance of a young girl, yet with a cool detachment, as elusive as clouds and mist.
Sometimes joyful, sometimes melancholic, the audience's emotions rose and fell with the performance.
When the piece ended, the lights brightened.
It took a moment for the audience to react, then thunderous applause erupted.
"Amazing! I was moved to tears!"
"Is this still the Moonlight Sonata? I always thought it was emotionally simple, but I didn't expect so many variations!"
"She adapted it a bit! I need to ask her how exactly!"
"I can't take it. I have to pursue her!" The student who made this bold statement suddenly felt a chill behind him.
Looking around, he saw Ethan and his group nearby, and he thought maybe he was too loud and Ethan was unhappy.
He smiled sheepishly and made a zipper motion over his mouth.
Nick said, "Victoria is so outstanding; it seems my task of protecting her is very challenging!"
Eric laughed. "Nick, you can't stop it. Victoria is so beautiful and talented, who knows how many guys are after her."
Ethan said, "She is indeed good."
But her piano playing was filled with sadness. Was it because her foster parents treated her poorly?
Victoria bowed with perfect grace, wrapping up her performance flawlessly.
Dennis couldn't take his eyes off her. He realized she was the girl he almost hit earlier today, and she definitely had the confidence to brush him off.
That only made him more intrigued.
After the show, Nick pulled Victoria over. "Victoria, let me introduce you to some folks."
They headed straight to the front row, where the famous director, John, was smiling at Victoria.
Ralph was surprised to see Ethan. "Ethan, what brings you here?"
Ethan shrugged, "Just joining the fun."
Marcus Graham, the dean of the Computer Science Department, muttered, "Last time I asked you to attend our department's event, why didn't you come to join the fun then?"
Ethan pretended not to hear.
Nick stepped forward. "Mr. Cook, Mr. Wallace, this is your new Performing Arts freshman, Victoria Hamilton. Please look after her."
"Hello." Victoria looked at them with eyes full of admiration and respect.
The deans of Nexus College were big shots in the academic world, known for their stellar reputations and remarkable achievements.
"Good child." Lloyd had been informed beforehand.
Nick brought her over, and with the surname Hamilton, she must be the hidden daughter of the Hamilton family.
Ralph directly introduced. "Victoria plays the piano, right? Mr. Moore just praised you to me. This is Mr. Woods, Mr. Cole, they are big names in the entertainment industry, and you will have opportunities to work with them in the future."
Victoria had a pleasant conversation with them.
'Sometimes, you think they are so noble and distant, but once you reach a certain status, they are actually very easy to get along with,' Victoria couldn't help but think to herself.
All eyes in the auditorium were focused on these few people, who had both wealth and fame.
Meanwhile, Ella, who was exhausted on the toilet, was still reflecting on what went wrong. She should have had the script under control and won.
But with the stomach cramps, she could only call Ember to vent and ask her to quickly bring a set of clothes and shoes.
There were whispers outside.
"Did you see that? Victoria stole the show!"
"Yeah, I saw Mr. Cook and the famous directors chatting happily with her."
"Of course, I heard there was another piano player before her who made a fool of themselves, making her stand out even more."
"What was her name?"
At this point, Ella couldn't hold it in anymore and screamed, making the people outside stop gossiping and leave!
Ella was both angry and ashamed inside. How did Victoria steal the spotlight again?
Ella saw her drink the coffee, but she was the one who was affected.
Victoria must have switched the coffee when Ella wasn't looking. Victoria didn't drink a sip, and Ella drank both cups!
Victoria had already seen through her drugging!
How could Victoria be so smart, when Ella was the reborn one?
Victoria's obedient and well-behaved demeanor in front of Joan and Brian was definitely just an act. She was a scheming and vicious woman.
She escaped this time, but there would be more opportunities in the future.
Ella thought, 'So infuriating! Victoria, you bitch, just wait!'
