The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 149: The Storm is Coming

Jasmine was determined to find out if the person on the ship was Victoria and what her relationship with Samuel was. 

She completely ignored the drivers words and kept urging him to go faster. 

She even called Ella, who had already returned to the country and answered quickly.

"Ella, do you know where Victoria went for winter break?" Jasmine asked.

Ella sounded puzzled. "No idea, but she probably didn't have the money to go anywhere. She's likely working overtime at her dessert shop."

"You won't believe this, but I saw her at The Emerald Atoll Archipelago. She's having a blast on a luxury cruise with Roy and the others," Jasmine said.

"That's impossible! You must have seen wrong!" Ella shrieked. 

But then she thought about how Victoria and Eric had always been close. Maybe he did take her to the islands. 

"Jasmine, take a picture. If it's really Victoria, I'll recognize her."

Jasmine took out her phone, but the distance was too great. The binoculars could see clearly, but the phone only captured blurry figures. 

She urged the driver again, "Get closer. I need a clear shot." 

The driver was about to argue, but Jasmine shot him a fierce look. "Do you want to get paid or not? The weather looks fine to me, so stop making excuses!" 

She thought to herself that this servant was too disobedient and decided to have her mom fire him when they got back.

The driver had no choice but to move closer. Finally, Jasmine got a clear photo of Victoria's face and sent it to Ella. 

Ella was silent for a moment. It was indeed Victoria. 

Seeing Victoria laughing happily on the luxurious cruise, Ella clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms. 

Why? She was the real heiress and had never been on such a luxurious cruise. Why did Victoria get to go just by cozying up to a man?

"It must be that she begged Eric to take her! She's so shameless, going out with so many men before even getting married. If this gets out, who would dare marry her?" Ella spat venomously.

Jasmine didn't join in on cursing Victoria. Instead, she thought for a moment and said, "You don't get it. This cruise belongs to Samuel. You might not know who he is, but with his status, Eric couldn't bring a lowly woman on his ship." 

"And they only brought this one woman. Do you think it's possible that Victoria is part of the Hamilton family?"

Ella's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly retorted, "Impossible! Victoria's family is poor. I checked. And we can find information about the Hamilton family online. They don't have an eighteen-year-old daughter." 

Since Victoria was close with Charming Four, Ella had already investigated their backgrounds thoroughly.

Except for Ethan's mysterious family, the other three came from publicly listed companies, and their family details were clear. 

Nick didn't have a sister, only a thirteen-year-old distant cousin.

Jasmine had also checked. Samuel and Nick were both only children, and there were no rumors of illegitimate siblings. 

But maybe the Hamilton family was just good at keeping secrets. 

As Jasmine pondered, the speedboat suddenly jolted violently, causing her to lose her balance and fall into her seat, bruising her elbow and dropping her phone.

Ella heard the sound of something falling and asked anxiously, "Jasmine, are you okay?"

Jasmine picked up her phone and, despite the pain, said, "I'm fine. I just dropped my phone. I'll call you later." 

She hung up and angrily yelled at the driver, "What kind of driving is this? You hurt me!"

The driver, his voice trembling, pointed to a dark line in the distance. "Ms. Murphy, look, a big wave is coming." 

A black wall of water was rushing towards them, and the gentle sea breeze had turned into a fierce wind, making the boat rock. 

The sun had set, and the moon was hidden by clouds, making the surroundings dark and frightening.

Jasmine quickly fastened her seatbelt and screamed, "What are you waiting for? Head to the shore! Do you want to kill me?"

The driver made a sharp U-turn and sped towards the shore. 

Within minutes, the sky was filled with storm clouds, and lightning pierced through, with thunder booming as if right next to them. 

Jasmine hugged herself tightly. The speedboat had no canopy, and she was dressed lightly, shivering as the cold wind whipped against her bare skin.

Suddenly, the driver looked at the fuel gauge and shouted, "Ms. Murphy, we're running low on fuel. We might not make it to the shore."

Jasmine's eyes widened in shock. "What do you mean? How can we be out of fuel? Didn't you check before we left?"

The driver eased off the gas pedal, fed up. "Ms. Murphy, you were the one rushing me. How was I supposed to know we'd go this far? I warned you several times to turn back, but you didn't listen." 

He thought about jumping into the water. With his swimming skills, he could make it to shore even in the storm. 

As for the brainless Jasmine, she could wait for rescue and hopefully learn a lesson.

The speedboat bobbed in the waves, looking like it might capsize at any moment. Jasmine was terrified and on the verge of tears. 

She softened her tone and pleaded, "Sir, I'm sorry. I'm just a young girl. Please don't leave me." Her voice cracked, and the tears were genuine.

The driver's anger subsided. "Fine, I won't hold it against you. But we're definitely low on fuel. Call your brother right now and have him send a larger yacht to pick us up. We can meet halfway and avoid the worst of the storm."

"Okay." Jasmine quickly took out her phone and dialed, glancing around nervously. She realized just how far they were from shore. 

As she was about to press the call button, a thought struck her. She hesitated and looked back.
