The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 59: The Comeback in Votes

6 min 113.9K views

As soon as the second round of the Campus Queen competition kicked off, Ella dropped a dance video with some misty special effects.

In the video, she moved like a fairy, totally nailing the vibe that young guys love, and her votes shot up, almost hitting the top three.

But then Elise posted a new pic of Victoria, and everything changed. The snooker club got involved, and Victoria's votes quickly caught up, even passing Ella's.

It was just a photo, but it was way more appealing than the professionally edited video Ella had put out!

Ella was so pissed she smashed a set of cups. Determined to win, she started using fake accounts to cheat and vote online. She was dead set on beating Victoria this round and snagging the Campus Queen title!

Ella was also super dedicated to the cheerleading team. She hired a pro to design the moves and even paid out of her own pocket for the uniforms.

She came up with several different styles and modeled them herself, posting pics on the forum for everyone to vote on their favorite.

She even went out of her way to find Dennis, who was playing basketball at the time. Ella showed up in one of the most eye-catching red and white uniforms.

Her appearance caused quite a stir on the playground. Those long legs and slim waist were seriously hot.

The game paused, and Dennis's friends called him over to check her out.

Dennis saw Ella at the edge of the playground, a hint of annoyance in his eyes, but he still walked over.

Ella ran up to him, beaming, "Dennis, what do you think of this outfit? I'm thinking of making it the cheerleading uniform."

She spun around, trying to show off her best angle.

Dennis barely glanced at her and responded indifferently, "You can decide on these things. They all look good to me."

"Really? Dennis, do you think I look pretty like this?" Ella asked, reaching out to grab his sleeve.

Dennis subtly dodged her touch, "I trust your judgment on the uniforms. I'm sure you all can make the best decision. As long as there's a cheerleading team during the game, it's fine."

Ella sensed his meaning and felt a bit let down, "Alright then."

She couldn't understand. She had tried so hard to please Dennis. Why wasn't he moved? In her previous life, he was so gentle and considerate towards Victoria. Why did he seem like a different person now?

Just then, Dennis noticed two girls walking by the entrance. It was Victoria and Mira, chatting and laughing, completely unaware of the people on the playground.

Dennis's gaze was drawn to them, following them intently. He had been playing basketball on the playground a lot lately because Victoria often passed by, and he couldn't help but look at her more.

Ella noticed his distraction and turned her head to see Victoria, who was smiling softly.

A flicker of resentment ignited within her. She thought, 'It's that bitch again. Victoria, when did you start seducing Dennis?'

"Dennis!" Ella called back his attention, annoyed.

He reluctantly pulled his gaze away, "Is there anything else? You can decide on your own."

Ella replied, "No, that's all. I'm leaving."

"Okay, goodbye." Dennis turned back to play basketball without looking back.

Ella glared at his back and thought, 'Dennis, one day your love for me will be so overwhelming that you'll lose yourself in it.'

A few days passed, and since everyone was more interested in new faces, the senior students like Lily and Adelaide didn't put in much effort. Victoria's votes surpassed theirs, making her second place.

Meanwhile, Ella, with the help of her fake accounts, temporarily held the first place.

Elise checked the votes first thing in the morning and rushed to find Victoria at the snooker hall. "Victoria, you're in second place now, but the first place votes are skyrocketing. They jumped by two thousand overnight."

Mira, looking worried, chimed in, "Is it Lilly?"

She opened the voting page and scoffed, "No way, it's Ella! Damn, she's not even close to being as pretty as Victoria!"

"Something's off," Elise said, thinking hard. "I checked the votes before bed last night. Victoria was in first place, and the others only gained a few dozen or hundred votes overnight. How did she suddenly get two thousand?"

Mira added, "Yeah, and it's obvious Victoria is much prettier. How did two thousand people suddenly have such a unified taste?"

Victoria thought back to her previous life. She hadn't entered this competition, and Ella wasn't in first place in the earlier rounds. Ella had suddenly surged ahead in the final round, surpassing seniors like Lily and Adelaide, with votes far exceeding the second place.

Everything had changed in this life.

Elise rubbed her chin, "Something's fishy. I'll have them check the vote sources to see if there's any foul play. I won't let it slide."

Victoria stayed calm, "Elise, you're so responsible. The final result will definitely be fair. Let's go train."

"Alright, bye."

Meanwhile, Bodhi, the guy Ella had hired for the sockpuppet votes, was talking to her.

The situation had been urgent yesterday, and he had cheated by casting too many votes at once. If investigated, it would be easy to expose. He suggested Ella find a computer expert.

Ella was furious, "I paid you, so you should get the job done."

Bodhi replied, "There's nothing we can do. We're just ordinary sockpuppets. But I can recommend an expert. With his help, no one at your school will be able to detect any anomalies."

Ella asked for the expert's info and decided to personally secure this geek. Having Ryan on her side would also be beneficial for her future in the entertainment industry.

Bodhi had met Ryan at an internet cafe while playing games. Ryan was a regular there, often helping the owner with virus issues.

During a major virus attack, most internet cafes in the city were affected, but he saved all the computers in the cafe.

Since then, everyone recognized Ryan's skills, and the owner gave him VIP treatment, waiving his internet fees for ten years and letting him have snacks for free.

Ella, wearing her school uniform, arrived at the internet cafe entrance. Geeks loved this type of girl. She heard Ryan was a scruffy, poor guy who had probably never seen such a beautiful and pure woman like her. He would definitely be smitten.

Moreover, after being rejected by Dennis, she desperately needed the admiration of ordinary men to regain her confidence.

Bodhi eagerly approached her, leering, "Ms. Scott, if you had told me you were this sexy, I wouldn't have charged you. Just have a meal with me and let me hold your hand."

Ella glared at him, "Get lost. Where's Ryan?"

There were no Nexus College students here, so she didn't bother pretending. Before returning to the Scott family, she was a school troublemaker who often hung out with delinquents.

Noticing Ella's impatience, Bodhi straightened up, "He's very punctual. He should be here in about five minutes."

Ella quickly fixed her hair and moved to a distance, pretending to have just arrived. She planned to time it perfectly to bump into Ryan and then pretend to be injured so he would take her to the hospital.

No young man could resist this trick.

From a distance, Ella saw Bodhi signaling her. She walked over in high heels, swaying her hips.

Just as she was about to bump into Ryan, she suddenly realized he looked familiar.

Ella frowned, and her heel got stuck in a drain cover, causing her to stumble and fall in front of Ryan.
