The Inescapable Celibate Heir Chapter 153: There Might Be a Tsunami
On Sol Island, Victoria was soaking in her bathtub in her spacious room. Her bedroom had a huge floor-to-ceiling window right in front of a luxurious bathtub.
Victoria lay in the tub, casually grabbed a grape from the small table beside her, and savored its sweetness.
A classic movie was playing on the projector opposite her, and she moaned comfortably while admiring the actress's superb performance.
A crisp knock on the door interrupted her relaxation, followed by Nick's voice from outside. "Hey, Victoria, we're gonna play some snooker. Wanna join us?"
Victoria swallowed the grape and called out, "I'm still in the bath. You guys go ahead."
Outside, Nick shrugged at Ethan. "Told ya, girls always take forever in the bath. She'll come down when she's ready."
Ethan shot him a cold glance, hands in his pockets, and walked away.
When Victoria finally came downstairs, Samuel was sitting by the window with a cup of coffee, staring at the pouring rain outside.
Victoria tiptoed behind him and gently tapped his shoulder. "Whats on your mind?"
Samuel was startled but quickly recovered, his coffee cup only rippling slightly. He turned back and looked at Victoria helplessly. "Victoria, you're always teasing me."
Victoria's eyes darted around as she moved to sit on the couch. "You didn't even get scared. If it were Nick, he'd definitely spill his coffee. Wait, he doesn't drink coffee at all. Samuel, why are you drinking coffee at this hour? Aren't you going to sleep?"
Samuel sighed and placed his coffee on the table. "I was planning to meet with a business partner tomorrow, but with this storm, it's not going to happen. And the rain is getting heavier. I'm worried it might cause a tsunami."
Victoria was about to sympathize with Samuel for working even while on vacation, but his last words shocked her.
She widened her eyes and asked, "A tsunami? Will it be serious? Are we going to be trapped here? Are we in danger?"
Samuel replied, "We'll have to see how the weather changes. If this rain continues for a week, it could be serious. But my island's foundation is solid, and the villa is built to withstand the highest level of tsunami protection. We'll be safe."
"However, the neighboring island, where your classmate is staying, might be in danger. Her island is artificially filled, and I'm not sure how well it can withstand a tsunami."
Samuel's island had enough food supplies to last three months, so they wouldn't lack anything. The only downside would be not being able to get fresh seafood and produce.
Victoria took a bite of her cake. "Oh, looks like she's in for some bad luck. Her luck has never been great."
Samuel thought of Jasmine's disheveled appearance today and couldn't help but laugh. It seemed Victoria didn't like the Murphy family's illegitimate daughter very much.
But Roy was their eldest brother. If things got really dangerous, the Murphy family wouldn't let Roy ignore her.
Unless the siblings didn't realize the danger in time and the island collapsed before they could ask for help.
Samuel didn't share his thoughts with Victoria and gently nudged her. "Go to the game room. Everyone's there."
"Alright, I'll go. I won't disturb your work." Victoria took another bite of her cake before heading to the game room.
The red velvet cake was deliciously sweet and tangy, and she carried it with her.
In the game room, Ethan and Eric were playing snooker, while Roy and Nick were going head-to-head at the foosball table.
Ethan noticed the door opening and immediately looked over, seeing Victoria. He smiled and waved. "Hey, you made it."
Victoria replied, "Yeah, you guys keep playing. I'm just gonna look around."
She wandered around the game room, eating her cake and checking out the various entertainment options.
The room was large, and in one corner, she discovered a hidden door.
She opened it and found two big computer desks with the latest computer accessories. Victoria wondered if the internet was stable in this weather.
She placed her cake on the desk and turned on the computer. It booted up quickly, and surprisingly, the internet signal was full!
Victoria raised an eyebrow. It had been a long time since she played any games. With everyone else occupied, she decided to take this chance to play a few rounds.
She opened the game folder, which contained all the popular games, including one she was very familiar with, called "Glory."
In high school, Victoria loved playing this game. She was quick and smart, making her a great player.
But she had to stop playing in her senior year to focus on getting into Nexus College, which had high academic requirements.
In her previous life, she planned to play games during her college free time, as she had some good teammates in the game.
But then Ella returned, and the Scott family cut off her allowance, forcing her to work part-time to make ends meet, leaving no time or energy for games.
In this life, since Ella's return, she had been busy improving herself, adapting to her new family, and dealing with Ella.
Thinking back, it had been two lifetimes since she last played a game.
Feeling nostalgic, Victoria logged into her account, which hadn't been active for two years.
"Glory" was a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game where players formed two teams of five and competed by killing enemies and destroying towers to win.
The game offered over 100 characters, allowing players to choose their favorites for flexible and varied gameplay.
It required not only good mechanics but also strategic thinking and teamwork.
However, Victoria hadn't played for two years, and her rank had dropped to the lowest level. Now, she could only be matched with the lowest-level beginners.
Even though she was a bit rusty, she easily won three consecutive matches and leveled up.
Meanwhile, Jasmine had finally taken a hot shower and comfortably donned her robe in her bedroom.
She first video-called Ella, and the two spent a long time badmouthing Victoria before planning to play games with Vivian.
Ella wasn't much of a gamer, but she enjoyed showing sisterly affection with Jasmine, so she happily agreed.
"Sure, I've heard you're really good at games, Jasmine. We'll be counting on you tonight. You're the best, Jasmine, even better at games than most girls!"
